My wife and I stayed in a tiny cabin from May 15 to May 18. We loved it. The location was convenient for us to explore Helen and Clayton. The restaurant was amazing! We ate there two out of three nights. Highly recommended.

Bleu Canoe Tiny Cabins Introduce

For those seeking a distinctive and charming accommodation experience within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in the North Georgia mountains, Bleu Canoe Tiny Cabins offers a delightful alternative to traditional hotels. Located at 115 Sweetwater Circle, Clarkesville, GA 30523, USA, this property provides a unique blend of cozy, compact living with the convenience of an onsite, highly-praised restaurant, all set amidst the serene natural beauty of the region. Guests can reach them at (706) 947-1833 or +1 706-947-1833.

The environment surrounding Bleu Canoe Tiny Cabins is a key aspect of its appeal. Nestled on a 23-acre property in the Northeast Georgia mountains, it offers a tranquil and peaceful setting, far enough from town lights to provide "clear dark skies" for amazing stargazing. The property features private, wooded lots for each cabin and tiny home, ensuring a sense of seclusion and privacy. Guests can enjoy communal fire pits, trails, and yard games such as bocce, corn hole, and badminton, fostering a relaxed and engaging atmosphere. The location is strategically central, making it a convenient base camp for exploring popular nearby towns like Helen (a Bavarian-themed village) and Clayton, as well as accessing stunning natural attractions such as Lake Burton, Lake Rabun, Seed Lake, and various waterfalls and hiking trails, including those at Tallulah Gorge State Park and Moccasin Creek State Park. This blend of natural tranquility and accessibility to activities makes it an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts and those looking to unwind.

The services and features at Bleu Canoe Tiny Cabins are designed to offer a comfortable and unique "glamping" experience. The property offers two main types of accommodation: historic fish camp cabins and modern tiny home RVs.

  • Historic Fish Camp Cabins: These cabins, dating back to the 1930s, offer a rustic charm. They typically feature 1-2 bedrooms with queen beds, a kitchenette (including a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker), a living area, and a bathroom with a stand-up shower. Some even come with a screened porch. It's important to note that these historic cabins do not offer air conditioning or central heat, relying on radiant space heaters for warmth. They are designed to provide an "authentic fish camp experience," sometimes without in-cabin Wi-Fi, though Wi-Fi is available in designated common areas near the restaurant for guests who need to connect.

  • Tiny Home RVs: These are more modern and typically studio-style with sleeping lofts or separate bedrooms. They include a kitchenette (with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and select homes may have hot plates), a full bath, and generally offer air conditioning and heat within the unit. Like the cabins, they come with high-end mattresses and pillows, toiletries, and linens.

Regardless of the cabin type, each unit is set on its own site and includes a picnic table, a charcoal camp grill, and a fire pit, encouraging outdoor living and dining. A complimentary light continental breakfast (such as breakfast bars, cereal, oatmeal, oranges, orange juice, and milk) and coffee/tea are typically stocked in the suite upon arrival, providing a convenient start to the day. The property offers free self-parking on premises.

One of the most highly praised features of Bleu Canoe Tiny Cabins is its onsite restaurant. Described by guests as "amazing" and "a must visit," the Bleu Canoe Restaurant offers a laid-back vibe with a focus on delicious Cajun and Creole fare. Run by the husband-and-wife team Jim and Lee White (former owners of Harry Bissett's in Athens), the restaurant aims to make each guest "feel like family." The menu features authentic dishes like blackened fish, étouffée, oysters (Bienville, Rockefeller), gumbo, po-boys, burgers, and a selection of salads and desserts. It boasts an extensive selection of beers, wines, and liquors. Guests can dine inside by the fire in winter or enjoy the large open deck in summer. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Thursday from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and Friday to Sunday from 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Its presence greatly enhances the convenience and overall experience for guests, providing a top-tier dining option just steps away from their cabin.

Promotional information and real customer reviews consistently highlight the unique appeal of Bleu Canoe Tiny Cabins. Guests rave about the "amazingly tranquil and cozy cabin to stay in while exploring the area." The convenience of the location for exploring Helen and Clayton is a frequent positive, as is the proximity to "gorgeous waterfalls." The emphasis on disconnecting is evident in the design, with one reviewer noting that "most guests are surprised to find how happy they are not to have to worry about checking their phone 24/7!"

The property is also pet-friendly, allowing guests to bring their dogs (typically one pet up to 20 lbs per reservation, with a pet cleaning fee), making it an ideal choice for pet owners searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" that accommodate their furry companions.

Beyond the cabins and restaurant, the surrounding area provides an abundance of activities. Guests can indulge in hiking, fishing, biking, boating, and exploring local wineries. Specific attractions include:

  • Waterfalls: Hemlock Falls, Angel Falls, Minihaha Falls, Raven Cliff Falls, Dukes Creek Falls, High Shoal Falls.

  • State Parks: Unicoi State Park (with zipline and archery), Smithgall Woods State Park (extensive trails), Tallulah Gorge State Park (hiking and spectacular views), Moccasin Creek State Park (fishing, hiking).

  • Lakes: Lake Burton, Seed Lake, Lake Rabun, offering opportunities for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and motorboating.

  • Wineries: Tiger Mountain Vineyards, Stonewall Creek Vineyards, Terra Incognita Vineyard, Creekstone Winery, Habersham Winery.

  • Towns: Helen (Bavarian theme, tubing, mini golf), Clayton (boutique shops, art galleries, breweries), Clarkesville (local charm).

  • Unique Local Spots: A historic cemetery next door for those interested in local history, and Nora Mill Granary for a glimpse into local heritage.

It provides a peaceful, natural environment combined with comfortable, well-appointed tiny cabins and the significant bonus of an exceptional onsite Cajun restaurant. Its strategic location makes it an excellent base for exploring the diverse attractions of North Georgia. Amazingly tranquil and cozy cabin to stay in while exploring the area. Close to some gorgeous waterfalls and places like Helen, Anna Ruby Falls and Dillard. The restaurant is a must visit while there. The stars were amazing thanks to the location being far enough from the towns to have clear dark skies, be sure to have a good flashlight. Will definitely be back. If you’re interested in local history, there is a historic cemetery next door.

Had a wonderful stay in Rhododendron! It was perfect for our small children and us! (Our furry pup too!) it was fun to walk around and plenty of things for us to do!” We added a few fun things for our kids, like the s’mores and birthday package, just the little extras that mean a lot! We will def stay again! Thanks to everyone there for a great experience!

Stayed 2 nights in Sycamore for Valentine’s Day with my husband and golden retriever. Nice accommodations! Campfire both nights and walked to the field to look at stars. Had Vday dinner at the restaurant. Delicious! Reasonable drive to Helen/Unicoi, downtown Clarkesville, and Tallulah Gorge. Wonderful weekend. Would highly recommend!

Stayed in the Dogwood tiny house for two nights. I liked the spacious interior design, which was surprising for a tiny house. The cabin was clean and cozy, and it had all the essentials you might need. The bed was comfortable, and there was a grill and fire pit outside. It was easy to access the lake and surrounding towns, including Helen, GA. The only downside was that some of the breakfast items provided were expired, and no dish washing sponge was in the kitchen.
