The room smelled weird. The refrigerator and Microwave had cockroaches crawling around I almost vomited as I already used it to heat up a slice of pizza I just ate.I asked for a none smoking room because I don't like smoking in rooms and it smells weird so I paid for a room that was none smoking. I was seen smoking a cigarette outside just before I was about to go into my room and I was told I needed to switch to the smoking room even tho I mentioned I wouldn't be smoking in the room. One of the towels was dirty when I entered the bathroom. This place is filthy and I want my money back I can't believe they charge 269 a week.. that's outrageous. When informing management about the bug problem all he did was spray Raid roach spray in the microwave and behind it and left it like that. No change of rooms or anything. Obviously very greedy people that do not care that much about the people that stay there. Also had a bad time trying to connect to their WiFi on both my phone and laptop the whole week.

Value Inn Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Berlin, Connecticut, with a specific interest in extended stay options, Value Inn, located at 176 Berlin Tpke, Berlin, CT 06037, USA, presents itself as a potential choice. As an extended stay hotel, its primary appeal is to guests requiring accommodation for longer durations, typically offering more amenities akin to a home away from home than a standard overnight motel. This introduction will provide an objective overview of the hotel's environment, services, features, and some promotional considerations, incorporating diverse guest feedback to offer a balanced perspective.

Environment and Location:

Value Inn is situated on Berlin Turnpike, a well-known commercial artery in Berlin, CT. This location means the hotel is set within an area that provides relatively easy access to local shops, restaurants, and other businesses. Being on a major road can be convenient for travelers with vehicles, allowing for straightforward navigation to various points of interest in Berlin and surrounding towns. However, a location on a busy turnpike also implies a more utilitarian environment, characterized by commercial activity rather than scenic views or tranquil surroundings. Guests should anticipate some level of road noise due to the hotel's proximity to a main road. The external appearance of such properties typically aligns with that of a budget-friendly motel, focusing on functionality rather than elaborate aesthetics.

Services and Features:

As an extended stay hotel, Value Inn is expected to offer amenities that cater to longer-term guests. Based on common offerings for this category of lodging and implied by guest reviews, rooms at Value Inn typically include features designed for self-sufficiency. These often comprise in-room refrigerators and microwaves, which are crucial for guests wishing to prepare their own meals and reduce dining costs during extended stays. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is also a standard expectation, allowing guests to stay connected for work or leisure. While not explicitly detailed, other common features for extended stay hotels might include basic cable TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with toiletries. The presence of these in-room facilities distinguishes extended stay options from basic motels, aiming to provide a more functional living space.

Guest Experience and Concerns:

An objective introduction requires a candid look at customer experiences, which for Value Inn, present a mixed, yet significantly concerning, picture. Some guests have reported highly negative experiences, with serious allegations regarding cleanliness and pest control. One review vividly describes a "weird" room smell and the presence of cockroaches in both the refrigerator and microwave, leading to a highly unpleasant experience for the guest. The same reviewer also cited finding a dirty towel upon entering the bathroom, reinforcing concerns about cleanliness standards. Furthermore, a significant issue arose concerning room type and smoking policy, where a guest who paid for a non-smoking room was pressured to switch to a smoking room after being seen smoking outside, despite explicitly stating they would not smoke inside the room. This incident points to potential rigidity or miscommunication in hotel policies and guest interaction.

The management's response to the bug problem, as described by a frustrated guest, was limited to spraying insecticide in the microwave and behind it, without offering a room change. This action suggests a potentially indifferent attitude toward guest comfort and satisfaction, reinforcing the perception of "very greedy people that do not care that much about the people that stay there." Connectivity issues with Wi-Fi on both phone and laptop for an entire week also indicate a potential lack of reliable internet service, which is a critical amenity for extended stays. The pricing, at $269 a week, was also deemed "outrageous" by this reviewer given the perceived conditions.

However, it is crucial to note that there is also contrasting feedback. One review offers a notably positive experience, stating that the "room was clean as was the bathroom," "looked well maintained," and the "bed was comfortable." This guest found the owners to be "pleasant" and highlighted a "very quiet" environment with "no loud noise," indicating a positive and restful stay. This particular guest would "go back if I need a room again" and "recommend it to anyone who asks." This dichotomy in reviews suggests that guest experiences at Value Inn can vary significantly, potentially depending on the specific room assigned, the timing of the stay, or individual expectations and interactions.

Promotional Information and Target Audience:

Value Inn's primary promotional angle, implicitly, would be its positioning as an "extended stay" option, appealing to those seeking more affordable, long-term lodging solutions compared to traditional hotels. The inclusion of in-room kitchenettes (refrigerators, microwaves) aligns with this model, allowing guests to save money on dining out. Given the varied feedback, promotional efforts would likely focus on the positive aspects highlighted by some guests, such as room cleanliness, comfortable beds, pleasant owners, and a quiet atmosphere, if these are consistently maintained. However, for an objective view, it's vital to acknowledge that the severe negative experiences reported by others might significantly impact its appeal to a broader audience. Therefore, its actual target audience might be highly budget-conscious travelers or those in a situation where extended stay options are limited and who might prioritize price over potential concerns regarding cleanliness and service consistency. For guests who value consistent cleanliness, reliable internet, and proactive management responses to issues, the hotel's suitability would need to be carefully considered in light of the negative reviews.

In conclusion, Value Inn in Berlin, CT, serves as an extended stay option on Berlin Turnpike. While it aims to provide basic amenities for longer durations, including in-room kitchen facilities, potential guests should navigate their expectations carefully. While some guests have reported satisfactory experiences with clean rooms and pleasant interactions, others have raised serious concerns about cleanliness, pest infestations, Wi-Fi reliability, and management's approach to resolving issues. Therefore, while it may appear in "Hotels Near Of Me" searches for extended stays, a thorough consideration of both positive and negative feedback is essential before booking.

Room was clean as was the bathroom. Looked well maintained. Bed was comfortable. Owner's were pleasant. Very quiet no loud noise. I'll go back if I need a room again. And I'll recommend it to anyone who asks.

Payed $80.00 twice for one night, 10:30 to 11:45 am check in. Charge $40 quietly so the room was $120.00...I mean 40 increased in 2 months. Didn't say the rooms went up.

Boyfriend and i paid 60 dollars for a small room. There were no lightbulbs in the bathroom, a bunch of trash under the bed, there were burn marks on pillows and blankets from cigarettes. TV controller was smashed upon arrival and had to ask for a new one. The corner room has no windows by the way. The ceiling is covered in cobwebs.

Nicely Located on busy turnpike Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Applebee's and several other establishments and venues nearby to keep you entertained. The motel is super clean and up-kept for a 2-star motel. Nice size tv with cable and wifi which was very fast to my surprise. Microwave and mini fridge also included with the room. The female owner at the front was very nice would certainly rent again, my only complaint was that I am from Boston which is a 2 hour ride and I needed to book a room for a week so I called before-hand to get a price, when I called she said $215 for the week but when I got here the price changed to $260 which definitely turned me off and I am working with a budget so that was a huge price jump. All in all definitely clean, well cared for and maintained, great amenities and at a busy location. So I would recommend.
