If I could leave a negative review I would! We checked in the beginning of month, then we get told to keep room clean, that’s fine, but on top of that we have kids can’t always keep the room clean!, we got threat after threat here! Always told what to do, well here’s my negative review!

Anchorage Inn of Rochester, NH Introduce

For individuals searching on "Hotels Near Of Me" for accommodation options in Rochester, New Hampshire, the Anchorage Inn of Rochester, NH, may appear as a choice. Located at 13 Wadleigh Rd, Rochester, NH 03867, USA, this establishment operates as a motel, traditionally offering basic lodging. You can contact them at (603) 332-3350 or +1 603-332-3350.

Environment: Basic Motel Setting and Concerning Conditions

The Anchorage Inn of Rochester is situated on Wadleigh Road, a less central location in Rochester compared to some other hotels. This area typically consists of a mix of commercial and residential properties. As a motel, the property is likely designed with exterior room entrances, offering direct access from the parking lot to individual rooms. The immediate environment would be typical of a budget lodging establishment, focusing on providing a place to sleep rather than extensive amenities or a luxurious setting.

However, based on recent customer reviews, the actual environmental conditions within the rooms and across the property raise significant concerns. Guests describe rooms as "dirty," "gross," and "not a clean place." Specific issues mentioned include "black mold in the room and bathrooms," "bugs in this places," "dirty holes in the bed and cheats," and "blines got holes in it." These descriptions suggest severe deficiencies in cleanliness and maintenance, potentially impacting guest health and comfort. The overall perception is that it is "just another crappy motel in rochester." Such conditions would make for a highly unpleasant stay and are a major factor for potential guests to consider when evaluating "Hotels Near Of Me" options.

Services: Basic Accommodation with Reported Deficiencies

As a motel, the Anchorage Inn would typically offer fundamental services such as a place to sleep, a bathroom, and perhaps basic in-room amenities like a television. Given the nature of a budget motel, extensive services like a full-service restaurant, fitness center, or pool are generally not expected. Services would primarily revolve around check-in, check-out, and potentially limited housekeeping.

However, the provided customer reviews indicate severe deficiencies in even these basic services and the overall guest experience:

  • Room Cleanliness and Maintenance: Guests explicitly state rooms are "dirty," "gross," and "not a clean place." Specific mechanical failures are mentioned, such as "Toilet don't run" and "no working heat or lights." These are fundamental necessities that are reportedly not being met.
  • Pest and Mold Issues: The presence of "black mold in the room and bathrooms" and "bugs in this places" points to significant hygiene and maintenance failures that are serious health concerns.
  • Staff Conduct: The review states, "the people who run this place are. Disrespectful." Furthermore, guests report receiving "threat after threat here! Always told what to do." This suggests a highly unprofessional and confrontational approach from management or staff, creating a hostile environment for guests. The implication of being "always told what to do" by staff suggests a lack of understanding of guest autonomy and a customer-focused approach.
  • Value for Money: One review explicitly states the place is "not worth the money" and warns, "dont waste ur money. On This place." This directly contradicts the idea of even a budget-friendly option providing adequate value, given the reported conditions.

These reports indicate a profound breakdown in the provision of basic, acceptable lodging services and suggest that the establishment fails to meet even minimal standards of comfort, hygiene, and respectful guest interaction.

Features: Fundamental Lodging, Marred by Reported Issues

Motels typically feature direct access rooms, allowing guests to park immediately outside their door, which can be convenient. They are often chosen for their affordability compared to full-service hotels.

However, based on the provided reviews, the features of the Anchorage Inn of Rochester, NH, are overshadowed by severe negative aspects:

  • Room Condition: Despite the expectation of a basic room, the reported condition of "dirty holes in the bed and cheats" and torn "blines" indicates a severe lack of upkeep and investment in the property.
  • Hygiene Issues: The presence of "black mold" and "bugs" points to fundamental failures in maintaining a healthy and sanitary environment for guests.
  • Safety and Comfort Concerns: Non-working heat or lights and toilets are critical failures that directly impact guest comfort and safety.
  • Lack of Respect for Guests: The alleged "threats" and "disrespectful" behavior from management or staff demonstrate a concerning attitude towards guests, which is a major feature of the overall experience.

These reported conditions actively negate any potential positive features typically associated with budget lodging, such as affordability, if the basic necessities of cleanliness, functionality, and respectful service are not met.

