Definitely a good buy for your money. A bit of noise pollution from being alongside route one, I would recommend a white noise app or machine if you are a light sleeper. I think that they needs some more customer service skills and training, as well as better time management when having rooms booked clean and ready. Sometimes the check in process is quick and easy other times, there is no one waiting at the desk and you have to hang around even after ringing bell for quite sometime, the people that work at the desk here are not entirely familiar with manners or customer service as you’d expect at a regular hotel, and the rest of the staff are frequently on their phones and distracted upon arrival. The most of the rooms smell of smoke including some non smoking. Some rooms have mold others do not, and the air filters are never clean. It’s really a 50/50 chance with this place. I will say after speaking and getting a better understand of the miscommunication the lady at the desk was very nice and reasonable. Overall decent. I prefer this place over any other in the area as I always know what I’m getting for my money. Thank you to the staff at this location for being available and mostly friendly during these hard times!

You can contact them directly at (732) 634-3212 or +1 732-634-3212 for reservations and inquiries. This motel, part of the Americas Best Value Inn chain, is often recognized by guests for its competitive pricing, though it comes with a mix of feedback regarding its environment and service quality. It's a place where you "always know what you're getting for your money," as one reviewer stated, implying a consistent budget-tier experience.
The environment at Americas Best Value Inn Avenel Woodbridge is best described as functional and, at times, inconsistent. Situated "alongside route one," guests should anticipate "a bit of noise pollution," with recommendations for a white noise app or machine for light sleepers. The exterior and stairwells have been described in some critical reviews as "the nastiest I have ever seen in a place of lodging," indicating areas where upkeep may be lacking. Inside the rooms, experiences vary significantly, with one guest stating it's a "50/50 chance with this place." Some rooms are reported to "smell of smoke, including some non-smoking" rooms, and there can be issues with "mold" and unclean "air filters." However, other reviews contradict this, praising rooms that "looked very modern, was extremely clean, and also comfortable," suggesting that the hotel may have undergone partial renovations or that cleanliness can vary by room. The property encompasses 42 accommodation units across two floors, with common areas generally offering a basic, no-frills appearance. The hotel is a smoke-free property in its non-smoking rooms, but it does offer designated smoking areas. It lacks an elevator, so guests should be prepared to use stairs.
The services at Americas Best Value Inn Avenel Woodbridge are primarily focused on providing essential lodging needs. A 24-hour front desk is available for check-ins and check-outs, as well as addressing immediate guest needs. However, customer service at the front desk is a frequent point of criticism. Reviews mention "no one waiting at the desk" requiring guests to "hang around even after ringing bell for quite sometime," and staff who are "not entirely familiar with manners or customer service as you'd expect at a regular hotel." Some guests experienced "rudest and most unprofessional staff," describing a lack of acknowledgment upon arrival and dismissive interactions. Conversely, one reviewer mentioned a positive interaction where "the lady at the desk was very nice and reasonable" after a miscommunication, suggesting variability in staff performance. Complimentary wireless internet access is available throughout the property and in all guest rooms, which is a crucial service. Free self-parking is also provided on-site, a valuable amenity, especially for a roadside motel. Limited housekeeping services are offered. While some older information might mention complimentary breakfast, current details suggest no meals are included, making it a "room only" offering. Luggage storage is available for guests' convenience. The hotel is pet-friendly, which is a helpful service for those traveling with animals, although fees may apply.
The guest rooms at Americas Best Value Inn Avenel Woodbridge are equipped with practical amenities aimed at providing basic comfort and convenience for budget-conscious travelers. Each of the 42 air-conditioned rooms typically includes a refrigerator and a microwave, which are highly valued features for guests looking to save on dining expenses or store leftovers. Flat-screen televisions with cable channels are standard, offering entertainment options. Private bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub or shower and complimentary toiletries. Rooms also include air conditioning and heating for climate control. While some older reviews suggest issues with air conditioner functionality and cleanliness of air filters, the presence of these units is standard. Free WiFi in rooms ensures connectivity. Guests can choose between smoking and non-smoking room types. Given the mixed reviews on room quality, it's worth noting that amenities might vary slightly between individual rooms based on recent upkeep. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or significant recreational facilities like a pool or fitness center, which aligns with its budget motel category. However, the presence of in-room refrigerators and microwaves compensates for the lack of on-site dining beyond vending machines.
