The manager Scott harassed me continuously while I was there. I wanted a refund 2 hours after I paid for a month along with my security deposit but there is a no refund policy. Right before my month was finished I cleaned up so good with good cleaner I cleaned his bathroom entirely including the floor and every single thing in the room just so I could get my security deposit back. Then he told me it smelled like chemicals in there so he wasn't going to give me my security deposit. When I moved in it smelled like bleach so bad and told him about it and he agreed they were clean freaks. And when my cleaning chemicals were there he complained about it. The guy is a complete control freak and he changes the rules day by day. I will never rent from him again nor will I recommend it to anyone at all.

Blue Dolphin Motel Introduce

The Blue Dolphin Motel, categorized under "Hotels Near Of Me" with a specific focus on extended stay options, is located at 3460 W 26th St, Erie, PA 16506, USA. For inquiries regarding availability and rates, the motel can be reached at (814) 833-0941 or via mobile at +1 814-833-0941.

Environment and Location:

The Blue Dolphin Motel is situated on West 26th Street in Erie, Pennsylvania. This area is a significant commercial artery in Erie, featuring a mix of businesses, residential properties, and other accommodations. Its location on a main road suggests easy access for those traveling by car. While specific proximity to major attractions like Presque Isle State Park or downtown Erie is not provided, being on a major street generally implies convenient driving distances to various points of interest within the city. Erie itself is a city known for its lakeside location on Lake Erie, offering recreational opportunities and a local economy supported by manufacturing, healthcare, and tourism. As an extended stay motel, its environment caters to those needing longer-term accommodation, often implying less of a focus on immediate tourist attractions and more on basic necessities and accessibility to local services for daily living.

Services and Amenities:

As an extended stay motel, the Blue Dolphin Motel likely offers fundamental amenities designed for longer durations, typically including:

  • Basic Room Setup:
Rooms are generally furnished with essential items for living, such as a bed, basic furniture, and a private bathroom.
  • Kitchenette Facilities (Potential):
While not explicitly detailed in the provided information, extended stay motels often feature kitchenettes or at least a refrigerator and microwave in rooms to allow guests to prepare their own meals, reducing dining costs over longer stays. This is a common expectation for properties under the extended stay model.
  • Housekeeping Services:
For extended stays, housekeeping services are typically provided on a less frequent schedule than daily hotel cleanings, often weekly or bi-weekly, to maintain guest privacy and reduce operational costs.
  • Utilities:
Generally, utilities (electricity, water, heat/AC, and basic cable TV) are included in the weekly or monthly rates, simplifying billing for long-term guests.
  • Parking:
On-site parking is usually available for guests, given that many extended stay guests travel by car.

It is important for prospective guests to confirm the exact amenities offered, especially regarding in-room kitchen facilities and the frequency of housekeeping, as these can significantly impact a long-term stay.

Features:

The primary feature of the Blue Dolphin Motel, as implied by its classification as an extended stay hotel, is its suitability for longer-term accommodation needs. This caters to individuals or families requiring temporary housing for reasons such as work assignments, relocation, medical treatments, or other situations that necessitate stays of a week, a month, or longer. The pricing structure is typically designed to be more economical than daily hotel rates for extended durations. While concrete details on specific unique features are not available, extended stay properties often emphasize practicality and self-sufficiency. The ability to book for a month, as indicated in customer reviews, is a clear feature of its extended stay model.

Promotional Information and Guest Experience:

As a motel falling under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Blue Dolphin Motel likely aims to attract guests seeking affordable and convenient lodging for more than just a night or two. Information on specific promotional offers is not readily available, but extended stay properties inherently offer a cost-effective alternative to traditional hotels for longer visits. The core "promotion" is the value provided for extended periods, appealing to budget-conscious travelers or those with temporary living needs in Erie.

However, an objective introduction necessitates a detailed account of the guest experiences, particularly as reflected in the provided customer reviews. The feedback from real customers for the Blue Dolphin Motel raises significant concerns that prospective guests should be aware of:

  • Cleanliness and Condition:
Reviews consistently highlight issues with cleanliness. One guest stated, "Room was dirty and the toilet wasn't clean." Another reported, "There was either sand or drywall dust all over the floor. I saw at least ten tiny black spiders in the room." These comments suggest a lack of thorough cleaning and maintenance, which is a critical aspect for any accommodation, particularly for extended stays where guests will be living in the space for a prolonged period.
  • Management and Policies:
A prominent complaint revolves around management practices. One guest described the manager, Scott, as having "harassed me continuously while I was there" and being "a complete control freak and he changes the rules day by day." This indicates potential challenges with consistent policy application and guest relations. The "no refund policy" mentioned by a customer, even a short time after payment, is a significant detail that prospective guests should explicitly confirm before booking.
  • Security Deposit Issues:
A specific and concerning issue raised is difficulty in retrieving security deposits. A guest detailed rigorous cleaning efforts "just so I could get my security deposit back," only to be denied due to the room allegedly smelling like "chemicals," despite the guest claiming the room smelled of bleach upon move-in. This suggests a potential point of contention and dissatisfaction regarding the return of security deposits.
  • Privacy Concerns:
One review explicitly stated, "No privacy at all," which could refer to various issues, from thin walls to perceived intrusions by staff or management. This is a crucial consideration for extended stay guests who seek a sense of home and personal space.
  • Overall Recommendation:
The overwhelming sentiment from the provided reviews is negative, with guests explicitly stating, "I will never rent from him again nor will I recommend it to anyone at all" and "I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone." This strongly suggests a pattern of dissatisfaction among guests.

In summary, while the Blue Dolphin Motel positions itself as an extended stay option in Erie, PA, offering the potential for more affordable long-term lodging under the "Hotels Near Of Me" umbrella, prospective guests should proceed with caution. The reported issues regarding cleanliness, management practices, refund policies, security deposit returns, and privacy are significant concerns that could impact the comfort and satisfaction of an extended stay. It is highly advisable for interested individuals to contact the motel directly, clarify all policies, and perhaps even inspect a room before committing to a long-term booking.

Terrible. Room was dirty and the toilet wasn't clean. No privacy at all. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There was either sand or drywall dust all over the floor. I saw at least ten tiny black spiders in the room. Nothing good to say about this place.

I was here for 9 months and the manager and I got along so when I moved out I assumed he would put my deposit back on after all I had it cleaner than when I moved in. I owed him 10 bucks but where is my 30 I only left behind a hamper with clothes car broke down and couldn't get back to it. Someone said if I called better business bureau I would get it and I do work with a company that deals with better business bureau but don't want to if I don't have to cuz we did get along just surprised he wouldn't return 30 bucks

Owner comes in and out of your room as he pleases without notice or warning. Never cleans the restroom except to pour straight bleach onto the floor and leave it to cause intoxicating chlorine gas. HORRIBLE!!!!

I currently stayed here paid cash on a weekly basis and the manager never gave me any receipts. And ask for a credit card for a 40$ deposit. I told manager a day before I was to move out. I got an alert on my credit card that a purchase was made of 189$ I then inquired to manager about it and I told him I did not approve .I do not recommend this place to anyone
