I do disagree that it was a short moment, having waited 15 minutes for food, had to leave for an appointment, and then 2 hours for coffee. I appreciate the added points. Thank you. During my recent stay, I went down for breakfast to find all the hot food trays empty, no coffee available, and no utensils stocked. The hotel was notably quiet at the time, so high guest volume was clearly not the issue. I ultimately had to purchase my own breakfast elsewhere. When I raised the concern, I was told a manager would follow up the next day as I do expect some compensation. it’s now been three days, and I have yet to receive any communication. I was also informed that the coffee had been replenished after my complaint, but that was not the case. As a Marriott Titanium member who frequently stays at your properties, I’ve come to expect a consistent level of quality and service. Unfortunately, that standard was not met during this visit.i still hope to hear from a manager. Please don’t just respond apologising and saying you will work on the issues, like every other negative review. I expect a resolution please, such as points. Thank you.

The Residence Inn Cedar Rapids South is a property that, on paper, promises a seamless and home-like experience. As an extended-stay hotel, it is designed to provide more than just a place to sleep, but a place to live, with apartment-style suites and full kitchens. This article is written for you, the local Iowan, to provide a clear and factual overview, balancing the hotel's intended offerings with the real-world experiences of recent guests. Our goal is to give you a comprehensive picture of what to expect, allowing you to weigh the pros and cons and decide if this hotel meets your specific needs.
The Residence Inn Cedar Rapids South is a Marriott property that aims to deliver a consistent level of quality and service. Its all-suite design is a key feature, providing guests with separate living, dining, and sleeping areas. The lobby and common areas often present a nice and clean impression, as a recent guest noted, with a design that gives the hotel a welcoming feel. However, guest feedback indicates that the hotel’s execution of its services can be inconsistent. While the front desk staff is often described as "nice" and "attentive," issues with core amenities, such as cleanliness and food service, have been a source of frustration for some guests. For example, a guest reported having to switch rooms because the first one "was not cleaned properly, dirty mens underwear hanging in bathroom and food in sink." This experience, coupled with a lack of follow-up from management on issues, suggests a gap between the hotel's brand promise and its on-the-ground performance. This article will help you navigate these potential issues and provide a realistic view of what your stay might entail.

For those who want to contact the Residence Inn Cedar Rapids South for reservations or inquiries, here is the essential contact information. Given the feedback on service, it is highly recommended to call the hotel directly to confirm any specific needs or concerns before booking.
For a local Iowan, the Residence Inn Cedar Rapids South is a suitable option for extended-stay needs, but it comes with caveats. If you are looking for a hotel with a kitchen for a longer stay and are on a budget, the spacious suites and amenities like the indoor pool and fitness center are appealing. It could be a viable choice for families in the midst of a home renovation or for hosting a visiting relative who will be in town for a week or more. The hotel’s location is a definite plus for anyone with a car, providing a convenient home base for navigating the city. However, locals should manage their expectations regarding the reliability of certain services, such as the complimentary breakfast, and be prepared for potential inconsistencies in room cleanliness. While the front desk staff may be friendly, the potential for a lack of managerial follow-up on issues is a serious consideration for those who value consistent and high-quality service. Ultimately, the hotel is a good choice for someone who prioritizes an apartment-style room and is willing to be flexible with some of the more standard hotel amenities.

Jul 03, 2025 · james braithwaiteFirst time staying here while visiting cedar rapids. Normally I stay at the doubletree downtown but they were sold out. Front desk people were always nice and the lobby makes the hotel seem nice. First room was not cleaned properly, dirty mens underwear hanging in bathroom and food in sink. They moved my room for me but that is all. 2nd room was cleaner but I will not be staying here again.
Jun 16, 2025 · Ashley DeitersVery disappointed. In fact, I decided to cancel the same night I arrived. Arrived around 5:30 maybe 6, left at 10-ish. Front desk was very kind upon arrival. Gave me my room keys and instructions to get to my room. That’s where this all takes a turn and is among the worste places I have stayed, rather, attempted to stay in. 1. Room was filthy. The couch (pictured, if they allow it) was riddled with stains several bigger than a basket ball and overlapping each other. Floors much of the same stained marking throughout. Counter tops, night stands, and table all had a residue on them, not wiped, looks more like dripped and some smeared. Not taking a guess at what it was. I didn’t even sit on the bed after seeing all of this. (I did contact the front desk with these concerns and asked them for at least a few towels to put on the couch and something to clean the surfaces with. They gave me all of the mentioned items and I cleaned all surfaces and placed the towels on the couch.) 2. Mud on the seats of the chairs in the lobby, dried to dirt but you could still see the smear pattern and clump and on end indicating there has been no attempt to clean it. 3. Very low water pressure in the sinks. Not great pressure in the shower. 4. Luke warm water at best, I went to get dinner and came back to check several hours later, still no hot water, slightly warm at best. It as at this point I had really seen enough and decided to cancel my stay. For over $200.00 a night, this was terrible. For $100.00 a night this would be terrible. Quite honestly, I’d likely pass on it if it was free.
Jul 08, 2025 · Eric SchrobilgenAfter checking into another CR hotel and having to check back out immediately, checking in here was a breath of fresh air. Everything was clean, comfortable, and perfect for the trip we had planned. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great, even providing batteries to us when the one’s in one of our own personal devices died. Definitely would recommend if you’re in the area!
Feb 17, 2025 · Alyssa LargeHorrible place to stay. I have been a titanium or platinum member for the past 3 years. Never once at a Marriott property have I been treated like such a child. We are here for a baseball tournament so we have about 10 rooms rented. Everyone was hanging outside (not being loud) and we were told it was "curfew" and we had to go to our rooms. The pool in this hotel is green. You can't get the proper towels or pillows to your room. If you can find them they will not bring them to you as they are too busy so you are expected to go get them. I can somewhat understand the curfew MondayThursday if you were being loud in your room, but outside? The firepit outside didn't even work. The grill is a train wreck, but they are more worried about people being outside past 10. I believe it's because the manager on-site doesn't want to have to do anything. This place is a joke. I wasted 55000 points on a suite. Only thing different from a regular room to a suite is a door in the bedroom. If you are planning on staying in Cedar Rapids to have a good time do not choose this place or a Hawkeye hotel property. You will not be treated right. I even called Marriott and they were no help in the situation. If I could give this place zero stars I definitely would. If you have this policy it should be on the Marriott website. Also at checkout they tried to charge me $115. Said that points dont cover all the cost for a suite. I had to show them my Marriott app that it was indeed all covered.
