Bad: Hot tub is almost always broken. If you ask about it, the dour manager, a man named Chris, gets rude and defensive. His horrible attitude is bad but worse, he wears open toed sandals which I felt was unprofessional and unsanitary. His quite elderly aunt and uncle are very nice, VERY sweet, but they're the "housekeeping team" for the entire property! Good: Breakfast team is excellent, especially the woman. It's always very friendly and decent options from fresh fruit to hot biscuits, sausage, waffles, and nonstop coffee. Easy location to/from airport. Property is usually quiet.
For Wisconsin residents, finding a reliable and convenient hotel near a major travel hub like Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport is a frequent necessity, whether for personal travel or to host family and friends. The Sleep Inn & Suites Milwaukee Airport is a hotel that promises to fulfill this need with its location and amenities. However, as with any local business, it is vital to understand the full picture, including both the praised aspects and the more challenging experiences that guests have shared. This article is crafted for the local user, offering a balanced and informative guide based on available public data. We will explore the hotel's key attributes, from its practical location and range of services to the real-world guest experiences, helping you make a well-informed decision for your next stay.
The Sleep Inn & Suites brand is part of the Choice Hotels family, known for providing consistent and value-oriented lodging. This particular Milwaukee location is often highlighted for its practical convenience and specific amenities that resonate with travelers. As one review notes, the "Breakfast team is excellent" and the breakfast itself offers "decent options from fresh fruit to hot biscuits, sausage, waffles, and nonstop coffee," which is a significant plus for anyone starting their day. The hotel is also frequently described as "usually quiet" and its location is praised as an "Easy location to/from airport." These positive points are crucial for a guest who is primarily there to get a good night's sleep before an early flight or to relax after a long journey. The hotel’s general ambiance and services are designed to meet these fundamental needs efficiently.
However, it would be disingenuous not to address the challenges raised by other customers. The detailed reviews provided highlight some serious issues, including broken amenities like a hot tub and an ice machine, cleanliness concerns in the bathroom, and a strong odor in a room. Furthermore, some guests have reported unsatisfactory interactions with management and a lack of staff knowledge regarding loyalty programs. While a long-term guest praised a "very friendly" breakfast team, another visitor described a manager with a "horrible attitude." For a local user considering this hotel, these contrasting experiences are important to weigh. They suggest that while some aspects of the hotel's service and amenities are excellent, others may be inconsistent. This is the kind of insight a local resident needs to have in order to manage expectations and, if necessary, be prepared to address issues directly with the hotel staff. The hotel's value is in its functionality and core offerings, but guests should be aware that the overall experience can be mixed.

Jul 22, 2025 · Lisa JonesWe have stayed here multiple times and I don’t know if it’s under new management or what changed, but we will not be returning. To start the gentleman at the desk had no idea how to work. The choice rewards program, he told me I was getting a discount, but then the other gentleman told me that it was just going to my points balance. Then we get up to our room and our smacked in the face with the strongest odor of curry I have ever smelt. I don’t mind it, but my clothing shouldn’t smell like it when I leave my hotel room. We barely had enough towels for the two of us, and when I asked the cleaning lady she had no idea what was going on. The ice machine on the second floor was broken back in April when we stayed, it’s still broken. There were pubes all over our bathroom, mainly the bathtub and somehow intertwined into our washcloths. Our toilet randomly stopped working, then in the middle of the night there was all this banging and loud noises, I can only assume it was the pipes beginning to work again, which also woke me up at 4:30 in the morning. Thankfully, we were literally only there to sleep, because the hassle of moving 2 adult and a 4 month old with all of our belongings doesn’t sound appealing, especially when these room should be clean and odor free. BREAKFAST IS A JOKE!!! Lastly, for whatever reason this hotel switched away from the remotes they had back in April so we could no longer use our Apple box to watch movies, which obviously forced us to watch regular TV… But we couldn’t even do that because the signal was lost every 3 minutes! Sucks that this was such a crappy experience and we felt it literally wouldn’t be worth mentioning it to the people at the desk based on the conversations we had previously and limited staff knowledge. The location is perfect when we’re visiting family, guess we’ll be hotel shopping!
Jul 20, 2025 · Ashley M.The lady that checked me in and my shuttle driver were friendly and quick. My room was clean and I actually had a good view. Lots of food nearby but it is about 15 mins from most fun city spots. It's great if you want to he near the airport and have free breakfast though
Jun 12, 2025 · Latisha “Hungry Hiker Hodgepodge” MWe picked this hotel for convenience to the airport and price. Our flight was going to be too early for breakfast or a shuttle, but this was close to the Saver Parking Lot and the price was decent. Check-in was fast and friendly. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower had good water-pressure and a curved shower curtain. We left before the breakfast began, but they had breakfast-to-go bags available and check-out was super-friendly and fast. The parking was decent and there are a lot of restaurants near-by. I'd have to problem staying here again the next time we need a hotel near the airport.
Apr 09, 2025 · Patrick DemingBreakfast was amazing. We came across an overworked staff who was managing the breakfast all by himself at the peak hours. He did an amazing job. But something was wrong with the plumbing on the 3rd floor of our room. That was the only disappointment. Other than that everything was perfect. Hope they rectify the issue.
