I was banned from the motel because I'm a handicap man and had too many belongings to carry with me in A wheelchair when I was checking out. So I left some pretty good things behind. I'm sure the housekeeping or maintenance guy helped themselves which is ok with me I was leaving it behind anyway. Then I went back a month later and they wouldn't rent a room to me. They said try in another month so I did and they still won't rent. I didn't do damage. I just left property behind cuz I couldn't carry it. Ok then don't rent. I'm at a better place anyway for a little more money. That motel is a 5 on a scale of one to ten

Travel Inn Motel Introduce

For individuals in Hartford, Connecticut, or those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with budget-conscious options, the Travel Inn Motel at 100 Weston St, Hartford, CT 06120, USA, may appear as a choice. The motel can be contacted at (860) 724-0222 or +1 860-724-0222. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the motel, considering its typical offerings for its category and directly incorporating detailed customer feedback to give a comprehensive picture for potential guests.

The "Hotels Near Of Me" category often implies a search for convenience, affordability, and accessibility, particularly for local users or travelers in transit. Located on Weston Street, the Travel Inn Motel is situated in an area of Hartford that may offer practical access to various points of interest, including local businesses, industrial areas, or major roadways, which can be advantageous for travelers requiring a straightforward and no-frills lodging solution.

Environment: Basic Accommodation with Specific Considerations

As a motel, the Travel Inn Motel's environment is generally geared towards providing essential lodging. Properties in this segment typically offer ground-level access rooms or a limited number of floors, often with direct exterior room entry. The overall aesthetic is usually functional rather than luxurious, with a focus on practicality for transient guests. Parking, often directly adjacent to rooms or in a central lot, would be a key feature of its environment, accommodating guests traveling by car.

However, the provided customer reviews offer critical insights into the motel's environment. One review explicitly mentions an experience where a "handicap man" faced issues with carrying belongings and was subsequently "banned from the motel." This raises significant concerns regarding the motel's accessibility accommodations and its policy concerning guest belongings and re-renting to previous guests. This feedback indicates a potential challenge for guests with mobility impairments or those who may require assistance with luggage, impacting the welcoming nature of the environment for certain individuals.

Another review points to issues within the rooms themselves, specifically mentioning that the "door do not seem nor appears to be secure." Security is a fundamental aspect of any lodging environment, and this comment suggests a potential concern for guest safety and peace of mind. Furthermore, a user reported issues with phone charging, stating, "my phone is not charging....it was for a little then I checked on it and I see it's not charging so I put it in another socket and it still is not charging." This suggests a potential problem with electrical outlets or wiring within the rooms, which can significantly impact guest convenience and basic functionality.

Services: Core Offerings with Customer Service Challenges

Motels typically offer a streamlined set of services focused on providing a place to sleep. This would include a front desk for check-in and check-out, and basic inquiries. Housekeeping would maintain room cleanliness. However, the customer reviews shed light on significant issues concerning the quality of service provided by the front desk staff, which is a crucial aspect of the guest experience for any hotel in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category.

One review details a highly negative interaction: "I asked sam, the front desk guy, how many rooms are downstairs and upstairs. I was told 25 downstairs and 45 upstairs....so why did he place me in room 111 downstairs then??? Dang Lier.... I asked the front desk guy and he hung up the phone on me....Most of these hotels in Connecticut have dishonest front desk workers.....if you can't even tell the truth about one simple easy question then if you lie about small things you most definitely lie about things that are much bigger and much more important..Stop lying to your guest who pay to stay at your motels and hotels......we who pay you to stay at your motels and hotels do not like being lied too and I am sure you do not like being Lied to yourself..so treat others the way you want to be treated..okay?.....so stop lying.... plus God hates a lying tongue..... okay? And then I asked for another room which he said this was the only room available which I believe to be another Lie....I will never ever book to stay at this motel ever in Life." This lengthy and emotionally charged feedback highlights serious concerns about truthfulness, professionalism, and responsiveness of the front desk staff, including allegations of being hung up on and being denied a room change based on what the customer perceived as a lie about room availability. This suggests a significant challenge in customer service and staff interaction, which is a critical consideration for potential guests.

