I have to start by acknowledging the person who checked us in during the evening hours (5-9pm) of Sunday, July 13. I didn’t catch her name at the time, but the gentleman the next morning said it may have been Autumn. If that’s not right, I can say she was a young lady with sort of wavy/curly light brown or sandy blonde hair, and she had a smiley piercing (inside of upper lip piercing that shows when smiling). I was at the desk on 3 occasions, and each time I witnessed her handling very stressful circumstances with grace, professionalism, and compassion. A long line at the desk, a man giving her a hard time because he didn’t have a card to put on file for incidentals/security (who doesn’t know that hotels require this?), and multiple people cutting in line with their “quick questions” that distracted her from the person in front of her. She handled everyone so well, never showing frustration or getting flustered, even though she definitely could have used some help! When we later had to call down to the desk to ask for sheets for the pull-out sofa bed, it was the same girl from the front desk that delivered them! I would have gone down myself if I had known she was going to have to leave the desk to come to us, but once again, she never said that or seemed bothered at all. Like, does anyone else even work at this hotel? That girl needs either a raise or to be on a fast track to becoming a manager. Her customer service skills were on point! That being said, we also enjoyed the pool, the hot tub, the game room, the keurig k-cup style (different brand) of coffee, the clean and spacious room, large bathroom, and even a cocktail at the Old Chicago restaurant on site. Everything was excellent! I don’t know if I’ll ever be in Dubuque, IA again (don’t exactly come this way often), but if I do, I will be staying here again!

Jul 14, 2025 · KerryThis is by far the best Best Western my spouse and I have had the pleasure to enjoy. The jets in the jacuzzi would've been better if they were more powerful but other than that.... Check in was easy. Comfortable beds, fluffy pillows, clean linens, pool towels stocked, disinfected bathroom, water pressure in the shower was perfect along with hot water working was a HUGE PLUS. Staff that we ran into were so nice with a positive attitude. Breakfast was top tier with staff overlooking it all making sure food was stocked and tables were cleaned. Ice machines and all the drinking water availability was amazing. The connecting restaurant with Old Chicago was fun for a late night snack. I loved the amenities this location had available to guest. Would definitely be using this location again.Thank you for the good night rest and making our travels that much relaxed with a belly full of delicious breakfast💕
May 26, 2025 · Jeff&Nicole GonzalesFront desk manager was excellent. As was the other employee at that time. All other employees we encountered were very friendly. Breakfast was great, eggs, sausage, potatoes and pancakes along with fruit and cereal options. Great area with pool, hot tub, pingpong and pool table. Small game room with some video games and air hockey table. We were traveling with 2 eight year olds and it worked out great for us. The handicap rooms were set up great and this place was very clean. Close to shopping also. We would stay here again, if ever in the area
Jul 22, 2025 · Angela KennedyStay Away From Room 246. Good: Front desk person was amazing. She was polite and professional even though it was very busy. Lobby and surrounding areas, including the entrance to the pool, drive, green spaces and our room were very clean and well kept. Bad: Keep in mind I asked for a quiet room. Our semi handicapped room was located directly under/next to the stairs. People were running up and down until 1am. Toddler above us had a tantrum from 1:30 to 2:30, crying and running around. At 4am every trucker and construction worker started a parade out to the parking lot DRAGGING THEIR SUITCASES DOWN EVERY FLIGHT OF STAIRS, banging out coolers right outside our window. It was horribly loud all night long! Obviously this is all out of hotel control but you can hear EVERYTHING. Bed was as hard as the floor. Why would they put what amounts to a box spring in a handicap room? It was probably one of the worst nights I've ever had. It would be in their best interest to never let anyone occupy that room. It started out promising but didn't live up to my initial impression. We weren't interested in the pool and rec area so I can't rate that but it looked like it could be fun. There was a ping pong table, maybe more. I might consider staying again but specifically asking for a room away from the exits and stairs. 1 star for room location and comfort, 4 stars for amenities.
Jun 08, 2025 · Cin dyI stayed here for one night. The location was good, as it was pretty central to everywhere I wanted to go to in Dubuque. I had gotten a room upgrade from a regular king room to a suite upgrade, which was a nice surprise. I didnt utilize the free breakfast, so I don't have comments on that. I would say the downside to this hotel for me was the room location. My room was right next to a set of stairs with a door and also facing the atrium. The walls are thin, so the noise from the pool/atrium would echo all day and all night and I would constantly hear the door from the stairs opening and closing. I was able to sleep through it, however was annoying to hear yelling in the morning while I'm trying to sleep in. One other minor issue I had was that the sheets on my bed were ripped which should've been noticed while making the bed.
