We had the most wonderful stay! Our room was beautiful and spotless, everything was clean and all linens were fresh. The spa tub was perfect for relaxing! This place was an incredible value for the price. We did have an incident where unruly guests were disturbing the peace (the walls are quite thin but they were really yelling), but we were very impressed that the manager handled the situation quickly and professionally. In the morning there were breakfast supplies in the kitchen which we enjoyed before heading out. We feel like we’ve found a hidden gem and will definitely return!
Welcome to an introduction to The Trail in Adams, a lodging option situated at 10 Pleasant St, Adams, MA 01220, USA. For those utilizing the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, this establishment presents itself as a potential choice for local accommodation needs. The information provided here is based on publicly available details and customer reviews, aiming to offer an objective overview for prospective guests.
Environment:
The Trail in Adams is located in Adams, Massachusetts, a town that offers a local experience. The external environment of the hotel, as indicated by a customer review, includes an outdoor area where icy conditions on steps and walkways have been reported, with the use of dirt instead of salt for treatment. This suggests a potentially rustic or less manicured approach to outdoor maintenance. The hotel's immediate surroundings appear to include neighboring establishments, such as AJ's, a bar, which could contribute to the local atmosphere and potentially noise levels. The parking situation for guests might involve some unconventional access, with a customer mentioning the need to "jump over a wooden fence" or navigate a "horrible path" to reach parking, rather than a more direct route. This could imply a less conventional or less accessible parking arrangement. Inside the hotel, one guest described their room as "beautiful and spotless," with "clean and all linens fresh," indicating a positive initial impression of the interior cleanliness and aesthetic in some instances. However, other accounts contradict this, describing issues such as blood in the tub, caked calcium in spa tub jets, mold on shower curtains, and dirty bedding with black spots and blood stains. These contrasting reviews suggest an inconsistent level of cleanliness and maintenance across different rooms or stays. The walls are noted to be "quite thin," which can impact the quiet enjoyment of guests due to noise from neighboring rooms. The overall internal environment appears to be subject to varying experiences, ranging from well-maintained and comfortable to significantly problematic in terms of hygiene and facility upkeep.
Services:
The services offered at The Trail in Adams, as gleaned from customer experiences, include accommodation with specific room amenities. One notable feature mentioned is the presence of a "spa tub" in rooms, which some guests find "perfect for relaxing." However, the functionality and cleanliness of these tubs have been called into question by another guest, citing issues with calcium buildup in jets. Breakfast provisions are also available, with one guest mentioning "breakfast supplies in the kitchen" for enjoyment. In terms of staffing, a significant point of feedback is the apparent lack of on-site staff upon arrival, with one guest stating they "literally didn't meet anyone til that night." This suggests a self-check-in or remote management system during certain hours. When staff is present, their responsiveness to guest issues varies. One review highlights a manager who "handled the situation quickly and professionally" when unruly guests were disturbing the peace. Conversely, another account details a highly negative interaction with a staff member named Kate, who allegedly denied cleanliness issues, entered a room before quiet hours, and engaged in confrontational behavior, including allowing other guests to approach and record the reviewer. This stark contrast in experiences suggests an inconsistency in staff presence, responsiveness, and professional conduct. The hotel's refund policy also appears to be subject to change, with one guest reporting a reversal of a promised refund. Furthermore, the hotel has been reported to contact guests post-review, requesting removal of negative feedback and claiming it to be untrue, indicating a potentially aggressive approach to online reputation management.
Features:
The Trail in Adams promotes itself with certain features designed to enhance the guest experience. A key feature is the inclusion of "spa tubs" in rooms, aimed at providing a relaxing and luxurious element to the stay. While some guests have enjoyed this feature, concerns about maintenance, such as calcium buildup in the jets, have been raised. The rooms are described as "beautiful" by some, suggesting an aesthetic appeal. However, functional issues within rooms have been reported, including bathroom doors not staying closed due due to improper installation, non-functioning exhaust fans, and confusing light switches where some seem to control outlets. The provision of breakfast supplies in a shared kitchen area is another feature, allowing guests to prepare their own morning meals. The hotel also appears to operate with a "quiet time" policy from 11 PM to 6 AM, though its enforcement and communication have been a point of contention in customer reviews. The overall impression of features is that while some are attractive in concept, their execution and maintenance can be inconsistent, leading to varied guest satisfaction. The property's structure, with "thin walls," is also a notable feature that can impact guest comfort due to noise transmission.
