My mother and I were in a tight spot and needed a room for a few nights. We got here and checked in and we didn't get a receipt and were told we could have no company. We get in the room and it looked pretty clean but the bed was shoddy at best they were like the really old beds with the springs in them uncomfortable! There were no blankets and not enough towels for me and my mom. No shampoos or conditioners. My brother came to see us cuz we don't get to town often and when the office can they wanted to charge me more for him just visiting. I paid 77 a night the first 2 nights plus a 50 deposit, and we needed another night so I went to pay the room thinking since it was Monday it would be a little cheaper and they wanted me to pay 15 dollars more...smh all I had on the card I had with me was 70.. they were rude and made us move to a different room that the ac didn't work in and the toilet was stopped up the floor was disgusting and there were no chairs it had bugs and i had to wait for someone to bring me the last 15 i needed for the room i had lost my other card so i couldn't get to the money on it and my friend showed up at 2 pm I had to sit in the front office for an hour because my friend couldn't get there by the time we thought they were gonna be there. The manager and a lady were rude and called my mother a lier cuz she called the front desk to ask how much extra it would be for another person to stay in our room and they told her not to worry about it she had the speaker on so I herd the whole conversation and they were so ugly and disrespectful they had my mom crying and made her stand outside till I could gather our things to move to the other room.. the towels weren't clean the room smelled and the beds made some weird noise and squeaked so bad it was almost impossible to sleep.. the water in the shower was going from cold to hot to cold i didn't even get a key for the second room...it cost me a total of 239 to rent a room here for 3 days...smh and a 50 deposit on top of that...smh this place is definitely not worth that at all at all!!! There wasn't even an ice bucket to be able to get ice out of the ice machine there. I would not recommend this place to anyone... Worst place I've ever stayed!!! Ever!

TownHouse Inn Introduce

For many Texans, San Antonio is a frequent destination, whether for visiting family, navigating temporary transitions, or attending events. When choosing a place to stay, affordability and a practical location are often key considerations. In this article, we're taking a detailed look at the TownHouse Inn in San Antonio. Located on a major interstate loop, this establishment aims to provide a no-frills, economical option for travelers. We'll delve into its location advantages, the services it typically offers, and, crucially, what actual guests have experienced during their stays. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive and factual overview, enabling you, a local Texan user, to determine if the TownHouse Inn aligns with your specific travel needs and expectations for your next visit to the Alamo City.

It's important to approach budget accommodations with a clear understanding of what they offer. The TownHouse Inn, like many motels in its category, prioritizes providing basic shelter at a competitive price point. While some properties might boast luxurious amenities, establishments like the TownHouse Inn focus on the essentials: a place to sleep, a bathroom, and a roof over your head. Understanding the range of experiences reported by guests is vital to setting realistic expectations. This overview will highlight the practical aspects of the TownHouse Inn, drawing from available public information and customer feedback, to help you make an informed decision for your stay in San Antonio.

Location and Accessibility

The TownHouse Inn is strategically located at 942 NE Interstate 410 Loop, San Antonio, TX 78209, USA. This address places it directly on a frontage road of Northeast Interstate 410 (Loop 410), a major beltway that circles the city of San Antonio. This location offers significant advantages for accessibility, particularly for Texans traveling by car. Guests can easily get on and off the interstate, providing straightforward routes to various parts of the city.

Being on Loop 410 positions the inn conveniently close to the San Antonio International Airport, often just a short drive away. This is a major benefit for travelers flying in or out of the city. Furthermore, Loop 410 provides excellent connectivity to other key areas of San Antonio. Downtown attractions, including the River Walk and the Alamo, are typically accessible within a 15-25 minute drive, depending on traffic conditions. Areas like the Medical Center, popular shopping destinations, and other business hubs are also within reasonable reach via the loop. The immediate vicinity along the frontage road often includes various dining options, gas stations, and convenience stores, catering to immediate needs. For individuals who rely on public transportation, proximity to bus routes connecting to the greater San Antonio VIA Metropolitan Transit system would be a relevant consideration, though navigating without a car might require more planning in this area of the city. The primary strength of its location is the ease of access to a major thoroughfare, simplifying travel across San Antonio.

