The good: - Historic building with charming references to its golf legacy - seeing pics of famous guests on the wall was a lot of fun. - The indoor putting course was pretty great and right off the lobby. - The arcade and pool were being renovated, but I expect those will be great for the kids when they are ready. The bad: - Historic also means old. The space is fairly run down. We were comfortable and the rooms were a good size with high ceilings. But major renovations are warranted. - We had a bit of a security issue. We came back to our room at the end of the day to find our door held open with the deadbolt. I'm sure this was an absent minded mistake, but it is one that should never happen. When we told the front desk staff they basically shrugged it off. It took my wife expressing dissatisfaction whirh their lack of concern to get them to file a report so that the cleaning staff coos be notified. That was very disappointing and almost unforgivable.

The place is a little rundown, and some things are not ideal with the rooms, but as long as you go in expecting a more rustic and historic experience, you should be happy. The service is friendly and very attentive, to provide the best experience for their guests.

Mar 31, 2025 · BarbaraWe had our wedding at Shawnee. The scenery was absolutely perfect and made for amazing photos. If I could rate service higher I would. The coordinator was truly amazing and put us at ease for everything. The staff throughout our wedding day were truly spectacular. I broke a key part to our wedding and they were able to fix it. The service staff during dinner was phenomenal and had everything boxed up and ready for us.
