Took the time to transition here with full transparency of where I’m transitioning from. I suppose with the questions I asked it was apparent that I came from another location. I took the time to explain what I experienced. Everything was actually explained in more detail and I did not experience one disgruntled employee. I,again, thought I found the transitional space for my clan and I. Unfortunately the morning of what would’ve been the first week here I was informed of the unfortunate news. I was set to check out on the morning of the 23rd. I asked why and it was explained that I was placed on a DO NOT RENT list. I asked if anything could be done because I am no longer at the other property for one and two I don’t cause any problems. I was told to speak to the Gm in the morning. I came down but unfortunately nothing more beyond the turn around was achieved. He explained the only thing that could be done was calling corporate’s number and attempting to override the decision. However, upon calling corporate they explained that all are individually owned and the only thing I can do is work something out with the gm of the previous location. I called the other location and even attempted a face to face response to no avail, so I called this location back. He explained the absence of the previous gm and again nothing he could do. Again no one let me know anything ahead of time and the vindictiveness continued until it can’t any longer.
For many of us in Maryland, whether we’re undergoing a home renovation, on a long-term work assignment, or hosting out-of-town guests who need more than just a hotel room, finding the right "extended stay" accommodation is key. Traditional hotels often fall short when you need the comforts and conveniences of home for more than just a night or two. This is where WoodSpring Suites Washington DC East Arena Drive in Hyattsville comes into its own. Designed specifically for longer stays, this property offers apartment-style living with essential amenities, making it a practical and often more affordable solution for those needing a home base for weeks or even months.
It's important to understand that an extended stay hotel like WoodSpring Suites operates differently from a conventional hotel. While a past customer review mentioned a highly unfortunate situation regarding a "Do Not Rent" list from a previous property, which resulted in a frustrating check-in experience and communication challenges related to that specific issue and staff discretion, it doesn't reflect the general functionality of the hotel itself. Other information highlights a commitment to providing comfortable, clean, and well-equipped rooms for extended stays. WoodSpring Suites aims to provide "clean and comfortable rooms, and a professional, friendly staff that's available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." This focus on the essentials, combined with in-room kitchens, makes it a viable option for locals needing flexible, cost-effective lodging in the Prince George's County area.
WoodSpring Suites Washington DC East Arena Drive is conveniently located at 1603 Brightseat Rd, Hyattsville, MD 20785, USA. This strategic position places it within easy reach of several key attractions and major transportation routes for those of us living in Maryland. Hyattsville offers a more suburban feel while still providing excellent access to both Prince George's County destinations and Washington, D.C.
The hotel’s proximity to the Capital Beltway (I-495/I-95) is a major advantage for local residents and visitors alike, allowing for straightforward driving access to surrounding areas. For sports fans or event-goers, it's less than a mile from FedEx Field, making it an ideal choice for game days or concerts. Other nearby points of interest include the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex (approximately 1.1 miles away), Six Flags America (about a 9-minute drive), and Greenbelt Park. While not directly on a Metro line, the Largo Town Center Metro Station (Blue/Silver Line) is a relatively short distance away, offering a direct route into Washington, D.C. for those preferring public transit. For shopping and dining needs, the Boulevard at the Capital Centre is less than a mile away, providing quick and convenient access to plenty of stores and restaurants, including popular chains like TGI Friday's, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Golden Corral. This blend of easy highway access and proximity to local amenities makes it a practical choice for extended stays in the Maryland-DC metropolitan area.

Free Self-Parking: Ample complimentary parking is available on-site, a valuable amenity in the DC metro area, especially for guests with vehicles.

