For individuals searching on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform for accommodation in the Johnstown/Gloversville area, the Super 8 by Wyndham Johnstown/Gloversville presents itself as a budget-friendly option. Located at 301 N Comrie Ave, Johnstown, NY 12095, USA, this hotel is part of the widely recognized Super 8 brand, aiming to provide essential comforts at an accessible price point. Prospective guests can contact the hotel directly at (518) 336-5656 or +1 518-336-5656 for reservations and inquiries.
When considering the environment of Super 8 by Wyndham Johnstown/Gloversville, the available reviews present a somewhat contrasting picture. While no direct comments on the aesthetic appearance or general ambiance of the building are provided, one guest's experience of being accommodated after a fire suggests a certain level of understanding and flexibility from the hotel. This implies an environment that, at least in some circumstances, aims to be supportive and accommodating to guests in need. However, the severe complaint regarding the handling of housekeeping tips, which is a significant concern for staff morale and potentially for the quality of room cleaning, indirectly reflects on the overall care and maintenance of the environment. If housekeeping staff are not properly incentivized or are being deprived of their earnings, it could lead to a decline in the thoroughness of cleaning and upkeep, impacting the guest environment. The general expectation for a Super 8 by Wyndham property is a basic, clean, and functional environment, suitable for short stays or travelers seeking economical lodging. The location on N Comrie Ave suggests a roadside motel setting, likely with convenient access to major roads and local amenities.
The services at Super 8 by Wyndham Johnstown/Gloversville elicit significantly mixed feedback, with a particular focus on staff interactions. On one hand, there is a highly positive account of "very considerate" assistance provided to a couple who lost their apartment in a fire. The hotel reportedly offered them "a good rate to get by," demonstrating a commendable level of empathy and practical support. This instance highlights a positive aspect of the hotel's service, where staff went above and beyond to help guests during a difficult time. However, a contrasting and highly concerning review details severe issues with service, particularly involving a "front desk woman" who was described as "very very rude to us any time we had a question or concern." This review also alleges unethical practices regarding housekeeping tips, claiming that housekeeping "has never received a single electronic tip" and that "if cash is left the front desk woman will run to the room first and get it." These accusations, if true, represent a serious breach of ethical conduct and can severely undermine trust in the hotel's management and operations. Such behavior, if consistent, would significantly detract from the guest experience, making guests feel unwelcomed or disrespected. The disparity in service experiences suggests potential inconsistencies in staff training or management oversight.
Regarding the features of Super 8 by Wyndham Johnstown/Gloversville, the provided reviews do not offer extensive details. As a Super 8 by Wyndham, it typically adheres to brand standards that include essential features such as complimentary Wi-Fi, basic guest rooms with a bed, television, and private bathroom. Many Super 8 locations also offer complimentary breakfast, though this specific amenity is not mentioned in the provided reviews. The focus of the reviews is more on the interpersonal service and perceived ethical issues rather than physical room amenities. The "good rate" mentioned in the positive review suggests that the hotel aims to offer competitive pricing for its features, aligning with its budget-friendly brand positioning. However, the lack of information on specific in-room amenities, common areas like a pool or fitness center, or business facilities means that potential guests would need to inquire directly with the hotel to confirm these features. The core offering appears to be a no-frills, practical place to stay.
In terms of promotional information, Super 8 by Wyndham is known for its value-driven approach, often promoting affordable rates for travelers seeking basic accommodation. While no specific promotions are detailed in the provided reviews, the positive mention of "a good rate" during a time of need suggests that the hotel is willing to offer flexible pricing or compassionate considerations in certain situations. For individuals searching on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, Super 8 by Wyndham properties are typically marketed as reliable and economical choices. It is always recommended for prospective guests to contact the hotel directly at (518) 336-5656 or +1 518-336-5656 to inquire about current rates, any ongoing discounts, or special packages that might be available. Given the highly contrasting reviews regarding staff service, it would be prudent for guests to consider booking directly and perhaps discussing any specific concerns they may have based on online feedback.
The strategic location of Super 8 by Wyndham Johnstown/Gloversville at 301 N Comrie Ave, Johnstown, NY, places it along a key route, offering convenience for travelers. For users of the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, this location ensures that the hotel appears as a readily accessible option for those visiting or passing through the Johnstown and Gloversville areas. Its accessibility to major roads and local points of interest is a practical advantage, especially for those traveling by car. However, proximity alone does not guarantee a positive experience, as highlighted by the conflicting nature of the service reviews.
In conclusion, Super 8 by Wyndham Johnstown/Gloversville, available on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, presents a mixed bag of guest experiences. While one account highlights exceptional consideration and flexibility from the hotel in a difficult situation, indicating a potential for compassionate service, another review details serious concerns about rude staff behavior and alleged unethical practices regarding housekeeping tips. The environment is likely basic and functional, aligning with the Super 8 brand's budget positioning, but specific cleanliness or noise levels are not consistently detailed beyond general implications from service issues. As for features, the hotel offers standard amenities expected of a budget motel, though comprehensive details are not provided in the reviews. Prospective guests should weigh the potential for a considerate rate against the significant concerns raised about staff conduct. It is advisable to contact the hotel directly to confirm specific features and inquire about any ongoing promotions, while also being mindful of the highly divergent feedback on service quality before making a booking decision for a stay in Johnstown, NY.

May 03, 2025 · Floyd EgglestonAfter speaking to a few different workers and other patrons we found out the poor house keeping has never received a single electronic tip and if cash is left the front desk woman will run to the room first and get it she was very very rude to us any time we had a question or concern I do not recommend staying here if u can find a much better hotel
May 12, 2025 · Kristian “DapperAnarchist” LeeDidnt end up getting a room here,on way through lobby door was some shady looking guy standing there smoking pot. It might be legal but guests shouldn't have to walk through the smoke to get in lobby
Apr 03, 2025 · Keith ShirleyIt was a nice place to a certain degree. We went Sunday 4/7/24-4/8/24. The bed was comfortable, it was somewhat clean except we found a used rubber and wrapper in the one nightstand. GROSS!!! My sons stayed at one room and me and my daughter in another. They had a complimentary (bagel, muffins, donuts) breakfast which was good but the coffee was weak The price was great and it was one of the few available at that time since a lot of people were staying for the eclipse.
Apr 09, 2024 · Linda CahoonIf you value safety and comfort, stay away from this hotel. This hotel operates more like a semi-flop house for those living below the poverty line rather than a reputable lodging facility. It’s one of three options within a one-mile radius from Holiday Inn and Microtel. The "breakfast included" is misleading. If you're lucky, you'll find coffee, juice, some form of bread, or a packaged muffin. This is unacceptable to call breakfast. The TV in our room was broken and replaced with a computer monitor. Additionally, the drawers in the nightstand were broken and falling out. The door locks are old-style chains that are not properly secured. The A/C did not sufficiently cool the room, and there was no closet. Overall the hotel and rooms are dark and dated. Due to significant travel delays, we communicated our concerns with Sue from the hotel. We couldn't arrive until a day later and requested a courtesy credit for the previous night upon check-in. Bill informed us he would speak to the manager. However, upon check-out, we hadn't received any response. When we inquired about the credit, Sue was snarky and unprofessional. She refused to give us the manager's number, claiming it was his personal phone, but assured us he would call us. It has been five days, and our concerns have not been addressed, nor have we been contacted. The manager is disengaged with both his staff and customers and is absent from the property. The property is operated by Diya-Sun Inc. I highly recommend the newer, cleaner Microtel down the street with all its amenities or the Holiday Inn across the street. You’re welcome!
