The facilities are amazing! The staff is very friendly! If you’re looking for a package park, sleep, fly - they handled it effortlessly. I will definitely book again next time I’m in the area and in need, regardless if I’ve got a flight out in the morning.
For those exploring the "Hotels Near Of Me" options in the greater Pittsburgh area, particularly with a focus on extended stays or convenient airport access, the TownePlace Suites Pittsburgh Airport/Robinson Township presents itself as a notable choice. Located at 1006 Sutherland Dr, Crafton, PA 15205, USA, this Marriott property is designed to provide a home-away-from-home experience, combining functional amenities with a strategic location.
The hotel's environment is generally considered to be in a good location, offering a balance between accessibility to key areas and a somewhat quieter setting. While the address is listed as Crafton, it is effectively situated in the Robinson Township area, placing it within very close proximity to the expansive shopping, dining, and entertainment offerings of The Mall at Robinson and Robinson Town Centre. This makes it highly convenient for guests who wish to explore local retail and culinary scenes. The hotel is also relatively close to Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), typically within a 10-15 minute drive, which is a significant advantage for air travelers. However, it's worth noting that its placement, while convenient for amenities, might require a car for most outings beyond the immediate vicinity. While not directly adjacent to major highways, its location allows for fairly easy access to routes leading to downtown Pittsburgh, which is approximately 15-20 minutes away, offering access to attractions like PNC Park, Acrisure Stadium, and various cultural institutions.
The services at TownePlace Suites Pittsburgh Airport/Robinson Township are geared towards making longer stays comfortable and self-sufficient. A key offering, and a popular one among guests, is the complimentary hot breakfast buffet, which is typically available daily from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM on weekends. This provides a convenient and cost-effective way to start the day. For airport travelers, the hotel may have historically offered a "park, sleep, fly" package, which, according to one positive review, was handled "effortlessly" by the staff. However, recent information from review platforms and the Marriott website indicates that the airport shuttle service is currently not provided by the hotel. This is a critical piece of information that prospective guests should be aware of, as it can significantly impact convenience and overall cost for airport transfers. Additionally, self-parking is available on-site for a surcharge of USD 9 per night, which includes in/out privileges.
Beyond these, guests can expect free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property, ensuring connectivity for work or leisure. For business needs, the hotel offers a business center and a small meeting room (926 square feet in one meeting room). The front desk operates 24/7, providing round-the-clock assistance. For guest convenience, there are on-site laundry facilities, which are particularly beneficial for extended stays. The hotel is also pet-friendly, welcoming dogs for an additional fee of USD 75.00 per accommodation, per stay (service animals are exempt), making it a viable option for travelers with furry companions.
The features of TownePlace Suites are designed with extended stays in mind, emphasizing comfort and functionality. The hotel offers apartment-style suites, which are significantly more spacious than standard hotel rooms. A defining feature of these suites is the inclusion of a full kitchen, equipped with a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stovetop, coffee maker, and kitchenware. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which can be a significant cost-saving and convenience, especially for longer visits. Each suite also includes a separate living area with a sofa bed, a work desk with an ergonomic chair, and a 43-inch Smart TV with premium channels and streaming access like Netflix. Free cribs/infant beds are also available.
Recreational features include a heated indoor pool and a hot tub. While these amenities are generally appreciated, some past reviews have highlighted issues with their functionality, such as the hot tub being broken or the pool water being warmer than the hot tub in specific instances. It's best to verify current operational status directly with the hotel if these amenities are crucial to your stay. A 24-hour fitness center is also available, equipped with various cardio machines and weights to help guests maintain their fitness routines. Outdoor amenities may include a fire pit and barbecue grills, offering opportunities for relaxation and social gatherings. The hotel is 100% smoke-free.
Customer reviews provide a mixed, yet informative, picture of the TownePlace Suites Pittsburgh Airport/Robinson Township. Positive feedback frequently commends the "amazing facilities" and the "very friendly staff," highlighting excellent customer service as a major strength. The convenience of the full kitchens in the suites and the complimentary breakfast are consistently appreciated. Guests often value the spaciousness of the rooms, the comfort of the beds, and the hotel's location near shopping and dining.