The primary promotional draw for Americas Best Value Inn Avenel Woodbridge, especially for local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," is its exceptional price point. Guests consistently highlight it as a "good buy for your money" and an "excellent deal," often preferring it "over any other in the area" due to its affordability. While direct "promotions" in the traditional sense might not be extensively advertised, the inherent value of its low price compared to higher-tier hotels is its main selling point. As part of the Americas Best Value Inn chain, guests might find occasional discounts or loyalty program benefits via the Vantage Rewards program, though these are typically modest given the already low rates. The hotel's location at 966 US-1 in Avenel is strategically advantageous for travelers. It offers easy access to major highways, including the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway, making it convenient for those commuting or exploring Central New Jersey. It's also near the Avenel train station (approximately 0.8 km) and Linden Airport (5.9 km), appealing to travelers relying on public transport or regional flights. Nearby attractions include the Woodbridge Center, Menlo Park Mall, and various dining options along US-1. For those attending events or working in the area, its proximity to facilities like the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center and Rutgers New Brunswick (within a 15-minute drive) is beneficial. Despite the mixed reviews concerning staff and cleanliness, the hotel's consistent affordability and practical amenities make it a viable option for travelers who prioritize budget over extensive luxury or flawless service, particularly for short stays or when a no-frills, cost-effective base is needed in the Avenel/Woodbridge area.

Apr 23, 2025 · Tyler James Brakefield (Ty)If I could give this place a zero star I would not hesitate. The rudest and most unprofessional staff I have ever have the misfortune to meet. No acknowledgement to your presence as you wait to check in, no response to greeting then the moment they look your way it’s “what do you want”, or a head tilt. No desire to interact with you whatsoever even though your booking was confirmed prior to arrival. Room reeked, stairwell and environment the nastiest I have ever seen in a place of lodging. I could go on but stay as far away from this dump as you can. I couldn’t wait until I left to leave a review. Had to move to another lodging 2 minutes from here as I could not stand it
May 17, 2025 · IsatouYou get what you pay for - this is one perfect example for it. I just need one for overnight stay to pickup somebody from EWR. It's a awful place. Very very noisy - next to Route 1 - noise levels are too high which can easily disturb your sleep. Quality of rooms are very bad. Lights are so dim so one cannot see the imperfections (I believe). Door knob was coming out. There was no ceiling fan in a very low ceiling height(may be 7.5 feet). Bathroom mirror cracked. A/C or heat not working(thank fully it was mid of march for me). Floor quality was absolutely the worst. NJ and NY are totally rundown places and it will be much better that everything should restart all over again. Overall quality of living is very substandard for very high prices. Worst thing - front desk folks were as rude and unfriendly as they could to add to the misery. Wifi password was provided - it was the weakest wifi - i decided to use my data plan. TV was not working and to report that-when i tried calling then phone was also not working. So i thought of going to front desk(it was a joke of a front desk)-nobody was there. Thanks god - it was just for few hours. Only good thing was parking was free as near to EWR most of the hotels don't have free parking.
Mar 21, 2025 · Ashutosh SharmaWe booked room here for 2 night but couldn't stay more than 1 night. Lock of room was not working properly. It was not cleaned at all. Bedsheet was not washed. Bathroom was uncleaned. Most important there was some kind of smell trapped in room. They don't provide any facility.
Jan 01, 2025 · Sharayu WaghMy one-night stay was good enough. The bed, shower, & toilet were clean & effective enough. There are some stains on the walls, & the plastic cups were wet, & stink of ashtray rinsing. That means the ashtray was rinsed but dripped onto the cups, rendering them filthy & useless. The remote controls for the TV could use some wiping & cleaning. But overall the room could be worse. Better than some of the reviews on Hotels.com. Fine enough for my hybrid work & leisure trip. Oh, also, the issued bar soap needs a lot of rubbing & coaxing before it works up a lather.