Promotional Information:
Based on the customer reviews, The Trail in Adams has been perceived by some as an "incredible value for the price," suggesting that its pricing is competitive for the amenities and experience offered, at least for some guests. This perception of value could be a significant draw for users of the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform who are looking for affordable yet comfortable lodging. The positive experience of finding a "hidden gem" and expressing a desire to "definitely return" from one guest serves as an anecdotal form of promotion, highlighting a high level of satisfaction and loyalty. However, the negative reviews severely counteract any positive promotional messaging. The detailed accounts of uncleanliness, maintenance issues, unhelpful and confrontational staff, and disputed refunds could strongly deter potential guests. The alleged attempt by the hotel to have negative reviews removed further complicates its promotional efforts, as it undermines trust and transparency. For users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," the conflicting accounts necessitate careful consideration. While some may find it a good value, others might encounter significant issues, making it crucial to weigh the various experiences before booking. The contrasting feedback indicates that any promotional information should be considered in light of the diverse customer experiences.

Feb 15, 2025 · Nicole WolterWe live here in adams and have been wanting to check this place out. Man was that a mistake. I honestly don't know why so many people book here. We stayed on valentines day night. We got back to our room "The Ruth" around 1030 after going out for drinks at the neighboring bar., AJs. I started a bath and found blood in the tub. I immediately texted the worker Kate and she was already at the building because people were saying we were yelling Mind you it's not even 11pm yet. She kept denying the blood and said she checked out the room before we arrived and it must of been something else. The bathroom door doesn't stay closed because they don't have the door installed properly. The jets in the spa tub were all caked up with calcium. The shower curtain had mold all over the bottom of it. The exhaust fan doesn't work. Half the light switchs go to outlets I assume? I couldn't really figure that out. The bedding is disgusting with black dots all over it, 1 pillow had spots of blood on it. The pillow cases were definitely dirty to the point where i went home and got ours to feel more comfortable. Back to the noise. Quiet time hours are from 11pm to 6am. Why is Kate coming into our room at 1045 telling us we need to be more quiet. I understand at 11 but it was early. Also what's up with her having other guests come our and approach me in the hallway then proceed to record me when we are having a conversation? As soon as he took out the phone I looked at my wife and said we can just leave. Kate agreed that would be best and we would be refunded. I started packing and went outside with half my stuff where my wife fell on their icy steps and walkway because they don't use any salt. They just use dirt they get for free from a local lot in adams. Then the police showed up and I told them we were already leaving. I wasn't allowed to go in to retrieve the rest of my things. The police luckily helped us get them. Very nice and professional officers. As we concluded with Kate she then said we would not get a refund, which changed from what she told us upstairs, and told us not to come back with we definitely won't be. This place is not even clean, it has no staff when you arrive, we literally didn't meet anyone til that night. Also they lie to you. I do not recommend this place at all. Where you park you literally have to jump over a wooden fence unless you want to go out of your way and walk through a horrible parh. I'll have more pictures to post later but here is what I have. Avoid this place, hotel downstreet is so much cleaner and nice and cheaper. Plus they have a indoor hot tub and pool and never have had an issue there. Our fault for trying something new. Update to the review: After a few days of my review being up, someone from the Trail reached out to me telling me to take my review down and they're reporting it saying everything I've posted is untrue. I have pictures and video from the night as proof. They're wrong for what they did and how they treated us. My review will stay.
Feb 21, 2025 · Jared BrownI was performing across the street at the Adams Theater and had a chance to stay at this lovely place. Artsy rooms are comfortable and quiet but the best part is the hot made-to-order breakfast that comes with the stay. Super close to a lot of good food and the theater for evening events. The place is doing great under recent management and renovations.
Oct 13, 2024 · Christopher KuoThe Inn is located n transition to a new owner, so there was construction going on, which is fine, I was informed ahead of time. I enjoyed the size of the room (I was in Iroquois) and the large bed. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, modern, and I super enjoyed the steam shower! I felt the bed was too hard, and would have appreciated an extra blanket in the room without having to contact the owner or caretaker (who are both lovely). I would hope the new owner is changing the policy presented on the door, I’ve never seen something like this. But essentially it says they can come into your room and take your products and then charge you for “damage”. This is not disclosed ahead of time and seems outrageous. But nevertheless I had a quiet experience and enjoyed my time. There was use of the kitchen which had some delicious yogurt, coffee/tea/hot chocolate and cereals. I would wait until construction is done before returning.
Mar 25, 2023 · Jennifer JonesSuitably located in Pleasant Street we found our night at The Trail very rewarding. People were very friendly and extremely helpful when my son forgot his watch in the room. The place is very clean and beautifully renovated. Excellent for hiking Mt. Greylock or the Appalachian Trail.
