Environment and Ambiance:
The Rodeway Inn is situated on Roosevelt Boulevard (US-1), a major arterial road in Philadelphia. This location implies easy access for those traveling by car and proximity to various urban amenities, though it also means being in a busy commercial corridor. Guest reviews offer a mixed but generally pragmatic view of the environment. One reviewer describes the rooms as "simple, small but cozy" and the bedding as "clean," suggesting a focus on basic cleanliness over luxury. While "stuff looks old," it is noted to be "clean enough," indicating that the hotel maintains a baseline level of hygiene despite its age. The overall impression conveyed by a reviewer who was "not picky" but "just want stuff clean and it was" points to an environment that meets fundamental expectations for cleanliness in a budget setting. The observation that "this place always has rooms available" might suggest consistent vacancy, which could be a positive for last-minute bookings or a hint at its reputation. However, a contrasting review raises significant concerns, stating it's "Not for the feint-hearted" and mentioning an "armed guard stationed in reception, bullet proof glass and an interesting selection of fellow guests." This suggests a challenging urban environment surrounding the hotel, necessitating heightened security measures. Despite these security concerns, the reviewer states they "never felt threatened or in danger," which provides a degree of reassurance within that context. The blend of "old but clean" and the need for visible security measures paints a picture of a no-frills, functional motel operating in a high-traffic urban area where safety is a primary consideration.
Services and Hospitality:
Information on specific services and hospitality is somewhat limited in the provided reviews. One reviewer mentioned that the experience was "good," implying that the basic interactions with staff were satisfactory. However, the presence of an "armed guard stationed in reception" and "bullet-proof glass" at the front desk strongly suggests that the primary focus of service and hospitality is on security and maintaining order, especially in what might be perceived as a challenging neighborhood. While it doesn't explicitly state whether staff are friendly or exceptionally helpful beyond the security aspect, the fact that a guest, despite an initial booking error, found their stay "not a disaster" could imply that the staff managed the situation adequately. Typical Rodeway Inn services often include a 24-hour front desk, ensuring someone is available to assist guests at any time, which would be crucial in this environment. Given its budget nature, guests should anticipate standard, functional service rather than personalized luxury hospitality. The provision of fundamental services like a safe and clean place to sleep appears to be the core offering, with security as a prominent feature of the guest experience.
Features and Amenities:
Rodeway Inn offers essential amenities catering to budget-conscious travelers. According to available online information, rooms typically include a flat-screen TV with cable channels, free WiFi (both in-room and throughout the property), a refrigerator, microwave, and a private bathroom with a shower and complimentary toiletries. Each room is air-conditioned. The provided review states that "the beds were very comfortable," which is a key comfort factor for any hotel stay. Free self-parking is available on-site, a significant convenience for guests traveling by car. While not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, Rodeway Inn properties often offer limited breakfast options, such as coffee and tea, or grab-and-go items. However, the primary focus remains on providing basic, functional accommodations. The presence of security features like the armed guard and bullet-proof glass in reception, while unusual for a typical hotel, are distinct features of this particular Rodeway Inn, indicating a strong emphasis on guest safety within its specific urban context. The motel is generally pet-friendly, allowing pets for an additional fee, which is a valuable feature for travelers with animals. Housekeeping services are typically provided on a daily basis.
Promotional Information:
As a Rodeway Inn, this location leverages its affiliation with the Choice Hotels brand, which often promotes affordability, convenience, and value for money. For local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," the Rodeway Inn on Roosevelt Boulevard would appeal to those prioritizing low cost and quick access to major Philadelphia arteries. Its consistent availability of rooms, as noted by a reviewer, could be a key selling point for spontaneous travel or last-minute needs. The hotel's location offers relatively easy access to several Philadelphia attractions, including:
Promotional efforts would likely highlight its competitive pricing, free parking, and fundamental amenities as its main advantages. While it may not offer the extensive features or luxurious ambiance of higher-end hotels, its purpose is to provide a practical and accessible lodging solution. The candid guest reviews, including the mention of "worse places than this," inadvertently serve as a form of "promotion" for its relative acceptability within its price point and category. For travelers who are "not picky" and prioritize a clean, comfortable bed and a secure environment at a low cost, the Rodeway Inn at 4200 Roosevelt Blvd aims to meet those basic requirements, making it a functional choice for those seeking a budget stay in Philadelphia.

Mar 10, 2025 · John Crellyi used to like this motel but ever since new people work there i hate it. got charged $50 for 2 nights for having a dog which i dont have a dog then they refunded me but only $40 not the whole amount. my husband had points on choice motels so we made a reservation for another night but we had to use points plus cash and when my husband went to check in for our reservation they told him that he was on the ," do not rent list " and cancelled our reservation but we never got our money back from paying with the points plus cash and had to leave the motel but wouldnt tell my husband why his ID was flagged bc all the times we stayed there we NEVER caused problems or had any problems and we were NEVER notified of him being on the list. theres always some kind of drama at that motel the cops r constantly there... someone is always overdosing bc mostly all the drug addicts stay there... back in 2023 a woman stabbed her mother then hung herself so i definitely would NOT recommend staying at this motel
Jan 15, 2025 · jillian melvinI had a terrible situation with the Security Guard there in the Lobby. I would try to talk to management and the guard almost attacked me n told me that it was private property and told me to leave. I still wanted to talk to manager, so Guard goes and puts on his vest n threatens me or leave. I didn’t want to further escalate the situation so I stepped outside. Management didn’t even try to help my situation. This guard is a walking Time Bomb. Shouldn’t be in that business.
