Was here for the Easter Brunch. The I only thing good i can say is that the view was very nice. The buffet was empty when we got there at 12:45pm. The only food available was ham and a salad. The food was bought out like every 30 minutes it was never full. They also didn't have all the food that was advertised on the menu ( about 4 things were not on the already small buffet. The waitress hardly ever came to check on us or bring the drink I ordered I went and got it myself. When I asked why all the food advertised was not on the menu I was told there was an issue with the ordering but he said he could bring me a cup of fruit salad but there was not enough for the buffet. The food that did make it out was not hot nor very good. You think they would have lowered the price since it was not as advertised but they didn't they also included the gratuity for a party of 3 when we didn't receive any service. Definitely would not be back or recommend.

Silver Birches Introduce

For those searching the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for a distinct resort experience in the Pocono Mountains, Silver Birches offers a compelling option. Located at 205 PA-507, Hawley, PA 18428, USA, this resort is perfectly situated to provide a serene lakeside retreat. You can reach them directly at (570) 226-4388 or via mobile at +1 570-226-4388. Silver Birches is part of the esteemed Settler's Hospitality group, known for its collection of unique and charming properties in the region.

The environment of Silver Birches is undoubtedly one of its strongest assets. Situated directly on the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack, guests are treated to stunning lakefront views, which are repeatedly highlighted as a major positive. The resort is designed to capitalize on its natural surroundings, offering a tranquil and picturesque setting ideal for relaxation and connecting with nature. The overall ambiance is described as relaxed and quaint, embodying the spirit of the Poconos. This is not a bustling, high-energy resort, but rather one that promotes a low-keyed and peaceful escape. The immediate area around Hawley and Lake Wallenpaupack is renowned for its natural beauty, offering opportunities for boating, fishing, and enjoying the scenic walking trails, such as the one extending from the dam to the Tafton dike. The presence of trees, the expansive lake, and the general calm contribute to a very appealing environment for those seeking a getaway from the everyday.

Silver Birches provides a range of services designed to enhance the guest experience, reflecting its status as a resort. Key among these is the on-site dining. The "Dock" restaurant is a prominent feature, offering guests the convenience of a great meal without having to leave the property. The unique interior, including a boat, adds to its charm. Another highly appreciated service is the complimentary continental breakfast, which includes items like yogurt, granola, muffins, pastries, orange juice, apples, and hard-boiled eggs. Guests have the option to have it delivered to their room or pick it up from the office. A delightful and unique service is the daily "sunset champagne toast," where guests can simply collect a glass of champagne from the office, even on cloudy or rainy evenings, adding a touch of elegance to the end of the day. As part of Settler's Hospitality, Silver Birches also offers an activities calendar that often includes events and amenities at its sister properties, such as history chats and wine tastings at Settler's Inn, providing guests with a wider range of experiences.

The features of the accommodations at Silver Birches contribute significantly to its appeal. Guest reviews indicate that rooms, such as the luxury king suite, are spacious and well-appointed. A key feature is the lakefront view available from many rooms, which is a major draw. Rooms come equipped with modern conveniences like a microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and a refrigerator, allowing for in-room refreshments. A fireplace adds to the cozy ambiance, particularly during cooler seasons. A standout feature for many guests is the presence of a hot tub within the room, offering a private spa-like experience. Expansive decks are available for enjoying the lake view and outdoor relaxation, particularly for ground-floor rooms in buildings like "Sunset." Beyond the individual rooms, the resort also boasts a lovely library/sitting area behind the office, complete with a fireplace, books, games, and interesting decor reflecting the resort's history. While some standard resort amenities like a pool might be seasonal, the overall focus is on providing a comfortable, luxurious, and relaxing stay with a strong connection to the lakeside environment. The resort is geared towards a relaxed and quaint spirit rather than a super fancy, high-energy environment.

Promotional information for Silver Birches would undoubtedly highlight its prime lakefront location on Lake Wallenpaupack and its status as a tranquil Poconos retreat. The resort's membership in the Settler's Hospitality group would be a key selling point, implying a certain standard of quality and access to a broader network of unique experiences. Promotions would likely emphasize the stunning views, the convenience of the on-site "Dock" restaurant, and unique touches like the continental breakfast and the sunset champagne toast. The availability of in-room hot tubs and fireplaces would be significant features highlighted to attract guests seeking a luxurious and relaxing stay. Promotional campaigns would also likely mention the proximity to other local attractions in Hawley and Honesdale, such as the Wallenpaupack Visitor Center and its walking trail. Seasonal promotions would be common, focusing on summer lake activities, vibrant fall foliage, or cozy winter getaways. While specific discounts aren't detailed, online booking portals and the resort's direct website would be the primary avenues for discovering current offers and packages. The overall marketing message would revolve around offering a charming, relaxed, and intimate experience, a stark contrast to larger, more impersonal resorts, appealing to those who appreciate nature, a lovely lake setting, and friendly, accommodating staff.

