This place was awful. We crashed here for a night during our road trip to Miami and the room was terrible. It smelled like mildew, there were no blankets on the bed (just a thin sheet and quilt), and the bathroom was tiny and disgusting. The shower was filthy and had almost no water pressure. We weren't looking for anything fancy as we just needed a place to sleep and shower before hitting the road early the next morning, but I wish we had stayed somewhere else. I wish I could rate zero stars.
The Best Western Bordentown Inn, located at 1068 US-206, Bordentown, NJ 08505, USA, is a lodging option that frequently appears for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Central New Jersey area. As part of the globally recognized Best Western brand, it aims to offer a comfortable and convenient stay for both leisure and business travelers. However, like any hotel, experiences can vary, and an objective introduction requires considering all available information, including direct property descriptions and customer feedback.
The Best Western Bordentown Inn is strategically situated on US-206, offering excellent accessibility to major thoroughfares such as I-295 and the New Jersey Turnpike. This location is a significant advantage for travelers, making it easy to reach various destinations, including Six Flags Great Adventure, Wild Safari, and Hurricane Harbor Park, which are just one exit away. It also provides convenient access to educational institutions like Princeton University, historical sites like the Camden Aquarium, and military facilities such as Fort Dix and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. The surrounding area offers numerous dining options and local shops.
The physical environment of the inn itself presents a mixed picture based on guest reviews. While some guests describe it as a standard Best Western property, others highlight concerns regarding its age and upkeep. Built in 1987 and last remodeled in 1997, the hotel may exhibit signs of wear. Negative feedback often points to issues like mildew smells in rooms, tiny and "disgusting" bathrooms, filthy showers, and low water pressure. These experiences suggest that while the location is undeniably convenient, the interior environment of some rooms might not meet modern cleanliness or comfort standards for all guests. Conversely, some recent reviews note a "cozy" and "well-kept" atmosphere, indicating potential variability in room quality or recent localized improvements not universally applied. The hotel features exterior corridors, meaning room entrances are directly accessible from outside, a common layout for motels.
The Best Western Bordentown Inn strives to provide a range of services designed to enhance guest comfort. A 24-hour front desk is available, staffed by individuals who are sometimes praised for being "friendly" and "helpful," particularly in attempts to resolve issues like room problems. The hotel officially provides daily housekeeping, although the effectiveness of this service is disputed by some reviews, which highlight significant cleanliness issues.
One prominent service offering is a complimentary continental breakfast, typically served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This breakfast usually includes items like French toast sticks, various breads, muffins, cereal, fruit, eggs, yogurt, juice, and coffee. This can be a valuable amenity for guests looking to start their day without an additional expense. However, some guests have expressed disappointment with the breakfast quality, describing it as "just okay" or "nothing special," particularly if expectations are for a hot, extensive spread.
Other services include free self-parking for cars, trucks, and buses, which is a definite plus for road travelers. Luggage storage is available, as is a business center with printer and fax services. There are also vending machines and an ATM on site for guest convenience. Housekeeping may require scheduling for longer stays, as some reviews suggest it's not daily by default for extended periods.
The Best Western Bordentown Inn offers a suite of features typical of a mid-range hotel. Rooms are generally equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, free high-speed internet access (Wi-Fi), a microwave, a refrigerator, and a coffee/tea maker. Standard room amenities also include an iron and ironing board, and hairdryers. Some select rooms and suites reportedly feature whirlpool bathtubs, providing an elevated experience for guests. Non-smoking rooms are available, and the hotel generally operates as a 100% smoke-free property.
For recreation and wellness, the hotel advertises an indoor heated pool and a hot tub/whirlpool, along with a sauna. There is also an exercise facility/fitness center, typically open from 9 AM to 8 PM, equipped with cardio machines, strength training equipment, and free weights. However, it's important to note that recent reviews indicate that the pool and fitness center may be "unavailable until further notice" or "broken," suggesting that these amenities are not consistently operational. This inconsistency can be a significant disappointment for guests who book based on these advertised features.
The hotel also has accessible features, including wheelchair-accessible parking spaces, clear pathways to entrances, accessible room controls, and visual fire alarms, demonstrating an effort to cater to guests with mobility needs.
Best Western Bordentown Inn's promotional efforts typically highlight its value and strategic location. It positions itself as a convenient and affordable option for travelers visiting the Bordentown area and nearby attractions. Key promotional messages include:
However, for local users considering this hotel under the "Hotels Near Of Me" search, it is crucial to balance these promotional claims with recent guest feedback. The numerous reports of strong mildew smells, inadequate bedding, small and dirty bathrooms with poor water pressure, and non-functional amenities like hair dryers and the pool suggest that potential guests should manage their expectations regarding cleanliness and overall room quality. While some guests have had positive experiences, particularly regarding the staff and location, the consistency of these positive experiences appears to be a concern based on recent, highly critical reviews. It seems to cater primarily to those seeking a very basic overnight stay with a focus on location and a lower price point, rather than a comfortable and pristine environment.

Apr 13, 2025 · Johanna WheelerI wish I could give this hotel zero stars. There was no hair dryer in the room, and when I asked the front desk, they said they didn’t have one available. To make matters worse, I found a stain in the bathroom and a spider in the bathroom as well. The service was disappointing, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. Definitely not worth the price, and I will never stay here again. I do not recommend staying here.
Feb 17, 2025 · Dharmishta Patell (Madhuri Patell)I have stayed at this location numerous times.. including when they had no hot water. Out of all my stays.. I asked to switch rooms twice . Once when there was food left in the room from prior occupants and once when the room didn't smell" fresh" not certain cause of the offensive odor. My last stay was uncomfortable and I did mention this to the front desk the following morning upon checking out early ( due to the uncomfortable bed, we were in room less than 10 hrs). Low and behold I went to book a reservation at location ( mind you room was free because I have so many points from all my stays) and was informed by front desk that I am on the ( do not rent) list. So.. the establishment sends surveys and asks for feedback but retaliates against you and doesn't even contact you to ask how they may be able to rectify the situation if your response is negative. Working in customer service for over 25 years... this would never be anything acceptable to customers with issues where I worked as a resolution. I can see why they are receiving negative reviews.....
Dec 18, 2024 · BeckiThe room had recently been renovated, but it had not been cleaned or properly reset after the last visitor. The coffee packet was open and had partially used condiments; there was no shampoo, only lotion and conditioner; the floor was sticky, and the shower had multiple black hairs in it (I am blonde). The check-in was easy and the staff was friendly. Parking was plentiful. It is located right off the highway, so it is convenient for a quick stop, but not a very nice neighborhood.
Oct 20, 2024 · Wendy Snow WalkerFirst time staying here. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Rooms were recently renovated, front desk staff friendly and professional.
