We were told ahead of time that we could pay $25 for garage parking. After arriving, we realized the garage was tiny and full. They also have an extra parking lot about 2 blocks away. Their extra lot was also full. The company responded quickly to my questions about parking but told me that its “first come first serve” for parking and advised me to go to other lots in the area. The closest lot was next to a shady liquor store and the spots were mostly filled by u-haul trucks. After watching a man leave the liquor store and check all the truck doors and then enter an unlocked truck he found, I decided to keep looking. The second closest place they recommended was pretty far away and was a restaurant parking lot. I didn’t like that option either, so I drove in circles for over an hour looking for street parking and hoping one of the garage or lot spaces would open. I have previously worked as a valet and I have experience driving in big cities like Chicago and New York, but I could not find a safe place to park within a reasonable walking distance on this busy Saturday night. After becoming frustrated, I decided to go to a hotel with garage parking. The Eighteen offered no discount or refund on the booking even though we were not able to use it. If you go on a quiet night and parking is available, I’m sure you will enjoy the apartment well enough. But if you need to park, there is a small chance you will have a terrible experience and the property managers will respond to you but offer very little in the way of helpful advice or any kind of refund if you are unhappy. I recommend Waymore’s Hotel instead. It was way more better with parking.

The Eighteen, a Locale Aparthotel Introduce

Welcome to Nashville, Tennessee, a city known for its vibrant music scene, delicious food, and Southern charm. If you're planning a visit, whether for business or pleasure, finding the right accommodation is key to a memorable experience. Today, we're taking a closer look at a unique option that's gaining popularity among travelers seeking more than just a standard hotel room: The Eighteen, a Locale Aparthotel.

The Eighteen, a Locale Aparthotel, offers a refreshing take on traditional lodging. Unlike typical hotels, aparthotels combine the comforts and space of a residential apartment with the convenience and services you’d expect from a hotel. This innovative concept is particularly appealing to those who prefer a more independent stay, offering a sense of home while exploring all that Nashville has to offer. For locals perhaps hosting out-of-town guests or even considering a "staycation," understanding what The Eighteen provides can be incredibly helpful.

Location and Accessibility

The Eighteen, a Locale Aparthotel, is strategically located at 18 Mcferrin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206, USA. This address places it in a dynamic part of Nashville, offering a blend of local neighborhood charm and convenient access to the city's famous attractions. One of the key advantages of this location, as noted by some visitors, is its good walking distance to various stores and bars, making it easy to grab essentials or enjoy an evening out without needing to drive.

While not right in the heart of the bustling downtown area, its proximity allows for a relatively easy drive into town, ensuring you’re never too far from the action. This balance can be ideal for those who appreciate a slightly quieter base while still having quick access to the vibrant energy of Music City. Navigating Nashville can be a breeze from this spot, whether you prefer to drive or utilize ride-sharing services.

It's important for potential guests to be aware of the parking situation, which has been a point of discussion among previous visitors. While The Eighteen offers options for garage parking and an additional lot about two blocks away, these are on a "first come, first serve" basis. During busy periods, particularly on weekends, parking can be challenging. Some guests have reported difficulties finding available spots within reasonable walking distance and have had to seek alternative parking solutions in the surrounding area. If you plan to bring a vehicle, especially during peak times, it's advisable to factor in potential parking challenges and consider alternative transportation options or research nearby public parking facilities in advance.

Services Offered

While The Eighteen operates as an aparthotel, providing a more independent experience, it still offers services designed to enhance your stay. Based on the nature of an aparthotel and customer feedback, you can generally expect:

  • Spacious Accommodations: Unlike standard hotel rooms, units at The Eighteen are designed to be more like apartments, offering separate living, sleeping, and often kitchen areas. This provides ample space for relaxation and extended stays.

  • Self-Catering Facilities: A key feature of aparthotels is the inclusion of kitchenettes or full kitchens, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. This can be a significant cost-saver and offers flexibility, particularly for longer visits.

  • Housekeeping Services: While not daily like a traditional hotel, aparthotels typically offer periodic housekeeping services for longer stays, ensuring your space remains tidy and comfortable.

  • Responsive Management: Based on customer reviews, the property managers are generally responsive to guest inquiries and concerns, aiming to address issues in a timely manner. While solutions may vary depending on the issue, open communication is a consistent aspect of their service.

  • Digital Check-in/Access: Many modern aparthotels utilize streamlined digital check-in processes, offering convenience and flexibility for arrivals.

Features / Highlights

The Eighteen, a Locale Aparthotel, stands out for several features that contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable stay, particularly for those seeking a home-away-from-home experience in Nashville.

  • Clean and Spacious Units: A recurring theme in positive reviews highlights the cleanliness and spaciousness of the accommodations. Guests appreciate having more room to spread out compared to a typical hotel room, making for a more relaxed environment.

  • Residential Feel: The aparthotel concept itself is a major highlight. It offers the independence and privacy of an apartment, which is ideal for families, groups, or individuals on extended trips who prefer to live more like a local rather than a transient visitor.

  • Convenient Location for Exploration: As mentioned, its location provides a good balance. While not directly in the busiest tourist hubs, it offers easy access to local amenities like stores and bars within walking distance. This allows guests to experience a more authentic side of Nashville while still being a short drive from major attractions like the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, and Broadway's honky-tonks.

