This is an inexpensive motel within a half hour of Bar Harbor, Maine. The hotels and motels in Bar Habor are very expensive for what you get, so this was a great, inexpensive alternative. Our room was clean, and the young lady at the front desk was courteous and helpful. There are a number of steps to navigate for most of the complex, so if steps are an issue, ask before booking if you can have a room in the section with no steps. This is a no frills motel but fit our needs perfectly, and I would stay here again. Update: the gal at the front desk the this morning had zero personality. My wife got the last cup of coffee from their air pot. I asked the gal if she had more coffee. She just said no and sat there. She then got up and left the room without saying anything else and did not apologize. She came back once and then went right back to the other room, having never said anything else but "No". Very poor customer service. The young lady the night before needs to give the morning gal lessons in customer service!

The staff receives mixed reviews; while some praise the "courteous and helpful" "young lady at the front desk," others have experienced "very poor customer service" from different individuals, highlighting inconsistency. Despite this, the overall sentiment is often positive, with guests stating they "would stay here again." The motel's strategic location, allowing easy access to major attractions like Acadia National Park and essential retail outlets like Walmart, is a significant promotional point. The ongoing "improvements" mentioned by guests suggest that the motel is actively working to enhance its offerings, adding to its appeal. While it is clearly a "no frills motel," it effectively meets the needs of travelers looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to sleep while exploring the beautiful Maine coast. Sep 12, 2024 · Kevin DavisThis was such a cute place to stay. They are working on improvements. The room was very clean, comfy beds and nice staff. We enjoyed it's location to Walmart, souvenir shops and places to eat. Price was great and 30 min to Hull Visitor Center in Acadia. Really enjoyed our stay.
Oct 17, 2024 · Chrysti BeckerFirst let's start with the good. It's close to Acadia, the price is right and you can bring your pet. The towels and pillows were both nice quality. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. The fridge does a good job and is nice and cold. The TV in the room is nice as well. Now for the bad, the room smelled damp, moldy, like wet dog, and cigarettes. They try to cover it up with plug in air fresheners which only makes it worse. The A/C units leave the rooms very very humid for some reason. We mostly ended up keeping the windows open to air the room out. The mattress must be original to the building of the motel. It was the most uncomfortable and squeaky mattress I ever had the displeasure of sleeping on. The walls are very thin and the hotel is pet friendly. So I hope you are a deep sleeper, because you will hear your neighbors and their pets so clearly its like they are in the room with you. There was also no maid service at all during our 5 day stay. We had to hunt down a maid for a towel, toilet paper and soap refills. They do provide an envelope for a tip for the maids though. My tip is provide maid service for people during a multi-day stay if you expect money in that envelope. Also do you enjoy hot showers? Well too bad for you. Luke warm water it is! Lastly, the deadbolt on the room door is purely ornamental. Never again, not even for free.
Aug 08, 2024 · Greg PeterkinPros: The staff is friendly and ready to help. The rooms are clean in that the floors and bedding are newly washed. The beds and pillows were comfy and felt new. The tv had Roku set up so it was easy to find something to watch as you fall asleep. I don’t think the Cons listed are directly the staff’s fault but I *would* want to know about them ahead of time if I was researching to stay here so: Cons: The building itself is dirty, the fixtures are old, scummy and need to be deep cleaned. The rooms were dark (there’s no big light, only 2 lamps) There wasn’t soap in the bathroom and I couldn’t bring myself to use the shower. The toilet paper holder was broken and the faucet was the kind that is either off or BLASTS with a fizzy sound. The walls and doors need to be wiped down. I took a spoon out of the drawer and it was covered in some kind of yellow grime. The site said they’re renovating so maybe they’ve still yet to do a big clean. It’s not close enough to Acadia to be convenient, and not cheap enough (for me at least) to offset all the cons.
Aug 24, 2024 · AnnaHonestly this room was great. AC worked, plenty of space and it was very clean and smelled nice. The service was lackluster but it’s a motel so who really cares. If you do you should be at a Hilton. This place was close the national park and other services! I would stay again no doubt.
