Absolutely Horrid experience! Wish I could Leave Negative Stars! Paid almost $500 for 2 rooms with Small beds! Rooms had No refrigerator so we were unable to keep our leftovers from dinner. Beds were extremely uncomfortable and Loud springs! Worst nights sleep I've ever had a A Hotel! Hot tub downstairs was not operational and pool deck was so Slippery myself and My Father in law both almost slipped and Fell on the Tile! Hotel lobby makes it seem very upscale and Glamorous until you get to the room, Ceiling has Evidence of water Leak and Poor attempt at Repair. Garbage cans had No Bags in them, there was No Bag provided for Dirty Laundry, when we woke up and tried to leave the Hotel we came out to find that my Mother's Wheelchair was stolen off the Back of our Car in the Parking lot! Neighborhood that the hotel is in is Extremely poor and run down...Overall it was Just a Very poor experience and we will not be returning!
For travelers exploring the greater Louisville metropolitan area, particularly when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with a scenic waterfront location, the Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel at 700 W Riverside Dr, Jeffersonville, IN 47130, USA, presents itself as an option. Part of the Marriott family of brands, this hotel aims to offer a comfortable stay with appealing views of the Ohio River and the Louisville skyline. However, it's crucial to consider a range of guest experiences to form a balanced perspective on what to expect.
The Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel boasts a prime location on the scenic banks of the Ohio River in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This waterfront setting is a significant draw, with many rooms offering picturesque views of the river and the downtown Louisville skyline. The hotel is situated just across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky, making it relatively convenient to access Louisville's major attractions. The Big Four Bridge, a popular pedestrian and bicycle bridge connecting Jeffersonville to Louisville Waterfront Park, is often within walking distance, offering a unique way to experience both cities.
Jeffersonville itself offers a charming historic district with local shops, restaurants, and the Howard Steamboat Museum. The Falls of the Ohio State Park, known for its exposed fossil beds, is also nearby. For those venturing into Louisville, attractions such as the KFC Yum! Center, Churchill Downs, the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, the Muhammad Ali Center, and the vibrant Fourth Street Live! entertainment district are a short drive across the bridge. The hotel also provides a complimentary airport shuttle service to Louisville International Airport (SDF), enhancing its convenience for air travelers. While the hotel's immediate vicinity offers pleasant river views and some dining options, some recent reviews describe the broader "neighborhood that the hotel is in" as "Extremely poor and run down," which presents a conflicting view compared to the advertised scenic and convenient location. This aspect should be considered by potential guests who prioritize immediate surroundings beyond the hotel property.
The hotel's lobby is often described as appearing "upscale and glamorous," setting an initial expectation of quality. However, this impression may not always extend to the guest rooms, according to some customer feedback.
The Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel features 180 guest rooms, including suites, across 10 stories. Many rooms are advertised as commanding splendid views of the Ohio River and downtown Louisville. Standard room amenities typically include the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper(SM) Bed with plush bedding, flat-panel LCD TVs with pay movies, and complimentary high-speed internet access (both wired and wireless). Rooms also usually have coffeemakers and in-room safes. However, a recurring issue mentioned in recent reviews is the absence of refrigerators and microwaves in standard rooms, which can be inconvenient for guests wanting to store leftovers or prepare simple meals. It's noted that only rooms on the 9th or 10th floor might offer these amenities, otherwise, the only microwave available is often in the lobby.
For dining, the hotel offers on-site options. The Riverside's Cafe serves American cuisine, including breakfast (often buffet style, available for a fee, approximately $14.99 for adults), lunch, and dinner, and features happy hour. There are also reported to be three bars/lounges, including a potential "Riverside Lounge" or "Bridge & Barrel Restaurant" and a "Hooters" connected directly to the hotel, offering diverse choices for drinks and meals. Room service is also available during limited hours.
Recreational amenities include an indoor heated pool and a hot tub. However, recent reviews indicate that the hot tub might not always be operational, and the pool deck has been described as "slippery," posing a safety concern. The hotel also features a 24-hour fitness center, typically equipped for a complete exercise experience. For business needs, the hotel offers a 24-hour business center (Link@Sheraton) and over 8,000 square feet of meeting space, including a Riverside Ballroom with riverfront views, suitable for various events. Additional services include a 24-hour front desk, concierge services, dry cleaning/laundry service, luggage storage, and a gift shop/newsstand. The hotel provides free self-parking on site, which is a significant advantage for guests traveling by car.
The Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel garners mixed reviews, with its location and river views being consistently strong positives. Guests often appreciate the proximity to downtown Louisville attractions and the scenic setting. The presence of an indoor pool and hot tub (when operational) is also a desired feature. Some guests have praised certain staff members for being friendly and helpful, particularly when specific issues were resolved effectively. The convenient connection to nearby restaurants like Hooters has also been noted as a plus for dining options.
However, recent customer feedback highlights significant and concerning issues that severely impact the overall guest experience. Several reviews describe the rooms as outdated and in "dire need of maintenance," with specific complaints about "small beds," "uncomfortable and Loud springs," "evidence of water Leak and Poor attempt at Repair" on ceilings, and stained carpets. The lack of in-room refrigerators and microwaves in most rooms is a frequent point of frustration. Customer service receives particularly strong negative feedback, with reports of unresponsiveness ("They don't answer their phones"), sarcastic replies from front desk staff, unprofessional conduct (overhearing staff discussing guests), and a general lack of apology or proactive problem-solving, even when serious issues like scalding water temperatures or unaddressed maintenance requests (e.g., broken shower rods, uncleaned rooms) arise. Safety concerns, such as a "slippery" pool deck and the alarming incident of a "wheelchair stolen off the back of our car in the parking lot," further diminish the perceived security and value of the stay. These widespread issues significantly contradict the initial upscale appearance of the lobby and the brand's reputation, leading to strong recommendations from some guests to "Do Not Stay" and expressing no intention of returning.
As a Marriott property, the Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program. Guests can earn and redeem points for stays, and Bonvoy members often receive exclusive rates and benefits. While specific, active promotions are dynamic and best confirmed directly with the hotel or via the Marriott website, common offers available through Marriott and potentially applicable here include discounted rates for AAA/CAA members, senior citizens, and government/military personnel. Marriott frequently runs seasonal promotions, suchs as bonus point offers or discounts for extended stays. For instance, the hotel's official page on Marriott.com or other booking platforms may list current deals. To inquire about the most current promotional packages, corporate rates, or group discounts, travelers are encouraged to contact the Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel directly at (812) 284-6711 or +1 812-284-6711. Utilizing these channels ensures guests receive the most accurate and up-to-date information on available offers for their stay. However, given the prevalent negative feedback, potential guests should consider the stated issues alongside any promotional offers.

Mar 29, 2025 · Adam MacNeilleNice pool, and hot tub, and restaurants near by, but thats it. The customer service is BAD. They don't answer thier phones. When we checked in, got a room on 5th floor, and the water in the shower had 2 temperatures, burn your skin hot, and leaving blisters hot. So they had the maintenance man check our room, he confirmed we'd have to change rooms, and even said to my wife that he could see how red her skin was from the water temperature. It took us 10 times to finally reach someone at the desk, about that issue. So we had to move to the 7th floor. At no time did the front staff people apologize. We went downstairs and asked the cleark about the the phones, why she didn't answer, she (Cari ) sarcastically replied "I heard it ring", so basically saying she didn't want to answer, so instead I had to go downstairs to talk to them from the 7th floor about another issue. Meanwhile she was sitting at the bar talking to the employee. When I asked her if she had a card, she rudely said "NO". I also overheard her talking about my wife, who had red skin from the hot shower temperatures from our first room to the bar attendant, which is unprofessional. Do Not Stay. They have a lot of restaurants in the area, but no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms, unless you stay on the 9th or 10th floor, other than that, the only microwave is in the lobby.
May 11, 2025 · Mamma BearGreat price for a nice room for the night with great views. Our last stay we got the room next to the elevator room on the club level and the elevators are rather loud. You can hear the equipment anytime someone calls an elevator on any floor. Also, both faucets in the bathroom are apparently plumbed for hot water so you’ll want to make sure you take advantage of the bottled water unless you like brushing your teeth with hot water. Would love to see the hotel add EV charging soon, as we’ll continue to stay here, just in a different room next time.
Jan 02, 2025 · DavidVERY BAD. Photos speak for themselves… I was put in a club level suite on the 10th floor. Spacious room, amazing view. BUT (!!!): - the noise of the elevator would not let me sleep (you can hear it in the video) - cockroach upon arrival - bathroom falls apart The location IS good and ladies in the front desk very very nice to me. But the hotel condition was unbearable and I had to leave early.
Mar 28, 2025 · Anastasiia UrsovaThe rooms are in pretty good shape, although our dispensers were empty. The biggest problem we had was their customer service. We chose this hotel because the website said they offered a free shuttle. When we checked in, we asked about a shuttle and they confirmed they could provide one for us the next day to the convention center. However, the following morning when we requested a shuttle to the convention center that is 1 ½ miles away, they told us they couldn’t take us because their shuttle could only go 1 mile.