The incident of the "handicap man" being banned and denied re-rental further compounds concerns about the motel's service policies and their impact on guest relations, particularly for individuals with specific needs or circumstances. Such experiences can lead to a perception of inflexibility or unhelpfulness, which is a deterrent for repeat business and positive word-of-mouth for any "Hotels Near Of Me" establishment.

Features: Basic Amenities and Potential Deficiencies

The Travel Inn Motel, as a budget-friendly option, would typically feature basic amenities in its rooms designed for short-term stays. These would include a bed, a private bathroom, and potentially a television. As indicated by the review, electrical outlets for charging devices are present, though their functionality appears to be inconsistent ("my phone is not charging...."). This is a significant functional deficiency in today's digital age, where reliable charging is essential for most travelers.

The "door do not seem nor appears to be secure" comment points to a potential issue with the security features of the rooms, which is a fundamental requirement for guest safety and peace of mind. While the number of rooms (25 downstairs and 45 upstairs, according to the reported front desk information) gives an idea of the motel's capacity, the discrepancies and alleged dishonesty in conveying this information, as per the customer's account, also become a feature of the motel's operational transparency.

The location on Weston Street in Hartford is a practical feature, offering access to the wider Hartford area. However, the primary features of this motel, as gathered from the reviews, appear to be its basic accommodation style and, notably, the challenges associated with its customer service and the functionality/security of its in-room amenities.

Promotional Information: Focus on Affordability and Location

Given the nature of the Travel Inn Motel and the feedback provided, any promotional information would likely focus on its affordability and convenient location for those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in Hartford. Marketing efforts would typically highlight:

  • Budget-friendly rates, appealing to travelers looking for economical lodging.
  • Its accessibility from major roads or proximity to specific points of interest in Hartford for practical travel needs.
  • Basic amenities such as free parking (if available) and perhaps complimentary Wi-Fi, which are common offerings in this segment.

However, it is crucial for potential guests to consider the direct customer feedback when evaluating this motel. Promotional materials, if they exist, would likely aim to present the motel as a straightforward, no-frills option for a quick stopover or a simple overnight stay. They might emphasize its utility for guests who prioritize cost savings above all else. Without specific promotional details, it is difficult to elaborate further on any unique offers. The subjective rating given by one customer, "That motel is a 5 on a scale of one to ten," provides a direct, albeit low, assessment of satisfaction. For local users, weighing the potential cost savings against the reported issues with staff conduct, room security, and electrical functionality will be essential in making an informed decision when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me."

This place is an absolute joke. The shower curtain smelled like straight urine, there was grime dripping down the walls of the bathroom and the front of the sink. There were pubic hairs on the shower walls, the mattress and pillows were entirely yellow. You could feel every spring in the mattress, the floors looked as though they’ve never been swept, holes in the walls with bad patching jobs, all of the furniture was chipped and water damaged and stained. It smells like a brothel in there and he said it was a non smoking room but every surface of this room was covered in cigarette burn marks. The headboard of the bed tells the story of everything that’s ever happened in that bed. Please for the love of god, do not go here. Every single good review about this place is wrong. The sheets and towels seemed clean but that is the absolute only thing about this place that was semi pleasant. And best of all!! NO refunds.

Walls are loaded with unidentifiable fluid drips and drains going down the Walls however the bed was clean the toilet was clean and the inside of the tub was clean. Definitely could use new carpeting. At 1:00 in the morning when your reservation at a different hotel was screwed up you take what you can get just for the night. After driving all the way from Florida to Connecticut

Couldn't stay, the room was absolutely disgusting and reeked of urine. Currently trying to get my money back but no one will answer the phone at the office - I let it ring for over 4 minutes.