Services Offered

The TownHouse Inn generally offers a range of fundamental services expected from a budget-friendly motel, focusing on providing essential amenities for a practical stay. Based on common motel offerings and available information, these typically include:

  • 24-Hour Reception Services: A 24-hour front desk is usually available to assist guests with check-ins, check-outs, and general inquiries, providing assistance around the clock.

  • Free Parking: The inn typically offers free on-site parking for guests, a significant convenience for those traveling by car in San Antonio.

  • Free Wi-Fi: Complimentary wireless internet access is generally provided in rooms and public areas, allowing guests to stay connected.

  • Air Conditioning: Given the Texas climate, air conditioning is a standard feature in all rooms to ensure guest comfort, though its performance can vary based on individual unit condition.

  • Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping services are typically provided to maintain basic cleanliness, although the extent and thoroughness can be subject to individual room conditions and staffing.

  • Basic Room Amenities: Rooms are usually equipped with a bed, a private bathroom, and often a flat-screen TV. While some older reviews suggest issues with comfort or missing items like blankets and toiletries, these are generally standard provisions.

Features / Highlights

When considering the TownHouse Inn, its features and highlights are generally centered on its role as a practical, no-frills accommodation. Based on reviews, some potential highlights and areas of concern include:

  • Strategic Location on Loop 410: Its address directly on NE Interstate 410 Loop is a primary feature, offering excellent accessibility to various parts of San Antonio, including the airport and major thoroughfares. This is ideal for road travelers and those needing quick access to the city's perimeter.

  • Affordable Pricing (Variable): While some reviews indicate a perception of high prices for the value received, other contexts suggest it aims to be a budget-friendly option. Its competitive pricing against other hotels, particularly during high demand, can be a draw for cost-conscious travelers. However, prices appear to fluctuate, so confirming the exact rate for your stay is crucial.

  • Basic Functionality: The inn provides essential amenities like a bed, private bathroom, and air conditioning (even if the latter's performance can be inconsistent), fulfilling the basic need for shelter.

  • Potential for Quiet Environment: While not explicitly stated in the provided reviews, locations off major interstates can sometimes offer a quieter experience than properties in more bustling downtown areas, depending on specific room placement and soundproofing.

  • Pet-Friendly Policy (Unconfirmed/Mixed): One review explicitly states it is "not pet friendly," contradicting general public data that sometimes lists "motels" as more flexible. This makes direct verification of their pet policy absolutely essential if traveling with animals, as policies can change or be misunderstood.

It is important for potential guests to note the significant discrepancies in customer experiences regarding cleanliness, bed comfort, amenities provided (e.g., towels, shampoo, ice bucket), and staff demeanor. While some positive general reviews may exist for similar properties, the provided specific reviews indicate notable challenges in consistency.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a content writer, I do not have access to real-time, active promotions or specific special offers that the TownHouse Inn might be running. Independent motels like the TownHouse Inn typically do not participate in large-scale loyalty programs or widely advertised promotions like major hotel chains. Their pricing strategy is often based on competitive daily rates.

However, guests looking for the best possible rate or any potential deals should always:

  • Call Directly: The most reliable way to inquire about any current discounts, special rates for extended stays, or off-season pricing is to contact the TownHouse Inn directly using the provided phone numbers. Given some of the past guest experiences, a direct conversation to confirm all charges and inclusions could be particularly beneficial.

  • Check Online Travel Agencies (OTAs): While direct booking is often recommended, sometimes OTAs might have specific short-term deals, so comparing prices across platforms could be worthwhile. However, be mindful of any non-refundable policies or discrepancies in information, especially concerning deposits, as highlighted in one review.

It is crucial to clarify all costs, including room rates, deposits, and any potential extra charges (e.g., for visitors, as mentioned in a review) before booking, as pricing can be a point of contention for past guests.

