As a Marriott Ambassador with nearly 2,000 nights stayed, this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had. No welcome letter. No upgrade offered. I walked into my room to find a bug sitting on the bed — not exactly the St. Regis standard. Only after reporting it was I moved to a larger room that was apparently available all along. Staff made little effort to acknowledge or recover the situation. I was also misinformed about breakfast — led to believe it was complimentary, only to be charged at checkout. For a brand that’s supposed to define luxury, this felt careless and unworthy of the Marriott name. I hope management reaches out — this property has serious work to do.

We spent five nights in a beautifully renovated suite on the 8th floor, where the decor elegantly complemented the hotel’s historic charm. The spacious bathroom with its shower-bathtub combo provided a perfect retreat, and the Japanese-style bidet was a thoughtful touch that brought back memories of our years in Japan. Every detail was immaculate, thanks to the housekeeping team and their daily service. The hospitality was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to make our celebration feel truly special. Walking into our room to find roses, a delicious dessert, rose petals in the bathroom, celebratory balloons on the bed was an unforgettable moment. Special recognition to the doorman, whose warmth and professionalism made every interaction enjoyable. Dining at Alhambra each morning was both convenient and delightful, setting the tone for our days exploring D.C. we also tried a few cocktails at the bar and witnessed the champagne sabering ritual—a unique experience worth taking time for. Jun 13, 2025 · Natalie HMy husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. The staff from check-in, through turn-down service, through valet we're all exceptional. We enjoyed afternoon tea in the beautiful lobby. And also had a wonderful dinner at the on-site restaurant one evening of our stay. Thank you to the reviewer who recommended the spicy lamb. It was incredible!
Jan 22, 2025 · Marguerite MurphyThe service, common areas, bar and dining options are all top notch. The rooms are quite small relative to other hotels in the area though. I like the overall feel and quality of most aspects of the hotel, I just feel the rooms are very tight.
May 23, 2025 · Christopher DupuisOur stay at the St. Regis Washington DC was truly a delight! We arrived early, before the rest of our party, but we were able to get our luggage held until everyone was ready to check in. Our room was a nice size and had little amenities that we appreciated, like slippers! I enjoyed some of the toiletries, particularly a rose face wash. The champagne sabering at 6 PM is a highlight. I don’t drink alcohol and the hotel kindly provided an alternative. My husband loves swords, and staff were happy to answer some questions about the sabering process. Every interaction with everyone working at the hotel was positive and nice. It was honestly a great atmosphere! It’s also a marvelous location if you plan on doing sightseeing and want to walk around on foot. It’s close to so much!
