Both of our beds had stains on them. The wall has dirty spots on it. The bathroom was dirty. The hotel staff was not very accommodating. I showed up a little early and most places will let you in, especially being a diamond member and he said they were way too busy and didn't have any rooms when there were four cars in the whole parking lot. And trust me I know cuz I sat in the parking lot for hours waiting till it was time to check in. This place needs a major facelift and redone. There's a crack around the AC where you can see the light coming through also the whole rooms floor slanted it started up by the front quarter by the bathroom and it slanted all the way down into the far other corner by the AC in it and not just a little set but a very noticeable room tilt slant
For those navigating the "Hotels Near Of Me" landscape in Ramsey, New Jersey, Best Western The Inn at Ramsey presents itself as a readily accessible option. Located at 1315 NJ-17, Ramsey, NJ 07446, USA, and reachable via phone at (201) 327-6700 or mobile at +1 201-327-6700, this hotel aims to cater to a variety of travelers seeking lodging in the area. Being part of the Best Western brand, it typically offers a set of standard amenities and services that guests have come to expect from a well-established chain.
The "Hotels Near Of Me" category is highly relevant for Best Western The Inn at Ramsey. This categorization implies that the hotel is positioned to serve individuals and groups who are actively searching for accommodation options in their immediate geographical vicinity. Whether it's for a spontaneous overnight stay, a planned business trip, or a leisure visit to the region, the hotel's presence in this search category makes it a primary consideration for local users. Its location on a major highway, NJ-17, further enhances its visibility and accessibility for travelers passing through or specifically targeting Ramsey.
The overall environment and ambiance of Best Western The Inn at Ramsey, based on customer feedback, appear to be mixed. While one guest reported a "very clean" room that "smelled good" with "immaculate sheets" and no "mildewy smells or reek of pot/tobacco," another experience painted a picture of significant disrepair and cleanliness issues. This guest described "stains on both beds," "dirty spots on the wall," and a "dirty bathroom." Such discrepancies suggest a variability in room conditions or potentially a need for consistent maintenance across the property. The negative review also highlighted a "crack around the AC where you can see the light coming through" and a "very noticeable room tilt slant" in the floor, indicating structural or foundational issues that could significantly impact guest comfort and perception of the environment.
These contrasting accounts suggest that while some rooms may meet cleanliness and comfort expectations, others might fall short. A hotel's overall ambiance is heavily influenced by its physical condition, and descriptions of a "major facelift and redone" being needed point to an outdated aesthetic or structural deficiencies that could detract from the guest experience. The exterior environment, given its location directly on a highway, would likely be functional for transit but perhaps less picturesque. The parking lot, as observed by a guest, might not always be bustling, which could imply a quieter stay for some, but also potentially a reflection of occupancy levels.
Best Western hotels typically offer a standard array of services and amenities designed to provide a comfortable stay. Common offerings include complimentary breakfast (though not explicitly mentioned in these reviews, it's a frequent Best Western feature), free Wi-Fi, and a business center. Many Best Westerns also feature fitness centers and sometimes indoor pools, which cater to both leisure and business travelers.
Regarding staff service, there is also a divergence in experiences. One guest expressed being "very pleased" and found the staff to be "so kind" when requesting a late checkout, which was "much appreciated" especially with a newborn. This indicates a compassionate and accommodating attitude from some team members. However, another guest had a negative interaction, describing the staff as "not very accommodating" when attempting an early check-in, despite being a "diamond member" and observing a nearly empty parking lot. The reason given for denial was being "way too busy" and not having "any rooms," which contradicted the guest's observation. This inconsistency in front desk service suggests that guest experience can vary significantly depending on the individual staff member or the specific circumstances of the request.
While not directly reviewed here, Best Western properties typically provide basic in-room amenities such as a flat-screen TV, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer. The provision of fresh linen and towels is a given expectation for any hotel, though one review specifically highlighted "immaculate sheets," suggesting this was a noteworthy positive experience for them.
The location of Best Western The Inn at Ramsey on NJ-17 is a key feature, offering convenient access for travelers on this major thoroughfare. This makes it a practical choice for those driving through the area, visiting businesses nearby, or exploring attractions in northern New Jersey. Its inclusion in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category reinforces its accessibility and immediate relevance for local searches.