However, critical feedback points to significant inconsistencies in service and facility maintenance. A highly concerning review from a Marriott Titanium member detailed a "marred" experience due to poor management, including a denied room upon late arrival and a subsequent room already occupied by another guest. This suggests serious issues with room allocation and guest management in specific instances. Other negative reviews have mentioned issues with lack of hot water, dirty pool water, a broken hot tub, and general cleanliness and maintenance concerns (e.g., peeling wallpaper, scuff marks, fixtures falling from walls). There are also recent complaints about the discontinuation of the airport shuttle without clear prior notification, which is a departure from previous offerings. These discrepancies in guest experiences emphasize the importance of checking current conditions and policies directly with the hotel.
Regarding promotional information, TownePlace Suites Pittsburgh Airport/Robinson Township, as a Marriott brand, frequently participates in Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programs, allowing guests to earn and redeem points, and potentially access member-exclusive rates. The availability of long-stay rates and packages tailored for business travelers or families seeking extended accommodations are key promotional aspects. The inclusion of full kitchens in every suite and the complimentary breakfast are intrinsic value propositions that the hotel promotes. Potential offers may include discounts for booking premium rooms or suites for multiple nights. However, given the noted inconsistencies in service and amenity availability from some reviews, guests are strongly advised to confirm all details, including current airport transportation options, parking fees, and the operational status of amenities like the hot tub and pool, directly with the hotel when considering a booking to ensure their expectations align with the hotel's current offerings.
In conclusion, the TownePlace Suites Pittsburgh Airport/Robinson Township is positioned as a convenient and amenity-rich option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, particularly appealing to those desiring apartment-style living during their travels. Its strength lies in its spacious suites with full kitchens, complimentary breakfast, and a generally friendly staff, along with its excellent location near the airport and extensive shopping/dining options. However, recent guest feedback points to critical operational inconsistencies, including significant issues with guest room availability, facility maintenance, and changes to services like airport shuttle and parking fees. Therefore, while the hotel offers many desirable features for an extended stay, prospective guests should exercise caution and directly confirm all crucial details to ensure their expectations align with the hotel's current offerings.

May 15, 2025 · Julie RobersonThis hotel has a good location, but our experience was marred by poor management. When we arrived late one evening, the front desk informed us that there were no rooms available. We were forced to find another hotel. On the second day, we were finally given a room, but unfortunately, someone else was already occupying it. As a Marriott titanium member, I expected better service and cleanliness from this hotel. I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to avoid it.
May 04, 2025 · danny zhengI stayed at this hotel for work for about 3 weeks. The reservations were booked in advance, just for the ease of not having to worry about it. I know hotels usually ask for you to put a card on file for “incidentals”. Until I check my banking account and realize I was charged for $470.56 on a day that I was not even in the hotel. So I go talk to the front desk supervisor, Kathleen, and before I could even get my full explanation of my issue out she cuts me off and says “well I don’t see it in the system, so there’s no way to reverse it”. I wouldn’t lie about missing $470 and blame it on the hotel without sufficient proof. After talking with their Area General Manager, it appears somehow somebody got a hold the funds from my card through the hotel. I ended up having to deactivate my debit card, and get a new one with 0 help or accountability from the hotel. I get being direct, but Kathleen was very abrasive, rude, and did not help me in any way.
Mar 29, 2025 · Khalil WickhamGood location near Robinson Mall is the nicest thing about this hotel. Room had no hot water in shower. Maintenance never showed up. Hotel manager not available. Rather than waiting for 1pm arrival of maintenance man on day #2, I checked out and stayed at Hilton Garden Inn next to the airport. Great choice! This Marriott property is below standard.
Mar 20, 2025 · Ken HawkThe location is ok but they charge for parking which is unusual for suburban locations. The service was polite but unable to answer questions and then disappeared and we could not reach anyone that night to report the dirty room. Truly disappointed at the lack of cleaning done! We thought we would get to relax after a long day but we had to clean our room and lysol it down before feeling safe to use anything. The appliances were ALL dirty, fridge sticky, coffee maker gross, the microwave was all dirty inside. The beds did not smell clean. Mystery stains on the chair and 2nd bed. The floor had dirty socks on it from some previous guest!! :( The bathroom was also not clean. We tried to call downstairs but no answer, twice. Truly just grossed out and disappointed.
