Total dump!! Worst accommodations we've ever booked. Counter in bathroom was falling apart, Dirty disgusting floors, drawers to dresser remained open and wouldn't close. When I booked it stated balcony. ..when we arrived we got a small window that was inches from the ceiling. The room was clearly something out of a bad horror movie...and the perfect place for a great murder scene! 10 minutes in the room and we demanded a refund! You'd be better off in any one of the dive motels on the strip..
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Atlantic City, The Annex at the Chelsea often appears as an option, particularly for those looking for a more budget-conscious stay within proximity to the city's main attractions. Located at 111 S Chelsea Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401, USA, The Annex positions guests conveniently close to the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk and the bustling beach scene. The hotel's phone number is (609) 428-4380 and mobile phone is +1 609-428-4380.
The Annex at the Chelsea operates as an adjacent section to the main Chelsea Hotel, offering a distinct experience that is generally described as a more "low-frills, cost-conscious" alternative. While it shares some facilities with the larger Chelsea Hotel, it’s important for prospective guests to understand that the accommodation style and amenities within The Annex itself differ significantly from the more upscale "Luxe Tower" of the Chelsea. The Annex is noted for its retro 1950s-style bathrooms in all rooms, and some rooms may feature a balcony, though guests should verify room specifics during booking as some reviews indicate discrepancies between booked room descriptions and actual accommodations received.
As a guest at The Annex, you are typically granted access to many of the facilities offered by the main Chelsea Hotel. This often includes access to its saltwater swimming pool, a rooftop pool, a solarium, and a spa, providing opportunities for relaxation and leisure. For those looking to maintain their fitness routine, a fitness center is also usually available. Business travelers might find the onsite business facilities and meeting/banquet rooms useful. Dining options associated with the larger Chelsea property, such as Teplitzky's deli (offering diner-inspired dishes) and Dining on the Fifth (continental cuisine in a 1920s ambiance), can be a convenient addition for guests. A poolside bar is also typically available beside the rooftop pool, offering a place to unwind with a drink.
The environment surrounding The Annex at the Chelsea is characteristic of Atlantic City's vibrant boardwalk area. It is situated just a short walk from many of Atlantic City's famed casinos, including Tropicana Casino & Resort Atlantic City and Caesars. The Boardwalk Hall is less than ten minutes away on foot, and the Playground Pier shopping mall is also easily accessible. This central location is often highlighted by guests as a significant advantage, allowing for easy exploration of the city's entertainment, dining, and shopping options. The hotel is also relatively close to the Atlantic City Convention Center, making it a viable option for those attending events there.
Regarding services, The Annex generally offers amenities such as room service (during limited hours), express check-out, and a 24-hour front desk. Complimentary Wi-Fi is typically available in both public areas and within the guest rooms, allowing guests to stay connected. In-room amenities often include a TV with on-demand content, a work desk, hairdryer, and air conditioning. Housekeeping services are provided daily. The staff, including multilingual staff and a doorman, aims to provide friendly service to guests. Concierge services are also usually on hand to assist with local information and arrangements.
However, it is crucial to present an objective view, and online reviews from real customers provide significant insight into the actual guest experience at The Annex. A recurring theme in numerous reviews points to concerns regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms within The Annex section. Guests have reported issues such as dirty floors, broken furniture (including dressers and counters), unpleasant odors, and malfunctioning amenities like air conditioning and toilets. Some guests have expressed disappointment when their rooms, despite being booked with specific expectations (e.g., balconies), turned out to have small windows or be significantly different from what was advertised or implied. The distinction between the "Luxe Tower" of The Chelsea and "The Annex" is a key point highlighted by some guests, with a strong preference often expressed for the former due to perceived differences in quality and upkeep. While some guests have praised the location and the responsiveness of the front desk staff in addressing issues like room changes, the overall impression from a notable portion of customer feedback suggests that the condition of the rooms in The Annex can be a significant drawback. It's important to note that cleanliness scores from various review platforms for The Annex tend to be considerably lower than other aspects like location.
Promotional information, based on its classification as a budget-friendly option, often emphasizes its convenient location and access to the shared facilities of the main Chelsea Hotel. For those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" with a primary focus on affordability and proximity to the boardwalk and casinos, The Annex at the Chelsea aims to provide a functional base. Potential guests should be aware that while it may offer a more economical price point, the trade-off, according to various guest accounts, can be in the quality and upkeep of the individual rooms within The Annex building itself. Therefore, it is advisable for prospective guests to manage their expectations regarding the interior condition and amenities of The Annex specifically, even while considering the benefits of its shared facilities and prime Atlantic City location. When looking for deals, various travel aggregators and hotel booking sites may offer competitive rates for The Annex, and it's always recommended to compare prices across platforms and read recent reviews carefully before booking.

Aug 15, 2015 · Bobstock NJThis place was so dirty. We went through 3 different rooms, the first one the toilet wouldn't flush, it was super dirty the dresser was broken, the second room they gave us has 2 small beds instead of a king so they moved us to a 3rd room. The air conditioning didn't work and it was so hot in there trying to sleep it was gross. The rooms smelled. The people at the front desk were very good about giving us new rooms though
Oct 28, 2015 · KelseyOne star because I can't give it no stars. The "Oasis King" was far from an oasis. The lobby fooled me into believing that I was getting ready to spend a night in a decent place. The closer I got to the to tower where my room was the more dingy the place became. The elevators were dated, smelled bad, and were not so clean. The hallways were musky and moist;a perfect breeding ground for mold. Room 202 was the nastiest room I've ever stepped foot into. What a waste of $400! The ambiance of the room was not so inviting. Stains on the furniture, an unnecessary amount of dust, and an unbelievably disgusting bathroom. While taking a shower, I was greeted by a dead roach which was in the tub with me. I have no idea where it came from must've washed off the curtains or something. I almost lost my damn mind! Overall, this place truly ruined my first experience at Atlantic City.
Aug 23, 2016 · Junette WatsonI stayed at the Annex at The Chelsea hotel located in Atlantic City. Upon our arrival the receptionist was standoffish, proceeded to the room the floors was very dirty this was a short quick trip for my son and I so we had no intention to spend a lot of time in the room so we moved forward. What actually put the icing on the cake was the following morning my son use the bathroom, apparently the guest prior may have left a soap in the toilet so it clogged and overflowed. My requests for move another room was denied when I was asked if I was spending another night and I responded no. We left and came back 2 hours later the bathroom was never cleaned there was feces all over the toilet. Unfortunately for us we had the same receptionist and she was very rude,I am still waiting on a call back from the manager. I will never stay at this hotel again nor would I recommended it to anyone. This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had.
Aug 15, 2015 · sexyng 1This place is horrible the people at the front desk have the worst attitudes they don't understand that your customers are important. The room are so dirty they need to hire new cleaning people. They don't clean mirrors or Windows they just don't clean went back to my room it looked the same as I left it sheets were not changed floor was not cleaned bathroom looked the same as well They SUCK. I'm also calling to tell them about my deposit, (oh yeah they have you put $125 deposit down & it doesn't state any of that on their website) & my card states they took out so much money & they are saying that my bank statement is wrong that it makes no sense & they are not trying to resolve the issue or help me they keep giving you an attitude & hanging up. You have to pay for parking & they don't state that either just a overall sucky experience I wouldn't advise that ANYONE ever steps foot on this hotel so not worth the headache.
