Joyfully giving our 5 stars to The Franklin on Rittenhouse. We experienced their superior customer service before arriving and received exceptional service and attention every day of our stay. The whole vibe of this hotel is enchanting and we got to enjoy two different - but equally delightful - rooms after deciding to extend our stay. We were treated to an amazing dining experience our first night in town at The Love - a restaurant within walking distance of the hotel! Continental breakfast each morning was just right and cocktails in the Speakeasy/Bar outstanding. The host and entire team cared for our every need. Honestly, if there was an option to give 10 stars instead of 5 we'd do it! Highly recommend.

The environment of The Franklin on Rittenhouse is one of its most captivating aspects. Situated directly on Rittenhouse Square, it boasts an address that is considered among the most prestigious in Philadelphia. This area is a hub of high-end shopping, featuring luxury boutiques and popular retail stores. Reviews frequently highlight the staff's friendliness, helpfulness, and willingness to go "above and beyond to make me feel at home." The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and concierge services, ensuring round-the-clock assistance for guests. This personalized approach is a hallmark of boutique hotels and is a major draw for visitors. The concierge team possesses in-depth knowledge of the city, providing insider tips and recommendations for dining, entertainment, and cultural experiences. Complimentary offerings, such as a "continental breakfast each morning," which is often described as "just right" and includes options like smoked salmon, pastries, yogurt parfaits, and fresh fruit, further enhance the guest experience. Complimentary tea and coffee are also available in the lobby throughout the day. The hotel also provides daily housekeeping, laundry and dry cleaning services, express check-out, and luggage storage, ensuring convenience for guests during their stay. The features of The Franklin on Rittenhouse contribute significantly to its allure. The hotel comprises a limited number of "uniquely decorated" rooms and suites, each with its own distinct character, sometimes "inspired by France's Golden Age" or reflecting different historical figures. This individual design approach ensures that each stay feels fresh and delightful, even for repeat guests who might try "two different - but equally delightful - rooms" as one reviewer experienced. Rooms are equipped with modern comforts despite the historic setting, including flat-screen TVs (often 50-inch with cable channels), espresso makers, safes, and complimentary wireless internet access. The bathrooms are a highlight for many guests, often featuring rain shower heads, luxurious toiletries (like Molton Brown), bathrobes, and slippers, providing a spa-like ambiance. Soundproofed rooms contribute to the quiet atmosphere mentioned by guests.
Beyond the individual rooms, the hotel offers compelling common areas. A notable feature is its "Speakeasy/Bar," which guests describe as "outstanding." This "Prohibition-inspired art deco Lounge" offers creative cocktails, sometimes featuring an absinthe fountain, and provides an intimate and stylish setting for unwinding in the evening. While the specific on-site restaurant mentioned by guests, 'The Love,' is within walking distance rather than directly inside the hotel, the hotel does feature its own restaurant, coffee shop/cafe, and bar/lounge on-site, offering convenient dining and beverage options. A communal living room or salon provides a comfortable space for guests to relax, read, or socialize. The property, built in 1911, offers an elevator for accessibility. While some reviews mention dark walls or narrow staircases, reflecting its townhouse origins, guests generally appreciate the unique architecture for its "claustrophobic ambience within its walls" or its "enchanting" vibe. The presence of a lovely courtyard for guests to enjoy on a nicer day is another appealing feature.

Feb 24, 2025 · BestdayeverrrMCFriendly staff, side street charm and the breakfast buffet were all positives as other reviewers have stated. Our only reason not to return is the dark walls, narrow staircase and lack of light. I realize this is a former townhouse and if that architecture is something you are seeking, you may not mind the claustrophobic ambience within its walls.
Apr 09, 2025 · Debby HughesWe had a wonderful stay at the Franklin from check-in to departure. When we arrived, the front desk manager was personable, friendly, and very welcoming. That set the tone for our time there -- everyone we met in the lobby, hip cocktail bar, brunch service, or any other part of our trip was warm and caring. The room was cozy and personable, with a comfortable bed and amazing shower with both rainfall and spray showerheads. The location is fantastic too. The only caution I'd give is that the desk in our room was not very big, so only good for a quick email check and not serious work on a laptop. But this stay was for fun anyway, so that was not a big deal so much as an observation. But for a romantic or fun getaway, the Franklin is perfect. And the cocktail bar hidden off the lobby was a cool bonus too! We appreciate how everyone there made our stay so enjoyable and special, and look forward to coming back soon! Each room is decorated differently with a personality of its own, so it would be fun to check out a different one next time for a twist.
Feb 22, 2025 · Evan CooperThis hotel has beautiful interior design. I loved my room. It was elegant and unique. The hotel was so quiet for being in such a busy part of the city, too. There are so many amazing restaurants nearby, and it's just a few minutes from the subway. The staff at this hotel was amazing. They made sure I had everything I needed for a great stay.
Jan 23, 2025 · Stephanie BilinskyWe stayed in the Dandy. The room was spacious yet cozy. An electric fireplace was a nice feature for ambiance. The bathroom is beautiful. However, there was only 1 robe. We didn't bother to ask for another since we were only staying 1 night. There is a need for a dimmer switch for the ceiling lights. They were a bit bright since it is super dark when sitting at the desk. Maybe a desk lamp would be a nice addition. And because The Franklin is listed as a boutique hotel, the paper cups on the coffee bar should be replaced w 2 china cups and teaspoons with some quality paper napkins. But the real reason I rated it 3 stars is because the continental breakfast was not ready at 8 am. We opted to dine out.
