The cabins were perfect to stay in. The BBQ grills they had was nice and clean. The downsize was the shuttle. Again, The shuttle SUCKS! My family and I waited for the RED LINE bus to take us back to the cabin for more than 30minutes. Oh lets not forget the 5 other families waiting for the same shuttle and getting pissed about it not arriving on time. We must have seen the blue line shuttle pass by as dozen times. The lobby attendant knew we all were waiting for Red Line buses to go to the cabin, but they don’t care or did nothing. We asked them many times to call the shuttle. Finally, a nice Green link shuttle asked us what bus we were waiting for and he said he is going to page the Red Line shuttle. Talk about waiting forever to go to your own cabin just sucks. Plans for the night ruin because the plan on the shuttle end sucks bad.
When you're staying at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells, you're not just at a hotel; you're in a massive "Wilderness Territory" that spans over 600 acres. This sprawling property, home to multiple lodges, cabins, waterparks, and attractions, requires an efficient way for guests to get around. This is where the Wilderness Shuttle Department comes in. The shuttle system is a critical component of the guest experience, designed to connect all the different areas of the resort. While the resort offers a wide array of lodging options, from hotel rooms and suites to spacious cabins and condos, the shuttle is the main artery that links them all together, ensuring guests can easily access all the fun and amenities available.
The concept of a resort shuttle service is a fantastic feature for a property of this size, as it allows guests to park their car and forget about it for the duration of their stay. It's a key part of the resort's commitment to making your vacation as convenient as possible. However, as with any large-scale transportation system, guest experiences can vary. While many find it an essential and convenient service, others have noted challenges with wait times, particularly for specific shuttle lines. The system operates with different color-coded routes, such as the "Red Line" and "Blue Line," which serve various areas of the resort. Understanding how the shuttle system works is crucial to making the most of your stay and avoiding any potential frustration.
The Wilderness Shuttle Department is based out of the larger Wilderness Resort, with a mailing address of 45 Hillman Rd, Baraboo, WI 53913, USA. This location is central to the vast Wilderness Territory, which stretches between Baraboo and Lake Delton. The shuttle service itself is designed to provide transportation throughout this entire territory. Its accessibility is a significant benefit for guests, as it connects key areas like the main hotel lobbies, the numerous indoor and outdoor waterparks, dining options, and recreational facilities.
For guests staying in the more secluded cabins and retreats, which are often a few minutes' drive from the main hotel areas, the shuttle is a vital service. It allows them to travel to and from the waterparks and other attractions without the hassle of moving their own vehicle. The shuttle's continuous routes among designated locations are designed to be a seamless part of the vacation experience. However, it's worth noting that guests should be prepared for potential wait times, especially during peak hours. Reviewers have mentioned that while some shuttles, like the "Blue Line," may pass by frequently, others, such as the "Red Line," can have longer wait times. It is recommended to check the shuttle schedules, which are often available in-room or at guest services, to better plan your day and minimize waiting.