Contact Information

For reservations, inquiries about availability, or to confirm any specific details about your stay at the TownHouse Inn, it is highly recommended to reach out directly using the following contact information:

  • Address: 942 NE Interstate 410 Loop, San Antonio, TX 78209, USA

  • Phone: (210) 538-5338

  • Mobile Phone (alternative): +1 210-538-5338

Given the detailed customer feedback provided, a direct conversation prior to booking can help clarify expectations regarding room amenities (towels, blankets, toiletries), bed comfort, air conditioning functionality, and any specific policies regarding visitors or deposits. Documenting conversations, especially about pricing, could also be beneficial.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For Texans considering a stay in San Antonio, the TownHouse Inn presents a very specific kind of lodging option. While the provided customer reviews highlight significant inconsistencies and negative experiences regarding room quality, cleanliness, staff demeanor, and pricing clarity, it's essential to understand its intended role. As locals, we often seek accommodations that offer extreme value or convenience for specific, short-term needs, and properties like the TownHouse Inn can sometimes fill that niche.

Its most notable suitability for Texans lies in its highly accessible location directly on NE Interstate 410 Loop. For those driving into San Antonio, needing immediate lodging near the airport, or requiring a quick, no-frills stopover before continuing their journey across the state, this direct highway access is undeniably convenient. If your travel priorities are strictly limited to finding a very basic and potentially last-minute place to sleep near a major interstate, and you are prepared for a highly variable experience in terms of room comfort and service, then the TownHouse Inn might be considered. However, based on the specific and detailed negative customer feedback regarding uncomfortable beds, cleanliness issues, inconsistent amenities (lack of blankets, towels, toiletries), malfunctioning AC, bug problems, and particularly the reported rude staff interactions and confusing pricing, potential guests should proceed with extreme caution and manage their expectations very carefully. It appears to be a choice primarily for those in a "tight spot" who prioritize an extremely low cost and location above all else, and are willing to risk significant compromises on comfort and service. For most Texans seeking a reliable and pleasant stay, even on a budget, it would be prudent to thoroughly investigate other options first and consider these reviews as a critical warning.

Place is a scam. Its renovated motel 6. That consisted of painting the building grey Paid in full on Priceline. Got there. They told me I needed to give them a 50$ deposit plus pay for the room in full Sunday when I leave. Had the nerve to tell me. That payment in full on Priceline was a hold for the room. They can’t use the card I paid for to charge on Sunday. Told me she couldn’t cancel the stay. But canceled it 10 minutes later while I was in the phone with Priceline. He was even confused that they wanted me to pay again.

Absolutely terrible!! Do not stay here. Nasty, run down, dirty, pool drained and woman who was the “manager in charge” was unprofessional and rude. There is a thin mattress on top of a metal frame, no box spring. The bathroom was disgusting , hair on the counter everything looked old dirty. No blanket on the bed. The sign in the office says you have 10 minutes from check in to decline the room for a refund if you are unsatisfied with the room due to “construction and lack of amenities. ” this was a bit of a red flag as it seems it must happen often. I noted that and went directly to the room to inspect it. After noting the above we went straight to the office and told them we were not comfortable staying there and would like a refund. The first young girl was very friendly but when she brought the woman in charge she informed us that they had a 10 minute limit that we had passed from check in. I let them know that was not the case that we had seen the sign and went directly to check the room and came back. Confused I asked if she was counting the time since we started checking in which took awhile, she wouldn’t give me an answer and just said it had been 17 minutes and all they would refund was the deposit. The room we had been assigned was 4 doors from the office and we had been not more than 5 minutes in the room touching nothing.Frustrated but trying to be polite we insisted there was a mistake as that was untrue and we had been gone no more than a few minutes definitely less than 10. The woman refused to tell me what time /point they started counting the 10 minutes and we would not get a refund. I did let her know we would be leaving a review of our experience and she cockily commented that “ great we love those kind of reviews.” The location also was unsafe.

TERRIBLE!!!! The pictures of this location is complete false advertisement. The room had a serious cigarette stench and prison type mattress with no bed springs. The bathroom was disgusting and smelled horrible. I walked outside to grab my bags and witnessed a heavily tatted male beating up a female over money. He stared me down and said, "what you looking at fool" and reached in his pocket as if he had a weapon. The man also was stealing the linen and the mattress covered in stains. I was Terrified and checked out 15 minutes into my stay. I would Never recommend this place. They didn't allow me to get a refund at all. A complete Scam!!!
