Welcome to the Village Motel, a convenient and appealing option for local users searching on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, especially for those seeking a comfortable and budget-friendly stay in Clinton, Connecticut. Located at 143 E Main St, Clinton, CT 06413, USA, the Village Motel presents itself as a practical choice for travelers looking for an updated and welcoming environment by the shore. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on available information, including both positive and negative guest experiences, to offer a balanced perspective on what to expect from your stay.
The environment at Village Motel, particularly in its updated rooms, is described positively by some guests as "beautifully updated" and "impeccably clean." The motel aims to provide a cozy and peaceful atmosphere, making guests feel "right at home" rather than in a typical motel setting. Its location "by the shore" is highlighted as perfect for relaxation, suggesting that the property offers a tranquil escape from daily stresses. For visitors prioritizing a quiet night's sleep, the motel is praised for being "quiet and peaceful at night." This suggests an environment conducive to rest, which is a significant factor for many travelers. However, it is also important to consider a contrasting review that details some environmental shortcomings, even in an 'updated' room. These issues included a lack of a lampshade, no chair, only one working light out of three, and limited window operability, with only one out of three windows opening in summer. While the interior appearance was noted as clean, these missing elements detract from the overall comfort and functionality of the room's environment. Therefore, while some updated rooms offer a beautiful and clean environment, potential guests should be aware that the consistency of amenities might vary.
In terms of services, the Village Motel receives high praise for its hospitality from a segment of its guests. The staff are frequently described as "incredibly friendly and accommodating," "caring, helpful, and kind." This level of personal touch can significantly enhance a guest's experience, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. For those who value genuine human interaction and a sense of being cared for, the service at Village Motel appears to be a strong point. However, another guest's experience points to significant inconsistencies in service, particularly regarding accessibility and responsiveness. The front office door was reportedly "locked and inaccessible at 8 am," which is a considerable concern for guests needing assistance or wanting to check out. Furthermore, a request for a late checkout was met with an unaccommodating response, requiring payment for nearly a full additional night for just a few extra hours. The difficulty in reaching staff by phone, with "at least 3 different phone numbers listed," also suggests a lack of streamlined and reliable communication channels. These service issues indicate that while some guests may experience exceptional hospitality, others might face challenges with basic accessibility and flexibility, particularly outside of typical operating hours.
The features of Village Motel, particularly those in its updated rooms, are intended to provide a comfortable stay. Key positive features include "beautifully updated" rooms that are "impeccably clean" and equipped with "incredibly comfortable" beds, ensuring a restful sleep. The motel's location "by the shore" is a significant feature, offering proximity to coastal attractions and a relaxed setting. The peaceful nighttime environment is also a notable feature for light sleepers. However, the motel's features, particularly in the "updated" rooms, have also been a source of disappointment for some guests. Essential amenities such as towels, hand soap, shower soap, and a full roll of toilet paper were reported as missing. The lack of a lampshade, a chair, and fully functional lighting in the room indicates a deficit in basic furnishings and working utilities. Security features were also raised as a concern, with only a door handle lock and "no bolt on the door," which might be a safety issue for some travelers. The limited window functionality also presents a challenge, especially in summer, affecting ventilation and comfort. Furthermore, the pricing at "90$/night" was deemed "overpriced for the experience and lack of basic amenities" by one guest, suggesting that the perceived value for money can vary greatly depending on the room and the guest's specific experience. These varying accounts highlight a potential inconsistency in the quality and completeness of features across different rooms or stays at the Village Motel.
For promotional information, the Village Motel could leverage its positive reviews to attract local users searching on "Hotels Near Of Me" who prioritize a "relaxing getaway with wonderful hospitality." Emphasizing the "beautifully updated and impeccably clean" rooms and the "incredibly comfortable beds" would appeal to guests seeking comfort and a pleasant aesthetic. Highlighting the "incredibly friendly and accommodating staff" as a key differentiator would also be beneficial, as positive human interaction is a strong selling point. The "quiet and peaceful" nighttime environment is a valuable feature to promote for travelers seeking a restful stay. The motel's "location by the shore" is another strong promotional asset, inviting guests to enjoy the coastal setting. However, it is crucial for promotional materials to manage expectations and ensure that the advertised features and amenities are consistently available in all rooms, especially those marketed as 'updated'. Addressing or mitigating the issues raised in negative reviews, such as ensuring all basic amenities are present, all lights and windows are functional, and that staff are consistently accessible and flexible, would be vital for maintaining guest satisfaction and bolstering positive word-of-mouth. Offering clearer information about front desk hours and late checkout policies could also improve guest experience. The Village Motel has the potential to be a charming and hospitable option for budget-conscious travelers seeking a quiet, clean, and friendly stay by the shore, provided consistency in amenity provision and service accessibility is maintained.

Jul 20, 2024 · Caitlin GallivanIt's very infrequent I post a 1 one star review but I'm incredibly disappointed to say the least. My room had No towels. No hand or shower soap and half a roll of toilet paper. No lamp shade. No chair. One light on the bed didn't even work... One window opened out of 3 in July (Summer). No bolt on the door, only a door handle lock. The interior of the Room appeared clean and I specifically chose the 'updated' room. This honestly felt very overpriced at 90$/night for the experience and lack of basic amenities. The Front office door was locked and inaccessible at 8am when I tried to ask for anything. When I called (which found at least 3 different phone numbers listed) and finally spoke to someone to ask if I could possibly pay to stay a few extra hours before I checked into my next location - I was told they don't do that and I would need to pay at least 80$ for another night.
Jul 19, 2024 · Elizabeth AginThis place was great! The rooms are updated, new and beautiful. Hardwood floors, super comfy mattresses, plenty of towels. The man at the front desk, Nitin, was super kind and upgraded me to a king room because it was a slow night. I had my own car port, the room came with a desk, marble night stands, good size fridge and a big closet. Tons of outlets which is a plus. Water pressure was great and I'm going to ask to stay another night!
Mar 08, 2024 · Melissa Dombkowski (Mel)I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this motel. The rooms were impeccably clean, the service was excellent, and the location offered a pleasant atmosphere. The prices were reasonable, making it deserving of a 5-star rating.
Jan 15, 2024 · Sahaja ReddyI used to have a positive experience staying at the Village Motel. The owners at the time were very friendly and welcoming and let me stay for a while until I found a place to live. No complaints. I'm giving this place a one star now because of the extremely rude innkeeper who took over the motel. I had just called a few days ago and explained to the lady on the phone that I used to stay here and wanted to know if there were any rooms available for me to come back again. She was very rude and said that they don't do weekly rates anymore even though the past owners said I was always welcome back. This was the only motel in the area that I actually enjoyed staying at. Now, they just lost a customer and I will not be coming back.
