This is our 2nd trip and 2nd time at the oaklander. A little more disappointed the 2nd time with the overall experience but I still think it’s the best higher end hotel in the area. Bell staff and front desk staff were great! Restaurant staffing needs and cleaning staff have room to improve. I’m a platinum Marriott member who stays in a lot of Marriott properties, mainly Marriott's higher end resorts and hotels and I have to say one of the trends lately that’s been frustrating across the board has been cleanliness and the restaurants staffing at the properties. We traveled with 2 kids and within 5 minutes of checking into our room our soon was holding 2 pills in his hand that he had found on the bathroom floor and our daughter found a sugar packet near the bed from a guests previous stay. I understand mistakes happen but I feel that I’ve noticed a trend lately at my stays at other marriotts as well that I feel it was worth a post when you’re spending 57k points on a one night stay. The hotel restaurant staff was very pleasant but they appeared to be understaffed for the weekend along with the food being just OK for the prices that were being charged. Either way I’d stay at the property again as this was my second stay and the first stay was flawless.

The tenth-floor common areas, including the lobby and restaurant, offer unparalleled views that are a key attraction.

The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing dogs and cats (up to 2 total, 50 lbs per pet), with an additional charge and deposit. Service animals are exempt from fees. This feature makes it a welcoming choice for guests traveling with their furry companions. Additionally, The Oaklander has implemented various sustainable practices, including comprehensive recycling policies and efforts to reduce plastic waste.

Promotional information, while not extensively detailed, often includes packages such as "Stay for Breakfast" which provides breakfast in the hotel restaurant for up to two adults and children, or "Experience The Oaklander" which may offer a food and beverage credit. Specific packages may vary, so it's advisable to check the hotel's official website or inquire directly for current offers. Promotions might also cater to longer stays or include benefits like valet parking. The hotel also has an exclusive private selection of Maker's Mark Bourbon available for purchase, as well as branded merchandise like robes, slippers, and eye masks for guests to keep.

Customer Reviews and Overall Experience:

Customer reviews for The Oaklander Hotel, Autograph Collection, paint a mixed but generally positive picture. Many guests praise the hotel's excellent location, especially its proximity to the University of Pittsburgh and other Oakland attractions. The staff, particularly the bell staff and front desk, consistently receive high marks for being friendly, helpful, and welcoming, often going above and beyond to assist guests. Many guests describe the hotel as beautiful, with stylish and modern rooms, comfortable beds, and high-quality linens.

However, some recurring concerns appear in customer feedback, primarily regarding cleanliness and restaurant staffing/pricing. Instances of cleanliness issues, such as debris found on floors or hair on towels, have been noted by a few guests, causing disappointment. While management often responds to such feedback with apologies and assurances of addressing the issues, it highlights an area where consistency could be improved. The restaurant, while lauded for its pleasant staff and views, has received comments about being understaffed during busy periods and the food quality sometimes being perceived as only "OK" given the price point. The $42 per night valet parking fee is also a frequent point of discussion, with some guests finding it expensive, though many appreciate the convenience it offers in a busy area.

Despite these criticisms, many guests express a strong likelihood of returning, citing the overall positive experience, the hotel's prime location, and the exceptional service provided by the majority of the staff. The Oaklander has garnered a reputation as a "home away from home" for many, particularly families visiting university students or attending graduation ceremonies. The tenth-floor space, with its views and dining options, is often highlighted as a fabulous gathering place.

In summary, The Oaklander Hotel, Autograph Collection, provides a luxurious and convenient base in Pittsburgh's dynamic Oakland neighborhood. It offers a unique blend of modern comfort and historic charm, with a focus on personalized service and upscale amenities. While there are some areas for improvement, notably in consistent housekeeping and restaurant operations during peak times, its prime location, elegant environment, and the dedication of its staff make it a highly regarded option for those searching for a distinguished stay within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Pittsburgh.

I was pretty disappointed with our first stay this weekend at the Oaklander. There was debris and a bug in the bed and when I called to see if the sheets could be changed they said no that housekeeping was gone. There was also blonde hair on our bathroom towels and we are not blonde. I didn’t even call to report it because I knew nothing would be done from when I called for the bed. The room was nice but not to the quality I expected and I was I’m very unimpressed with how they handled the bed and also the restaurant was closed Saturday. Would only stay again if I had to.

We had our wedding at The Oaklander in October and we truly had the best experience from start to finish! We were wowed by Becky when touring, Lauren was incredible throughout the entire planning process as well as the day of the wedding, Caitlin made room block booking so easy, Charles and John helped the day run seamlessly. Truly the entire team at the hotel amazed us with their kindness, attention to detail, and ability to make the day happen. Our guests raved about the entire experience from location to the rooms to the food. We cannot recommend The Oaklander or their staff enough, truly so thankful for everyone!!

My family stayed at The Oakland 11/15 until 11/18 when we left. The hotel was outstanding and the staff was great while we were there. John who took us to our room was outstanding and was great to us every day we saw him. I would have given the hotel a 5-star review. However, our experience has been ruined by how the staff has handled the items that I left behind. I understand that it was my fault that I left the items behind but if house keeping and the inspector of the room had done their jobs my items would have been found before I got home and discovered I had left them behind. I called within 6 hours of leaving the hotel and have gotten the run around since. This was on Monday, I finally received a call on Saturday to be informed they couldn't find my items. We paid a lot of money to stay there and the hotel should protect our belongings if left behind. I was told the procedures they have in place for left behind items. They were not followed, which means my items are lost for good. I can't seem to get any management to call me back. Again, I understand it was my fault that I left items behind, but if this was handled better and in a timely manner. I would have my items. I will stay there again because the hotel itself was awesome and the location was great. I'm just sorry that the upper management doesn't treat their guest as well as the staff does when you are there. We are still your customers even after you get our money.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at The Oaklander Hotel, truly deserving of its 5-star Autograph Collection status. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the stunning decor and the attention to detail in every corner. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The atmosphere of the hotel is so relaxing, making it an ideal spot for a staycation. The cleaning services were impeccable, ensuring everything was spotless throughout our stay. One of the standout features for me was the Le Labo scent they offer in the rooms—my partner’s absolute favorite, which added such a luxurious touch to the experience. Overall, I can’t recommend The Oaklander Hotel enough! If you're looking for a peaceful, high-end retreat, this is the place to be. 10/10, would definitely stay again! Thank you so much Mary Moninger - You are incredible along with your staff. Thank you for everything
