First off this is a motel not a hotel. The online pictures are misleading; the rooms are dingy and smell. This is the first room I’ve ever been in where I was completely unwilling to walk around barefoot. When walking along the walkways it feels like you’ll fall off due to how much they angle down. The tub was missing a drain plug which we found out did not matter as it drained so slowly it took about an hour to empty after a bath. We did search the bed thoroughly and could not find any bed bugs. The beds were comfortable and clean at least. Also the employees were polite and as helpful as they could be.
Hello, North Carolina residents! When your plans bring you to Greensboro and you're looking for a place to stay that offers convenience near major attractions without a hefty price tag, the **Clarion Pointe - Greensboro Coliseum Area** might be on your radar. Part of the Choice Hotels family, Clarion Pointe aims to provide essential comforts for travelers seeking a practical and affordable lodging option. For locals, especially those attending events, visiting family, or in need of a temporary base, understanding what this type of hotel offers is key to managing expectations and finding a suitable match for your needs.
Clarion Pointe, as a brand, positions itself as offering "elevated essentials" in the midscale segment. This generally means they focus on providing clean, modern rooms with core amenities like complimentary breakfast and free Wi-Fi, aiming for a consistent and satisfying experience for a reasonable price. They are designed to be a step up from basic economy motels, offering a bit more style and thoughtful touches while remaining accessible. For North Carolina individuals and families, this can represent a good balance of value and necessary comforts, particularly when the primary goal is a place to sleep after a day of activities or work.
However, it's crucial to acknowledge that guest experiences can vary significantly at individual properties, and online reviews for this specific Clarion Pointe location highlight some notable concerns. Feedback mentions issues such as unpleasant odors, cleanliness challenges in rooms and common areas, and observations regarding the surrounding environment. While some guests praise the politeness and helpfulness of the employees and the comfort of the beds, these points are often overshadowed by descriptions that suggest a property that might not align with typical expectations of the Clarion Pointe brand's elevated essentials. This article will provide factual details based on available public information, including these customer insights, to help you make an informed decision for your Greensboro stay.
The **Clarion Pointe - Greensboro Coliseum Area** is located at **2003 Athena Ct, Greensboro, NC 27407, USA**. Its name directly reflects one of its most significant advantages: its proximity to the renowned Greensboro Coliseum Complex. This makes it an exceptionally convenient choice for anyone attending concerts, sporting events, trade shows, or conventions held at the Coliseum. Being just a short drive away from such a major venue significantly cuts down on travel time and the stress of finding parking, which is a big plus for event-goers.
Beyond the Coliseum, the hotel's location offers relatively easy access to other key areas of Greensboro. For North Carolina locals, the Clarion Pointe - Greensboro Coliseum Area presents itself as a suitable option primarily for very specific travel needs, particularly those prioritizing location and budget. Its most significant advantage is its direct proximity to the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. If you are a local attending an event, concert, or trade show at the Coliseum, this hotel offers an incredibly convenient and potentially cost-effective place to stay, eliminating long commutes and parking hassles. This makes it ideal for a quick overnight stay directly tied to Coliseum activities.
However, it's crucial for locals to be aware of the detailed customer feedback provided, which highlights significant concerns about property conditions, cleanliness, and the immediate environment. While the staff is often praised for being polite and helpful, and the beds are noted as comfortable, these positives are weighed against reports of dingy rooms, unpleasant smells, and concerning activity in common areas. Therefore, this hotel might be best suited for very budget-conscious individuals or groups who are specifically prioritizing location for an event and are prepared for a no-frills, potentially challenging, environment. It is less suitable for families or those seeking a comfortable and relaxing stay. For locals, setting very realistic expectations based on the provided reviews is essential. If the primary goal is simply a very affordable place to sleep close to the Coliseum, and you are willing to overlook potential aesthetic or environmental issues, then it could serve its purpose.

May 07, 2024 · Adam AndrewRoom was heinous but honestly, we were too tired to notice how bad when we first arrived. What we did notice when we arrived was it seems to be a hot spot for ladies and John’s to hang out on the stairs. We had an interior room, which I thought would improve the sketchiness of it all. In addition to what appeared to be feces on the wall in the bathroom, it also seemed there was a pretty significant blood stain on the carpet. We also had reason to believe our door was opened during the night about 2pm There was mold all over the shower If you are a person traveling, especially with family, this might not be a good landing spot. We booked from a few hundred miles away and had no clue what we were in for
May 12, 2024 · Octavia McAllisterMy only issue is I have stayed there in two separate times and both I have not received my deposits back and I left no issues with the rooms when I left and I see no other reason why I have not received and have only received one receipt from my most recent stay. Just want to know when I receive my deposits back because that's $200 that I expected to receive back. Thank you for your kind services though! It's been almost 3 months and have not seen my $200 in 2 different stays and it was said my deposits were released but not to my account and have contacted my banks multiple times and I see this location is shutdown. All I ask is my money back, just like I paid, I expect the same. Thank you!
Jun 06, 2024 · Tabias M.The most important thing at a hotel is the shower. Ours did not drain. That’s nasty. Room seemed ok at check in but kept finding more and more things to gross us out about it. Looks like they are trying to remodel but have fallen flat. Desk agent double charged us at check in. When I went in to ask, night clerk game me the blank stare. 😳 No breakfast at all and no coffee that we saw. Manager called and rectified the extra charge, but too little too late. When your on the road all the time and at hotels every night, every penny counts…or $185 in this case.
Apr 21, 2024 · Lana DovinThe hotel was pretty good. Our sink was stopped up upon arrival, floors needed to be swept also and they ended up accommodating us by moving us to a different room. However, the second room had food and drinks in the refrigerator from others that were previously there and it needed to be cleaned (had some stains). Also the tub was leaking a little. The lobby is really nice and the staff is pleasant for the most part. Bathrooms are really small. The beds are really comfortable but not big enough for two people to be in one (I suppose they are double beds). Overall, it could use some more grooming.