Promotional Information & Guest Experiences

For any establishment, promotional information typically focuses on its positive attributes and the value it offers to guests. However, in the case of the Anchorage Inn of Rochester, NH, the real customer reviews serve as a stark counterpoint to any potential promotional claims. These reviews are not just negative but contain extremely severe accusations and expressions of dissatisfaction.

Key points from guest experiences, which serve as crucial "promotional" information for other potential users of "Hotels Near Of Me," include:

  • Overwhelmingly Negative Sentiment: Both reviews express extreme dissatisfaction, with one wishing they "could leave a negative review."
  • Severe Cleanliness Issues: Repeated complaints about "dirty," "gross," "black mold," and "bugs" indicate a pervasive problem with hygiene.
  • Maintenance Failures: Reports of non-working essential utilities like heat, lights, and toilets are critical operational failures.
  • Hostile Staff Interactions: The claims of "threat after threat" and "disrespectful" conduct from staff are highly concerning and suggest a toxic environment for guests.
  • Lack of Value: The explicit statement "not worth the money" and advice to "dont waste ur money. On This place" directly warns others against booking here.
  • Noise Concerns: The complaint about "always loud all the people are always outside talking loud, annoying kids playing at night when they should be asleep in the back yard always loud noises and banging slamming doors plain rude don't have no respect for others" indicates a disruptive environment.

In conclusion, based solely on the provided customer reviews, the Anchorage Inn of Rochester, NH, presents a highly concerning picture for any prospective guest searching on "Hotels Near Of Me." The numerous and severe complaints regarding cleanliness, maintenance, staff behavior, and overall value strongly suggest that this establishment falls significantly below acceptable standards for accommodation. Potential guests are advised to exercise extreme caution and consider these explicit warnings before booking.

The room design itself is quite nice. I had a King bed and although the tv doesn't line up with the bed directly, it's spacious. My 1 star review comes from the lack of cleanliness and maintenance upkeep. I have been a professional cleaner for over a decade and this place was awful when it came to being cleaned in between guests. The floors, shower walls, and base of toilet had definitely not been cleaned. The bathroom vent and top of hair dryer were also very dirty. All the glass tops were smeared and the top of headboard hadn't been wiped down in quite a long time. There was food left in the fridge from the last guest and hadn't been wiped out...on top of all of that, the microwave and coffee maker didn't work and none of the floor/bed lights had been plugged in. The tv also didn't work, I moved it and used my projector instead. I was on a vacation to grieve the 12th anniversary of my sons death and didn't want to be bothered waiting for them to fix everything so I just dealt with it. I did take pictures of everything and left a note for housekeeping. This place could be amazing if the owners took better care of it and got their housekeepers to do better. The staff seemed nice enough although I did have one housekeeper yelling down to someone about me choosing to not leave the room one day. The motel is located just off the highway so it's a great location to travel around.

Checked in paid a deposit (75$)in cash and paid 100 for the night also in cash. Checked in and went into the room...floor was not swept, nor washed. Whatever we live in New England it's winter...then went to put my food in the mini fridge and there was food and drinks from the prior guest...then went to use the bathroom, it was a long drive from Maine, the toilet started to overflow, went to grab the plunger and there was remnants of feces in it, where the actual special heck did I rent? Went to use the shower, we all know what that was like. Went to grab a towel off the rack and IT WAS ALREADY USED. I know we all have overlooked stuff and I know I can be picky, however this is basic cleanliness and etiquette for rooms. And to charge a deposit for such an atrocities is disgusting. Oh when I was checking in there was a weekly resident who stated she needed an exterminator for the roaches...I should have ran then but again driving a few hours I was exhausted. I'll make sure to let everyone one and will never stay here again. I have also seen the owners have bought a few other hotels and motels in the area....I'll make sure to spend my hard earned money elsewhere.....lessons learned. Shameful and sad. This establishment used to be decent and now not sure what happened but come on now ...have some pride in ownership, we would appreciate it!

If you like nostalgias this is the motel for you , looks like it was build in the early 1950’s private owners , does not look like a chain hotel , the building is painted white with doors facing the parking lots. There really is no check in service you must call a phone number , checking out you leave your card in your room ? The interior could use a make over , the electric outlets are worn loose so your plugs fall out ,the bathroom is small enough discs for a short toilet and tub. , the floor of the tub wobbles under your feet the wood supports are probably worn down like standing on egg crates when showering , other than that it was clean nice canle service poor remotes though , located close to highway which is nice
