On 11/24/24, I called to book this hotel for December 22-January 2. I was told no reservations could be made and to call back December 18th. I asked how am I to book a trip for the holidays calling a couple days before travelling and I was told to call another hotel. I travel a lot and always stay at Residence Inns. Corporate will be made aware of this.

Situated at 182 Milton Rd, Rochester, NH 03868, USA, and part of the Marriott family of brands, Residence Inn properties are typically designed to cater to travelers needing more than just a standard hotel room, offering a home-like environment for longer durations. You can reach them by phone at (603) 755-3411 or +1 603-755-3411.
The Rochester Residence Inn is located on Milton Road, a key thoroughfare in Rochester, providing relatively straightforward access to the local area. Rochester itself is a city in Strafford County, New Hampshire, known for its mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. While the hotel is not in a bustling urban center, its location on a main road offers convenience for driving to various destinations. Guests can expect a suburban setting.
In terms of accessibility, the hotel's location offers connections to other parts of New Hampshire. For example, it is within reasonable driving distance to larger cities like Portsmouth, with its vibrant downtown and Seacoast attractions, and Dover. Local amenities in Rochester typically include various dining establishments, retail stores, and services. Proximity to local businesses and medical facilities might be a factor for extended-stay guests on assignment. The property is designed to be self-sufficient for guests, with facilities that allow for comfortable long-term stays.
However, recent guest reviews suggest that the immediate environment, particularly concerning noise levels, can be a concern. One review explicitly mentions "always loud all the people are always outside talking loud, annoying kids playing at night when they should be asleep in the back yard always loud noises and banging slamming doors plain rude don't have no respect for others." This feedback indicates that despite the hotel's design for longer stays, the tranquility of the environment may be compromised by other guests' behavior.
Residence Inn properties are typically known for their suites, which are equipped with amenities designed for longer stays. This includes fully equipped kitchens, providing guests with the flexibility to prepare their own meals. Standard services at a Residence Inn often include a complimentary breakfast, an indoor pool, a fitness center, and pet-friendly accommodations.
Specific amenities typically found at Residence Inn properties that would likely be available at the Rochester Residence Inn include:
However, the guest reviews provided paint a concerning picture regarding the actual delivery of these services and the overall guest experience. One review highlights a severe issue with customer service and booking, stating, "I called to book this hotel for December 22-January 2. I was told no reservations could be made and to call back December 18th. I asked how am I to book a trip for the holidays calling a couple days before travelling and I was told to call another hotel." This suggests a significant problem with reservation management and staff responsiveness to guest needs, particularly for important holiday travel. Furthermore, the reviewer indicated their intent to report this to corporate, implying a serious breach of typical Residence Inn service standards.
Another review goes into disturbing detail about the cleanliness and security of the rooms and the property. Claims of "dirty floors never sweeped," "uncleaned fridge," "no working heat or lights," and "housekeeping troll go through our personal belongs and steal all our food left only what she didn't want" are extremely serious. These allegations, coupled with accusations of overcharging by staff ("charges etc for his own pockets its 100 a night 500 a week he over charges people 120 a night and 550 a week"), represent a severe deviation from expected hotel standards and a significant concern for potential guests.
Residence Inn properties are inherently designed with features that cater to extended stays, aiming to provide comfort and convenience over longer periods. These features are generally appealing to various travelers, including those on business assignments, relocating, or families needing more space.
Typical features of a Residence Inn include:
However, based on the provided reviews, the practical execution of these features at the Rochester Residence Inn appears to be severely compromised. The claims of non-functional utilities ("no working heat or lights"), lack of basic cleanliness ("dirty floors never sweeped"), and allegations of theft and deceit by staff ("housekeeping troll go through our personal belongs and steal all our food") directly contradict the very essence of comfort, security, and reliability that an extended-stay hotel, especially one under the Marriott brand, is supposed to offer. The accusations of overcharging further erode trust in the establishment's integrity.
Generally, Residence Inn properties are promoted as reliable, comfortable, and convenient options for extended stays, emphasizing the benefits of a full kitchen, complimentary breakfast, and a welcoming environment. Guests often choose them for business trips, relocations, or family vacations where extra space and home-like amenities are desired.
However, the promotional narrative for the Rochester Residence Inn is severely undercut by the recent guest reviews. The feedback provided is overwhelmingly negative and includes extremely serious accusations. The first review's experience with booking difficulties and dismissive staff response ("told to call another hotel") indicates a fundamental breakdown in customer service. The second review is particularly damning, detailing multiple critical failures: lack of cleanliness, non-functional room features, security concerns with staff entering private belongings and alleged theft, and accusations of fraudulent overcharging. The reviewer's strong language ("absolutely disgusting," "worst motel around town," "damn lie," "pathetic") conveys a profound level of dissatisfaction and a complete loss of trust in the hotel.
Such explicit and severe complaints, especially concerning cleanliness, security, and ethical practices, would be a major deterrent for any potential guest searching on a "Hotels Near Of Me" platform. While the information provided is limited to these specific negative reviews, they raise significant red flags that prospective guests should be aware of and consider carefully before booking at the Rochester Residence Inn. An objective assessment, based solely on this information, would conclude that this hotel currently presents substantial risks to guest satisfaction and safety, despite the general positive reputation associated with the Residence Inn brand.

Nov 30, 2024 · C KatzMy daughter and I had an unfortunate overlap by a few months with end of lease and new house being ready so we spent that time RRI. Understanding what/where it is expectations were EXTREMELY low. Unfortunately not low enough. The dark green carpet in bedroom has a 30"by30" square cut out showing the subfloor numerous stains of varying sizes and stickiness. Cable splitters dangling in midair as well as coax run on top of carpet. It's 50/50 on whether or not you'll get hot water. NO deadbolt or even slide chain lock. Found numerous food items from last person/animals/ that resided there. The linoleum floors were mopped, scrubbed by hand and the residual dirt, grime laughed at me. Finally the toilet....... When flushed contents went down, however when bowl filled back up it wasn't with water it was feces, paper and undescribable other contents pushed upright to the tippy tippy top. After letting the office know it only took 7 days for them to get someone to fix it. Yet calling every night complaining I still owed 100$. It was fixed for maybe 10 days before it happened again. It's been 2 weeks and they haven't done ANYTHING!!!! They do however call/text everyday threatening to throw us out. I've documented every call I've made and attached a new pic for my records when we go to court. I'm not paying 500$ a week (# has changed 3 times. Always goes up) when my 12 yr old daughter has to urinate 1:00 a.m and we have to drive to Cumberland farms. If at all possible STAY AWAY!!!!!
Jun 02, 2023 · Zac TateI stayed there for a little over a year. Had to leave all my stuff behind when I left because that place is INFESTED with bed bugs. Thousands and thousands, we bought foggers and pesticides and anything we could find to try and keep my daughter from getting bit night after night. The owner doesn't care, all he cares about is how much money it would cost him and it's everyone's fault but his own. You have to pay a $50 "cable box deposit" before you move in and it is in all reality it is a security deposit. I left my cable box but they refuse to return the deposit because "I cost them too much money as it is" Michelle at the office does nothing but gossip, all I ever hear from the residents there is what new thing she had to say about myself or my room. She wonders why people like me don't like her but she's just one of those people, that needs the drama. Apparently that's not something you grow out of. It was a good place when I had nowhere to go, but don't forget if you stay there, you won't be able to take anything when you leave unless you want to take the bed bugs along with you.
