A Little Disappointed My wife and I stayed over Memorial Day weekend to take advantage of the long weekend. The staff was very friendly and welcoming upon arrival, and the view from our room was absolutely breathtaking. That said, the hotel itself felt a bit dated. While it has charm, some updates—especially in the rooms—would go a long way in improving the overall experience. We had dinner at the chalet restaurant and were told the kitchen was running behind, which was understandable. However, it took over an hour for our entrées to arrive, and unfortunately, they were disappointing. My wife’s meal was cold, and mine was lukewarm. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and didn’t check on us much. We considered ordering dessert but didn’t want to wait another hour. Later that night, we set the A/C to 65, but the room stayed warm. Despite adjusting the settings and eventually leaving the balcony door open to let in cooler air, we couldn’t get the room comfortable and didn’t sleep well. For the price we paid—for both the room and the food—the experience was underwhelming. It’s a beautiful resort with great potential, but it felt like they weren’t fully prepared for the holiday weekend.

May 16, 2025 · Josea WI was here with a small group of friends for a long weekend. It was my first time, and a repeat for some of the people. The location is glorious; you couldn't ask for a better view and there are so many ways to enjoy it and places to just sit and relax and read, have a drink, and chat while enjoying the outdoors and scenery. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and ambiance: it didn't feel tired, and it didn't feel aged - but it also maintained a personality and didn't succumb to contemporary trends. I had a very basic room and it was perfectly roomy and comfortable. I quite liked being in the main lodge because you're so close to everything while still feeling a sense of privacy. The shops were cute and I was delighted to find they were open whenever I needed. There's also a really neat bookstore right down the road that you can't miss! What's so nice about a place like this Inn is the fact that there are restaurants with a variety of food available. We did have some issues one night (I received someone else's rare filet and I'm pretty sure they received my medium flat iron steak), and breakfast Sunday morning was extremely slow to seat, even though they weren't busy - possibly short-staffed? (we arrived in plenty of time before checkout, but ended up cutting it extremely close because of this) - I still would recommend eating on site for most, if not all meals. Food was always tasty, if not delicious, and the service was always excellent! I would absolutely love to return again.
May 30, 2025 · Rachel EarlIt's a great place to relax. If you're planning to hike, don't come now in 4/2025. Blue ridge Parkway is closed from both sides. You can go to Linville where there are some short hikes you can do. Food here is average in quality and expensive, but good vibes. For solos, Diamondback is a good option and affordable.
Apr 27, 2025 · Mais KassasWe spent the night here and it was so beautiful. The view is amazing. The rooms are comfy. The pool and Jacuzzis are nice. There are a few restaurants on site. Several shops with ice cream, candy, coffee and 2 bars. Little Switzerland in so beautiful. You've got to see it to believe it.
