There were live and dead roaches in our room. On the ceiling and walls. They would crawl out randomly all nite inside the room. We went to the office to complain and they wouldn't come to the desk. We wanted a full refund yet got no one to even speak to us. We recorded the roaches on our cell phone. It ended up that we didn't sleep at all this night.

Scottish Inns Mocksville, NC Introduce

### Introduction / Overview

When considering a stay in Mocksville, North Carolina, travelers often look for options that balance affordability with convenience. Scottish Inns Mocksville, NC, aims to provide a basic, no-frills accommodation for those passing through or needing an extended stay in the area. As a budget motel, it typically caters to guests seeking essential comforts without extensive luxury amenities.

Guest experiences at Scottish Inns Mocksville, NC, have been quite varied, as indicated by recent reviews. Some feedback points to significant challenges with the condition of the rooms. One highly critical review stated, "There were live and dead roaches in our room. On the ceiling and walls. They would crawl out randomly all nite inside the room. We went to the office to complain and and they wouldn't come to the desk. We wanted a full refund yet got no one to even speak to us. We recorded the roaches on our cell phone. It ended up that we didn't sleep at all this night." This account raises serious concerns about hygiene and customer service responsiveness.

Another long-term guest echoed similar issues while also noting some positives: "I stayed here for a couple months. The room is big but the roaches are terrible! The owner is rude but Perry was super nice. A church comes by to give out lunch, I believe they do it twice a week. They others that live there were nice and friendly. I think it's a little pricey for the condition. The owner would rather redo the parking lot than have bug exterminators come out and spray. I wouldn't recommend. I also don't recommend the motel behind Pizza Hut, the one with the pool, I believe he's owns that motel as well." This feedback highlights recurring pest issues and management challenges, though it also points to the benefit of spacious rooms, friendly community among some guests, and an unexpected local support service with lunch provisions.

It's important for potential guests to weigh these direct accounts. While affordability might be a key draw, the experiences suggest that visitors should manage their expectations regarding room conditions and service consistency. The hotel aims to provide a straightforward lodging option, and for some, the price point might align with their immediate needs, particularly for those on a strict budget or requiring a longer-term, basic accommodation.

### Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For residents of North Carolina, particularly those in or near Mocksville and Davie County, Scottish Inns Mocksville, NC, can serve a specific, practical purpose, albeit with important considerations based on past guest experiences. While it may not be a top choice for a leisure getaway, its suitability for locals often stems from its affordability and location, especially for certain situations.

Firstly, as a budget-friendly option, it can be a viable choice for locals facing temporary housing needs. This could include situations like unexpected home repairs, temporary displacement, or needing a straightforward, cost-effective place to stay for a short period without committing to a long-term lease. The potential for extended stay rates (like weekly rates mentioned in reviews) makes it even more appealing for these scenarios, offering a more economical alternative than higher-end hotels.

Secondly, for accommodating visitors from out of town on a budget, Scottish Inns Mocksville, NC, provides a nearby and affordable option. Locals might recommend it to friends or family who are primarily looking for a place to sleep and aren't focused on extensive amenities, allowing them to save money while still being close to their Mocksville hosts. Its location directly off I-40 also makes it easy for out-of-town guests to find and access.

Thirdly, the pet-friendly policy is a significant draw for local pet owners. If a local needs temporary accommodation where their furry family members are welcome, Scottish Inns offers a solution that might be hard to find elsewhere at a similar price point. The convenience of having an on-site, albeit seasonal, pool can also be a minor bonus for families looking for a simple recreation option without leaving the property.

However, it's crucial for locals to approach Scottish Inns Mocksville, NC, with managed expectations, especially concerning cleanliness and customer service responsiveness, as indicated by past reviews. While some guests have reported significant issues with pests and communication, others have found the basic accommodations suitable for their needs. For those prioritizing extreme budget over extensive amenities and who are prepared for a very basic lodging experience, it fills a specific niche in the local accommodation landscape. Ultimately, its suitability for locals comes down to its core offering as a highly affordable, accessible, and pet-friendly option for pragmatic, short-term, or extended stays where cost is the primary driver.

I wish I could rate this place -10 because it is that HORRIBLE!!!! So when we first walked up to the room I noticed bugs (roaches) in the door cracks. So I'm thinking, our room is pretty close to a lot of grass, so maybe it's just because of that. We opened the door and instantly see about 5 more roaches crawling on the walls. We were in an smoking room, there were holes in the bed spread and the sheets. A huge hole in the wall, I was afraid I would see mice that's how dirty this place is. Regardless of the low price, DO NOT stay here. If you do, make sure you don't put any of your belongings on the floor. If you do, you will be taking some guests (the roaches) home with you!

Everything is clean, beds are comfy, rooms are big, owners are sweet, linens are super white and you can tell they are cleaned with Clorox and sanitary, showers and toilets are white and look new, towels are a good size, there are racks with hangers, bed side tables are big with plenty of storage, beds are HUGE, dresser is very big with deep drawers and storage underneath, storage under the sink, fridge is vey roomy, microwave is spotless inside, ac and heat work great! The only 2 complaints is they have basic cable and they only let you have a pet if you pay nightly, they won't let you pay weekly with a pet which makes no sense. The pet will be there the same amount of time reguardless.

Horrible!!!! Find out there is a registered child molester in the room next to us(we have 2 small kids) a few hours after check in. There are tack nails sticking up through the carpets that my daughter stepped on and had bloody holes in her feet from. Later on in the night we saw roaches on the walls. The carpets were so nasty our feet turned black walking across the floor without shoes. Cigarettes burns on the curtains and blankets, blood stains on all the blankets. The pull up bar in the bathtub popped out of the wall when my daughter pulled on it causing her a busted lip in the tub. The microwave shot Sparks when we tried heating food, there is mold on the ceiling, the other guest walked up to our door asking for drugs (acid and mushrooms in specific) or the random kids around would just walk up and try and come in(complete strangers) The air conditioning wouldnt work, they replaced the AC unit 3 times and told us if the last one didn't work we'd have to live with the heat. The Man Jay that runs/owns the place is rude, won't smile or wave, he changes prices depending on when he needs extra money. He would wait until we left our room and would go in and dig through our things. It was the worst place we've ever stayed and hopefully we will never have to be in a situation to need to again! I doubt I covered all the awful things we found in just 2 days being there but this will give you an idea of what to expect if you stay here! Run!!!!!