  • Suitable for Extended Stays: The fully equipped nature of the units, often including kitchens and separate living areas, makes The Eighteen particularly well-suited for longer visits to Nashville, offering comfort and convenience that a standard hotel room might lack over time.

Promotions or Special Offers

As The Eighteen operates as an aparthotel, specific promotions or special offers can vary frequently and are often tied to booking platforms or direct booking incentives. To discover any current promotions, it is highly recommended to:

  • Visit Their Official Website: Aparthotels often list their best rates and any direct booking discounts on their own websites.

  • Check Major Online Travel Agencies (OTAs): Platforms like Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb (where Locale Aparthotels often list their properties) frequently have special deals, seasonal discounts, or package offers.

  • Sign Up for Newsletters: If available, subscribing to their newsletter or Locale Aparthotel's general mailing list could provide early access to promotions.

  • Consider Off-Peak Travel: Like most accommodations, rates and availability of offers are often better during off-peak seasons or on weekdays.

It's always a good practice to compare prices across different platforms and check directly with The Eighteen or Locale Aparthotel for the most up-to-date and potentially exclusive offers before making a reservation.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For residents of Tennessee, particularly those in and around the Nashville area, The Eighteen, a Locale Aparthotel, presents a compelling option for several scenarios. It's not just for out-of-state tourists; this unique accommodation can be incredibly suitable for locals too.

Firstly, consider the "staycation" trend. Sometimes, a change of scenery is all you need to refresh, even if it's just a short drive from home. The Eighteen offers a distinct break from routine, allowing you to experience Nashville from a fresh perspective without the hassle of long-distance travel. The spacious, apartment-style units with kitchens mean you can enjoy a comfortable, self-sufficient getaway, perhaps exploring new parts of the city or revisiting favorite spots with a different base.

Secondly, The Eighteen is an excellent solution when you have out-of-town guests. Instead of cramming everyone into your home, or having them stay in a generic hotel room, The Eighteen provides a private, comfortable "home away from home" for your visitors. They get their own space, complete with kitchen facilities, allowing for a more relaxed and extended visit. This also gives them a taste of living like a local, which can be a much richer experience than a typical hotel stay.

Finally, for those undergoing home renovations, temporary relocations, or simply needing short-term accommodation within the city, The Eighteen offers a practical and comfortable alternative. Its apartment-like setup is far more conducive to daily living than a standard hotel, providing the space and amenities needed for a prolonged stay. While parking can be a consideration, especially on busy nights, the overall value of having a clean, spacious, and well-located temporary residence makes it a strong contender for various local needs. Its responsiveness to inquiries also adds a layer of comfort, knowing that assistance is available if needed. For a genuine Nashville experience with the comforts of home, The Eighteen, a Locale Aparthotel, is definitely worth considering.

We had a wonderful stay here. Very clean and spacious. Good walking distance to stores and bars. Not a bad drive into town. Would definitely stay here again!

We had high hopes for our stay with Locale at 18 McFerrin Avenue, but what we got was a loud, grimy, poorly maintained unit. From day one, we were kept up by the unit above us: stomping/running, dragging furniture, shouting—at all hours. After multiple complaints, we were told no one was staying above us. So either the building’s haunted or someone’s gaslighting us. Neither option is ideal. The dishwasher was broken and would shut off after only 5-10 minutes, no matter the setting. But that isn’t the kicker: it seems the cleaning staff are unaware of this and all the bowls and cups that were laid out for our use were actually crusted over due to the incomplete washing the dishwasher provides. Unfortunately, we didn't realize this until after spending two days trying to figure out why the dishwasher isn't cleaning the dishes...and then realizing that we have been drinking out of cups and using plates with the same crust on them. Quite the unpleasant revelation. I ended up hand-washing every single plate, bowl, cup, and piece of silverware just to feel remotely comfortable using the kitchen. When we reported it, the local rep offered to stop by and drop off new plates and “check out” the dishwasher? I had already cleaned everything myself and didnt want to host potentially multiple visits from repair people during our stay. More frustratingly, this clearly wasn’t a sudden issue. It was evident the dishwasher had been malfunctioning before we arrived—and yet no one had checked or done anything about it. The towels were stained. The in-unit washer/dryer seemed just as questionable. The bathroom light, and the loud groaning fan that accompanies it, would turn on by itself consistently throughout the day and night. All of this was reported. Little (nothing?) was resolved. We left early and requested a refund for the nights we didn’t use—were told the request was being expedited, but that was about a week ago now with no update. In short: if you’re paying for comfort, cleanliness, and peace of mind, look elsewhere. This place didn’t deliver on any of those for us.

The parking is nearly nonexistent. There are 4 spots under the building and only 5 or 6 spots down the alley, up the hill, from the hotel behind Up N Down. That is all the parking they have. There are some public parking areas around. One is behind the hotel and the other is about a 5 minute walk. Parking is a real struggle if you drive in. It is a nice room, although there is little soundproofing between floors and the outside. Plenty of food and bars around the hotel within walking distance.

Rooms/apartments are great, modern and with everything you need, and the location is convenient to restaurants and bars, with quick access to downtown. Only concern is that soundproofing could be better, this is not the quietest area, and if you are a light sleeper (like me), street noise can be an issue.