As a Best Western property, it benefits from the brand's loyalty program, Best Western Rewards. The mention of being a "diamond member" by a guest highlights the value of this program, which typically offers perks like expedited check-in, late check-out, and bonus points, though the experience with early check-in was disappointing in this particular instance. For frequent travelers, affiliation with a reputable brand can be a significant decision factor.
The ability to secure a late checkout, as experienced by one guest, is a valuable feature for travelers, especially those with specific needs like caring for an infant. This flexibility can greatly enhance comfort and reduce stress during a stay.
However, the described physical condition of some rooms, including bed stains, dirty walls, dirty bathrooms, cracks around the AC, and a noticeably slanted floor, indicates significant features that could be considered detrimental to the guest experience. These issues point to a need for substantial renovation and consistent quality control to ensure all rooms meet basic standards of cleanliness and structural integrity.
Best Western The Inn at Ramsey would likely promote itself as a convenient and affordable option for travelers in the Ramsey area, leveraging its location on a major highway. Promotional efforts would typically focus on its brand recognition, the value offered through its amenities (such as complimentary breakfast, if provided), and the Best Western Rewards program. It would aim to attract both leisure travelers exploring northern New Jersey and business travelers needing accommodation for work-related stays.
The hotel's phone numbers, (201) 327-6700 and +1 201-327-6700, provide direct contact for reservations and inquiries, allowing potential guests to confirm specific amenities, room availability, and any ongoing promotions. Online travel agencies and the Best Western official website would also be key channels for booking and information dissemination.
Given the mixed reviews, future promotional efforts might need to address guest concerns directly or highlight recent renovations if they occur. The positive feedback regarding accommodating staff and clean rooms in some instances could be emphasized to attract guests seeking a reliable and comfortable stay. For example, promoting specific room types that have been recently updated, or highlighting specific staff members for excellent service, could be beneficial. The hotel might also consider targeting travelers who value convenient highway access above all else, as this is a strong inherent feature of its location.
In conclusion, Best Western The Inn at Ramsey, while a part of a globally recognized brand and strategically located for "Hotels Near Of Me" searches in Ramsey, presents a varied guest experience. While some guests report positive interactions with staff and clean rooms, others highlight significant concerns regarding cleanliness, room condition, and staff accommodation. Potential guests should consider these diverse experiences when making their booking decision.

May 18, 2025 · Sagan BrownsonMy husband and I stayed here and was very pleased. My room was very clean, smelled good, my sheets were immaculate, no mildewy smells or reek of pot/tobacco. I called for a late check out at almost 11:30 and they were so kind about it and I am so grateful bc I have a newborn and was up pretty late with her teething so the extra hour of sleep was much appreciated. Will totally stay here again! Mrs Sanchez
Mar 18, 2025 · Jojo MarcChanged #1 room because it was next to a corridor door that wn opened and closed made a "banging" noise. #2 had a none working phone and a shower drain that drained so slowly that we were standing in ankle deep water. (Had notified front desk a couple of times). We were there for 4 nites so it was frustrating. The room was kept clean tho by efficient cleaning help.
May 13, 2025 · Linda DiazVery good Best Western, we hit this place on the road to Myrtle Beach and this place is very clean, staff is amazing. The room withings the jacuzzi is perfect to relax after tons of road hours. Quality price is very hard to beat !:) we will be back for sure :)
Mar 22, 2025 · Jean ValleeWish I could give this place zero stars. I had gotten 3 rooms for my whole family and each room had a list of issues including slanted flooring where you can fall. Ceiling sinking in. Toilets flooding and not flushing. NO HOT WATER No water pressure breakfast was gross coffee tasted like paint thinner. Missing piece on my shower head. Mold in my shower and ceiling. There’s a loud night club attached to the hotel that shakes the whole building. No clean linens available. Waited 3 days for a new blanket. They pound on your door at 7:30 asking if you want your room cleaned. Racial slurs drawn onto the picture in our room. Very offensive.
