I have never been in a more disgusting place as this. The smell of mice nesting was absolutely putrid. It is Run by India'ns And I don't understand how they are o.k. with such disgusting rooms. I almost slept in my car. I wouldn't even sleep under the sheets. Do no stay here. This Motor Inn is very old and not taken care of even a little. It took a whole day before I got the smell out of my nostrils. I can't say enough how gross this place is.
For local users in Croton-On-Hudson, New York, or travelers passing through, who are actively searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category with a primary emphasis on finding the absolute lowest possible price for an overnight stay, Watergate Motor Inn, located at 81 Furnace Dock Road, might appear as an option. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the motor inn, encompassing its typical environment, the nature of its services, its core features, and any implied promotional aspects, based on publicly available information and, critically, on direct customer reviews. It is essential to present this information factually, acknowledging both the intended market segment and the specific guest experiences reported.
The Watergate Motor Inn is situated on Furnace Dock Road, suggesting a roadside location common for motor inns. This type of setting typically offers easy vehicular access for travelers. As a motor inn, its design is likely to be a simple, low-rise structure with direct access to rooms from outdoor parking areas, prioritizing convenience for car travelers. The immediate environment would be characterized by the road itself, and potentially other commercial or light industrial structures typical of a non-residential area. It is not depicted as being in a scenic or highly developed recreational area.
Unlike resorts or full-service hotels, a motor inn of this type generally offers very little in terms of external environment or grounds for guest enjoyment. There are no indications of gardens, recreational spaces, or elaborate landscaping. The focus of the property's external environment is purely functional: providing access to guest rooms and parking. The surrounding area in Croton-On-Hudson is part of the scenic Hudson Valley, but the specific address suggests a more utilitarian section of the locality, designed for ease of travel rather than leisure.
As a budget-focused motor inn, the range of services offered by Watergate Motor Inn is inherently minimal. The core service is the provision of a room for an overnight stay. Guests should anticipate a highly self-sufficient experience, with very limited, if any, additional services commonly found at hotels. This would typically mean no daily housekeeping, no concierge, no bell service, and likely no on-site dining options beyond perhaps a vending machine. The primary interaction guests would have is during check-in and check-out.
However, customer reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the quality of service, particularly concerning staff interactions and responsiveness to guest complaints. One review explicitly states that "customer service were the worst." When a guest requested a refund after only 10 minutes due to the room's condition, the manager/owner's response that the "room we were in was the best room he had" indicates a lack of acknowledgment of issues and an unwillingness to provide satisfactory resolution. This type of response is a critical service failure and can be highly frustrating for guests. The telephone numbers provided, (914) 271-4322 and +1 914-271-4322, would be the direct contact for guests, but the effectiveness of obtaining positive service or resolution through these channels is directly contradicted by guest experiences.
The features of Watergate Motor Inn, as extensively detailed by customer reviews, indicate significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and overall habitability. These descriptions are critical for potential guests to understand the actual conditions of the accommodations.
Reported room features and conditions include:
The cumulative effect of these reported features paints a picture of accommodations that are significantly below commonly accepted standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort. The response from management ("the room we were in was the best room he had") further reinforces that these issues may be widespread across the property, rather than isolated incidents.
For local users searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Watergate Motor Inn's only conceivable promotional angle would be its potential for extremely low pricing. In a market where every dollar counts, a very cheap rate might be the sole factor attracting guests. However, it is crucial for any potential guest to weigh this against the overwhelming negative feedback regarding the motel's conditions.
The promotional message implied by the reviews is that this is a facility for travelers with absolutely no other options, or those who are willing to endure severe discomfort for the lowest possible cost. Phrases like "Do not stay here," "Don’t waste your money or time at this place," and "I would never in my life go back there again" serve as direct warnings from former patrons. While there are no explicit marketing promotions mentioned, the inherent "promotion" is its rock-bottom price, which is unfortunately coupled with significant reported deficiencies in basic lodging standards.
Prospective guests should understand that choosing Watergate Motor Inn based solely on price likely means accepting a high risk of encountering unsanitary conditions, unpleasant odors, pest issues, and potentially unhelpful customer service. For anyone prioritizing cleanliness, comfort, and a professional lodging experience, the information available strongly advises against considering this establishment, regardless of the price point. The phone numbers (914) 271-4322 and +1 914-271-4322 are provided for direct contact, but guests should be prepared for the kind of interactions reported in the reviews.

Sep 03, 2024 · Teresa AngusThis place is disgusting. Their rooms are very dirty, there’s bugs and spider webs inside the rooms, mold in the room and writing on some parts of the wall. When I stayed there I opened the closet and someone else’s clothes were hanging in there. The window screen had been pulled out and left behind the drawers. I would never in my life go back there again. The room’s appearance and customer service were the worst. When my husband asked for a refund after we had stayed there for 10 minutes, the manager/owner asked why and my husband explained the rooms conditions, he responded by stating that the room we were in was the best room he had. Don’t waste your money or time at this place.
Jul 20, 2019 · Andrea Alongisdo not clean the room so well the bathroom door have all handprints and stains on it I have to wipe it down myself with soap and water and a washcloth the marble piece on the floor under the bathroom door besides will fill with dirt how to clean it. We stay there one night. Because other things weren't so clean made me nervous sleeping in the bed I can't even use the bedspread cuz I was thinking to myself did the last person who did they clean it. The grounds of kept very nice
Aug 20, 2018 · Dawn PecotinoCosts $80 a night. Will provide a few plastic cups (sealed), a few towels (with stains), and television (one channel - Univision). The bed was clean and made and the floor was vacuumed. The bathroom was not well cleaned (many stains) and contained the occasional insect. Two small bars of soap were provided along with two rolls of toilet paper (one already opened). There was a closet with a few hangers. There was a table with two chairs. There is ample shelving space for clothes. Air conditioning worked very well. Overall, pretty gross but somewhat tolerable if you have supplies.