Vending Machines: Conveniently located for quick snacks and beverages.
Three Apartment-Style Room Layouts: Offers flexibility in room choice, with options for queen- or king-sized beds and sofas in select rooms, allowing guests to choose the layout that best suits their needs.
WoodSpring Suites Washington DC East Arena Drive distinguishes itself with several key features designed to enhance the extended stay experience:
All-Suite, Apartment-Style Living: Every room is a spacious suite with a separate sitting area and a full kitchen, providing a genuine home-like environment, which is a significant upgrade from a standard hotel room for longer durations.
In-Room Kitchens for Cost Savings: The presence of full-size refrigerators, stovetops, and microwaves in every suite allows guests to prepare their own meals, significantly cutting down on dining expenses, a major benefit for extended stays.
Exceptional Value with Flexible Rates: The hotel offers daily, weekly, and monthly rates, with savings increasing the longer you stay. This flexibility and cost-effectiveness are core to the WoodSpring Suites model, aiming to be a "Value Place."
Convenient Location for Regional Access: Situated near the Capital Beltway, it offers easy driving access to Washington D.C., and major attractions in Prince George's County like FedEx Field. While one review mentions a staff issue, other generalized feedback about Woodspring Suites mentions "great value and great location."
Practical Amenities for Long Stays: Features like on-site guest laundry, a fitness center, and free parking cater directly to the needs of guests staying for an extended period, adding to convenience and comfort.
Pet-Friendly Policy: Welcoming dogs makes it a suitable option for those who need to travel with their pets, a crucial feature for many extended-stay travelers.
Commitment to Cleanliness: WoodSpring Suites emphasizes a "Commitment to Clean," with bi-weekly room cleaning for occupied extended-stay rooms, ensuring a fresh and hygienic environment.
WoodSpring Suites Washington DC East Arena Drive is built on a model of affordability for longer stays, and its primary "promotions" are often embedded in its flexible rate structures. While specific limited-time deals can vary, here’s what locals can generally expect in terms of value:
Weekly and Monthly Rates: The most significant benefit is the reduced nightly rate for extended stays. Guests can save significantly by booking for a week or a month compared to daily rates. WoodSpring Suites explicitly states, "Save an average of 34% off nightly rates*" for weekly stays and "Save an average of 44% off nightly rates*" for monthly stays.
Inherent Savings from In-Room Kitchens: By having full kitchens in every suite, guests save a substantial amount by preparing their own meals, which is a continuous "promotion" over the course of an extended stay.
Free Parking and Wi-Fi: These are standard inclusions that contribute to overall cost savings, as many traditional hotels charge extra for these services.
Direct Booking Benefits: While not a discount, booking directly through the WoodSpring Suites website often provides access to the best available rates and ensures you receive all necessary pre-arrival information promptly.
Limited-Time Hotel Deals: It's always worth checking the "Offers" section on the WoodSpring Suites corporate website. They frequently post specific limited-time promotions, which might apply to this location.
Pet-Friendly Accommodation: While there's a fee, offering pet-friendly rooms is a valuable service for many, preventing the need for costly pet boarding or less suitable accommodations.

For us Maryland residents, WoodSpring Suites Washington DC East Arena Drive in Hyattsville serves as an incredibly practical and often superior alternative to traditional hotels, especially when facing situations that require an extended stay. We know the ins and outs of our local area, and this hotel's setup caters directly to needs that a typical overnight stay simply can't fulfill.
Consider scenarios like a home renovation that displaces your family for a few weeks, a temporary work assignment in Prince George's County or downtown D.C., or even hosting out-of-town relatives for an extended period. In these situations, the all-suite, apartment-style rooms with fully equipped kitchens are a game-changer. Being able to cook your own meals, store groceries, and even do laundry on-site significantly cuts down on expenses and provides a much greater sense of normalcy and independence than hotel dining and services. This kind of flexibility is precisely what many of us locals need.
The location on Brightseat Road offers easy access to the Capital Beltway, making commutes to various parts of Maryland, Northern Virginia, and D.C. straightforward. If you're attending an event at FedEx Field or working in the nearby business parks, the convenience is unparalleled. Plus, the availability of free self-parking is a huge bonus in this area. While the isolated negative review regarding a "Do Not Rent" list from a separate property and communication issues is certainly unfortunate, it's crucial to evaluate WoodSpring Suites on its intended purpose and general offerings: providing a comfortable, cost-effective, and functional base for longer durations. For locals needing a flexible and self-sufficient living solution, WoodSpring Suites Washington DC East Arena Drive offers precisely that, a true "home away from home" in our own backyard.

May 23, 2025 · Shaunique LanhamThe service was absolutely terrible. The front desk attitude is truly disgusting. They don’t provide any pots, pans, or anything for the kitchen. The shower head was light on pressure. I would think the staff would be more friendly. You never know what people are going through and they simply don’t care. I will never come back.
May 09, 2025 · Tyra LevellThis place is disgusting. To start off with, the rate shown on the internet was not honored.. I was charged $40 over the posted price because I was a walk-in.. I have never had that happen in the past. When we got to the room, it had drawer fronts missing on the cabinets, the blinds were broken off, Amazon bed frame with bad mattresses covered in plastic. The toilet was dirty.. We were so tired from traveling that we had no choice but to stay. We didn't dare to shower, we weren't sure if it had been cleaned, especially because when I read the inside of the door key card, it said we clean the room every 2 weeks! Awful!! Run away from this place as fast as you can.
Mar 26, 2025 · Rebekah CookThis review is specifically about Makayla, she is very accommodating very knowledgeable, and very helpful and is always on point. She is friendly and is just pleasant to see and chit chat with when coming in. Always smiling and just showing what excellent customer service is. Please keep her around!
Jun 03, 2025 · Ilana BettertonStayed at WoodSpring Suites recently and honestly had a way better experience than I expected. The place was clean, quiet, and super convenient for a longer stay. It has all the essentials you need—kitchenette, solid Wi-Fi, comfy bed, and decent water pressure (which I feel like no one talks about enough). What really made the stay stand was Marcia and Makayla at the front desk. Seriously, they were both amazing . Marcia was super professional and just had this calm, helpful vibe. She handled everything quickly and made check-in feel totally stress-free. Makayla was so friendly and nice every time I saw her—like she genuinely cared about making sure I was taken care of. You can tell both of them actually like helping people, which is rare to find these days. If you’re looking for a solid, place to stay—especially for more than a night or two—this the spot. And when you go ask for Marcia or Makayla, I promise you’ll be good. I'd 100% stay here again