However, an objective introduction necessitates addressing all available feedback. One guest's experience at an Easter Brunch revealed significant issues. The buffet was reportedly empty or sparsely replenished, with long waits for food that was not hot or particularly good. Critical advertised menu items were missing due to an "ordering issue." Service was described as minimal, with the waitress rarely checking on the party and a drink order needing self-retrieval. Despite the poor experience and missing items, the price was not lowered, and gratuity was automatically included for a party of three, despite a lack of service. This particular review highlights a potential inconsistency in service delivery, particularly during high-demand events, and a disconnect between advertised offerings and actual availability. While this specific review pertains to a dining event rather than a general stay, it is valuable information for potential guests, especially those considering dining options on-site. It suggests that while the property itself and its regular services (like breakfast and champagne toast) are well-regarded, specific event management or dining experiences might vary. Therefore, guests planning special events or relying heavily on particular dining services should consider inquiring beforehand or setting expectations based on such feedback. Despite this isolated negative experience, the overwhelming sentiment from another detailed review points to a highly positive overall stay, emphasizing the quality of the rooms, the beauty of the location, and the generally accommodating nature of the staff. This suggests that while a specific event might have had shortcomings, the core resort experience for overnight guests remains strong and aligns with its reputation as a relaxed, quaint, and enjoyable lakeside destination for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" for a Poconos escape.

First of all, I'm very sentimentally attached to the area because my parents had a timeshare at Tanglwood for many years, so coming back and staying right on the lake is an emotionally charged experience in and of itself. That said, this was the first time - after having passed the place for countless times over the years - that we actually stayed there. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed there from May 12-16. The luxury king suite was a great room, and the lakefront view speaks for itself. The two chairs near the window are very comfortable. The only thing that would have made it better would be a small hassock since there's no place to put your feet up unless sitting in bed. The other thing is that the room isn't really what I'd call a "suite" compared to other places we've stayed at in that there's no separation between bed and living area, but that didn't bother us. The room is large and has everything you'd want - microwave, keurig, fridge, fireplace - including a hot tub (used it every night!). The expansive deck for sitting out on, or just enjoying the lake view, is for the 3 rooms in the ground floor of the "Sunset" building that we were in. The "Dock" restaurant on the premises was terrific - ate there twice. (How many restaurants actually have a boat inside?!) Always nice not to have to drive anywhere to get a great meal. And, right up the road is another terrific restaurant: the "Boathouse". There are many interesting places to visit in the immediate area between Hawley and Honesdale. Definitely check out the Wallenpaupack Visitor Center. There's a lovely walking trail that runs along the lake all the way from the dam to the Tafton dike. We really appreciated the continental breakfast - yogurt, granola, muffins and another pastry that was always very good, orange juice, an apple, and hard-boiled egg. They'll gladly bring it to your room or you can simply go over to the office, get the tray, and take it back to your room. Then there's the "sunset champagne toast" in the evening. Again, just stop over to the office and they'll give you a glass of champagne! Most delightful even on cloudy / rainy evenings (and we had several last week!). There is also an activities calendar of things to do either there or at one of the other "Settler's Hospitality" properties, of which Silver Birches is one. We greatly enjoyed the history chat and wine tasting that was provided on Thursday evening at Settler's Inn (which also has great food and is an amazingly charming place inside). There is also the lovely library / sitting area right behind the Silver Birches office that you can enjoy anytime - also with a fireplace, lots of books, games available to use, and very interesting decor - some of which reflects their proud history. If you want a super fancy Caeser's type of resort, then you're at the wrong place though. Silver Birches offers the same relaxed and quaint spirit of the Poconos that I always knew and appreciated. My vote is a resounding yes if you like nature, being at a lovely lake, and a relaxed and low-keyed resort that has friendly and very accommodating staff. It was still quiet season - pool not open yet as well as other activities - but I'm told things really gear up after Memorial Day. Give it a try and I can't imagine you'll be disappointed.

Went to NYE celebration here for 2024 and paid $170 as a couple only to end up leaving at 10:30pm out of frustration. Showed up early on accident due to a time mixup to have one of the older female bar tenders be rude to us. Our waiter "Charles" was horrible. It was a struggle just to get pitchers of water to our table and half an hour between checking up on us. No clearing of dishes and cold food. Food was also under whelming. Seemed extremely understaffed. Would never go here again.

Really bad experience shower not even a heater there and hot water in the shower not even works properly too hot or cold i reporter it and not even they fix it , not bottles water and room service doesn’t even exist there, breakfast you better bring your own because that’s a joke, yogurt small apple and mash pudding , just search for a place is many of them even better price and good service,in silver bar i just went for drinks and a few appetizers that’s all. Nothing to comment not matters, how many years been on business ? I will never go back to that place that’s for sure. Thank you.

Solid overall. View is great. Pictures make everything look quite a bit better than they actually are (rooms and restaurant), a bit worn down. Not as relaxing as expected, as the speakers for the bar are directly next to you if you’re staying above the communal area. Bonfire area is nice.
