Trust me, don't stay here if cleanliness is important to you. The photos on the website are highly deceiving. Not only was our room dingy and dirty, the common areas are also pretty gross. The lobby furniture is stained and highly uninviting. The pool and jacuzzi are out of order. Sounds like that's been the case for a long time according to other reviews. As for our room, consider this: - The bed was wet to the touch. The bedding was either not dried properly OR the a/c is spewing cold MOIST air into the room. Who wants to sleep on a damp bed!!?? I had to get the staff to get DRY bedding on the bed. - The room reeks of cigarettes. This was supposed to be a non-smoking room. - The towels were stinky and filthy with stains. You could see the towels were not laundered between guests. One of the face towels had a curly black pubic hair on it. DISGUSTING. How is this place still in business?
For residents of Wisconsin, knowing the lay of the land when it comes to local accommodations is essential for everything from hosting visiting family to planning a quick, budget-friendly getaway. The Americas Best Value Inn & Suites in Racine is one such option that local residents may consider. This article provides a clear and factual overview of this hotel, pulling from publicly available information and genuine customer feedback to give a realistic picture of what a stay here entails. Our goal is to help you, as a Wisconsin local, make an informed decision by presenting a balanced look at its location, services, and the experiences of previous guests.
The Americas Best Value Inn brand is generally known for its focus on providing affordable, no-frills lodging. This location in Racine fits that mold, and it's a hotel that often appeals to travelers who prioritize low cost over luxury amenities. The hotel's website and marketing materials typically highlight its value proposition, including its kids-stay-free policy, free Wi-Fi, and complimentary continental breakfast. These are appealing features for families and budget-conscious travelers. The hotel is located in a city known for its historic downtown, beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, and various attractions, including buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. This suggests that the hotel aims to serve as a base for guests who are primarily interested in exploring the surrounding area.
However, it is crucial to consider the full spectrum of customer experiences to form a complete understanding. One customer review paints a very concerning picture, describing the room as "dingy and dirty" with a bed that was "wet to the touch." This review also mentioned a strong cigarette smell in a supposed non-smoking room and towels that were "stinky and filthy with stains," including a "pubic hair." This guest’s experience was overwhelmingly negative, leading them to question how the place remains in business. On the other hand, another reviewer who stayed for an extended period for work provided a more mixed but less critical perspective. While they noted that the pool and hot tub were consistently closed and the shower often lacked hot water, they also stated that the rooms were cleaned most days and found the place to be "not a bad place to stay," especially considering the price. This guest concluded that it's a step below a more expensive chain like Holiday Inn, which is a fair assessment of the Americas Best Value Inn brand.
These contrasting reviews highlight the need for potential guests to manage their expectations. While the hotel may be a good fit for some, particularly those on a tight budget who are prepared for some potential inconsistencies, it may not be suitable for others who prioritize high standards of cleanliness and a full range of working amenities. The hotel's commitment to continuous improvement and guest satisfaction is a variable factor, and these reviews suggest that the experience can be inconsistent.

Jul 27, 2025 · T StadtI stayed here for about 5 weeks for work. The pool/hot tub was closed the entire time. The shower did not have hot water most days, it was kind of warm? They did clean the room most days, and the rooms were clean. Not a bad place to stay. Just not up to par with a Holiday Inn or anything, which reflects in the price
Jun 22, 2025 · Jake WalrathOur party reserved 5 rooms months before the HD Homecoming weekend. While on our way from Indiana we got a call that they wanted to cancel our reservations. They stated they had a water pipe break. We later determined that was a lie they just wanted to rent the rooms at the event weekend rate. We ended up with 3 of the 5 rooms. The other half of our party had to get rooms on the other side of Racine. Rooms smelled funky, no housekeeping services. Two of the four lights in my room didn't work. Staff have us a hard time when we asked for clean towels. I highly recommend you avoid this dump. Rooms do not look like what is pictured on Google.
Jul 16, 2025 · Justin PoseyWish I could give 0 stars. Place smells horribly like Marijuana and garbage. Rooms are in terrible shape. There was standing water in our tub, old food on the floor, stains on all the bed sheets and pillows and hairs on the towels. The breakfast was worse than pathetic. And to top it off, one of the scummy guests attempted to break into our car! Horrible experience. Please don't stay here unless you are a street worker or drug user.
May 26, 2025 · Jess SmithOnce and never again Hallways smelled like humidity and cigarettes Rooms smelled humid Bed sheets were all wet/damp It was 2am when i got back to the hotel and was too tired to go back downstairs to complain about the bed sheets. So I had to remove them to atleast get some sleep When i checked out I mention it to the front desk. All they had to say was thanks for letting them know. Seems like they weren’t surprised. I should’ve known the red flag right when i got there to check in. Lady from the bottom floor smoking a cigarette from her room by the window
