Our experience was good. It's an old building and the rooms are small, but it seems pretty well taken care of. It's location is great. The neighborhood is nice and they're quite close to the green line so getting into the city is very easy. The hotel will also pay for your parking in one of the city's parking garages (only a few blocks away, by the green line). There wasn't anything mind blowing about the experience, but it was nice and I would go back.

Jul 17, 2017 · Brandon PollardAbsolutely loved our stay at the Write inn. Upon check in they greeted us and explained parking, etc. The room was very spacious. Hotel had a nice feel to it and fits the neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Chicago again. Didn't get chance to explore the hemmingway house and others in the immediate area but the local shops and eateries are Excellent
Oct 14, 2019 · anthony romanoThe staff is friendly but the hotel is out of date. I understand that they are trying to preserve it but the elevator is janky and the stairs are creepy. over all I had trouble falling asleep, the art work in the room as very creepy. It was cute at first and then as I made myself to my room it became creepier. Don't come here if you have anxiety or claustrophobia (halls are very small). The floor of the shower was also sticky, the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is for the nice front desk people.
Apr 09, 2019 · Ale LopezClose to downtown Oak Park , this older Hotel provides a comfortable option for a restful night. There is an on-site restaurant which makes dining convenient but it is a little pricey. There are various different room selections and the prices are based on the size of the rooms and the extras like a mini kitchen. If you want a spacious hotel room and bathroom this is not for you. They do provide free parking in the North Street lot a few blocks away as a courtesy
Jun 24, 2019 · Annamae MckernsThis is a charming boutique hotel that's a little tired in places but gets it right where it counts: a clean, quiet room, a comfortable bed, and clean, working bathroom facilities. In addition, the staff were helpful, the room was lovely and bright, and there were no unpleasant surprises. The cost was reasonable given the style of accommodations and the location. The location is within two blocks of the CTA train line to downtown Chicago. A large selection of restaurants is within a block's walk. A number of architectural treasures nearby make for a lovely walking tour. One awkward aspect of this hotel is the parking arrangement for private vehicles. This requires some vigilance and a daily routine of registering your vehicle and validating a ticket provided by the parking garage nearby. I would urge the hotel to find some way to make vehicle parking less onerous. All in all, I would strongly recommend this hotel to others staying in the Chicago area.
