I stated this hotel for a week. I never saw a single cleaning person in the hotel my entire stay. I noticed after a day or two of me being there I was sneezing quite a bit and my eyes were beginning to irritate me. I remove the filters from the Heating air conditioning unit in the room to find they were covered in black. I had to clean them off in the shower would’ve figured that would’ve been something A cleaning person would’ve done as it would’ve been part of their job. When I left the hotel, I had an eye infection in each one of my eyes. My doctor told me it was more than likely from dirty pillows at the hotel. When I checked out, the individual behind the counter was unable to provide me with a receipt that showed how much I actually spent for the room which concerned me because I was there on business and needed a receipt for expenses. I paid $1294 to stay there. My receipt indicated that I Was only charged $758. The manager who was reached out to by the person at the counter, spoke to me via FaceTime, trying to explain to me the charges the whole time she was doing this she had a cigarette in her hand sitting at home, trying to tell me that The difference in price would be credited to my card. I waited about a month to write this review, I never got any credit. I had to contact a separate booking agency to get my actual receipt. This hotel is not a good hotel. The free breakfast in the morning was breakfast sandwiches in a bag in a steamer. I can’t say how horrible the morning breakfast was. I will never stay there again.

The environment at SpringHill Suites Erie is designed to offer a blend of functionality and comfort. As an all-suite hotel, every room provides separate living and sleeping areas, which can be a significant advantage for families or guests requiring extra space to work or relax. Each suite typically includes a wet bar with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, allowing guests to store and prepare light meals or snacks. These facilities contribute to the overall atmosphere of a contemporary and accommodating lodging experience, consistent with what users might expect when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" that prioritize guest comfort and amenities.
In terms of services, SpringHill Suites Erie offers a range of standard hotel provisions. A key feature is the complimentary breakfast, which is often a significant draw for guests. While one review describes the breakfast as "breakfast sandwiches in a bag in a steamer" and "horrible," another positive review praises it as "hot and great." This disparity suggests a potential inconsistency in the breakfast offering, but generally, SpringHill Suites aims to provide a substantial morning meal. The hotel also boasts a 24-hour front desk, a business center, and complimentary wired and wireless internet access throughout the property, catering to both leisure and business needs. Services like express check-out, luggage storage, and dry cleaning/laundry services are typically available to enhance guest convenience. The presence of a 24-hour business center and flexible onsite meeting space also indicates a focus on supporting business travelers.
The features of SpringHill Suites Erie include its all-suite layout, which provides separate living and sleeping areas, as well as amenities like plush Marriott bedding, flat-screen TVs with streaming services like Netflix, and convenient work desks. Many rooms include a private bathroom with complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. The hotel offers an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment, and an electric car charging station. For those traveling with vehicles, free self-parking is available. The location is also highlighted as a strong feature, being situated off I-79 and Interchange Road, providing easy access to local attractions such as Millcreek Mall (across the street), Splash Lagoon, Erie Zoo, Presque Isle State Park, Waldameer Park, and various dining options. The hotel is also conveniently located near major universities like Gannon University, Penn State Behrend, and Edinboro University, making it a suitable choice for visitors to these institutions.
However, an objective introduction must also address areas where the hotel might fall short, as highlighted by customer feedback. One detailed negative review points to significant issues with cleanliness and service. The guest reported never seeing a cleaning person during a week-long stay and discovered heating/air conditioning unit filters "covered in black," leading to sneezing and eye irritation. This culminated in the guest developing an eye infection, attributed by their doctor to dirty pillows. Such hygiene concerns are critical for any hotel and suggest a serious lapse in regular maintenance and cleaning protocols. Furthermore, the review describes a problematic check-out experience where the front desk was unable to provide an accurate receipt for a business expense, and a manager attempting to resolve the issue via FaceTime with a cigarette in hand, promising a credit that was never received. This indicates potential issues with billing accuracy, customer service professionalism, and follow-through. The guest ultimately had to contact a separate booking agency to obtain their correct receipt, which is a major inconvenience for a business traveler.
In contrast, another guest had a very positive experience, describing the hotel as "nice" and the staff as "very friendly," with the free breakfast being "hot and great." This stark difference in reviews suggests that guest experiences can vary significantly. While some guests find the environment and services to be excellent, others encounter substantial issues that detract from their stay. The hotel has received awards in the past, such as the Marriott Silver Circle award and the SpringHill Suites eSSSence award, which recognize properties for guest satisfaction and commitment to brand standards. This further indicates that the hotel is capable of delivering a high-quality experience, but consistency might be a challenge.
Regarding promotional information, SpringHill Suites by Marriott Erie, like other Marriott properties, participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, offering points and benefits for members. Guests can often find special offers by booking directly through Marriott's website, which may include prepaid rates, AAA discounts, or seasonal promotions. The hotel’s room rates are typically competitive, with standard room rates ranging from $119-$129, though prices can fluctuate based on demand and seasonality. Mar 10, 2025 · Casey KeilThis was a last minute choice for us but we couldn't have been happier. The hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was hot and great too.
Mar 28, 2025 · Jeff GuldenschuhBeautiful hotel! Family friendly. Great breakfast options. Blueberry compote in already prepared oatmeal was my favorite! The blueberries are like little bobas in syrup! They also have a different coffee flavor each morning, which was fun. Rooms were spacious and well thought out. Had a living room area with an additional tv. Very cool!
Mar 02, 2025 · Jane W/ EFU LogisticsI was excited to stay at Springhill Suites, but my experience was disappointing. The room was dirty when I checked in—there was dust caked on the furniture and even some stray hairs on the sheets. It didn’t feel like it had been properly cleaned before my arrival. The price was reasonable, but I expected better housekeeping. I wouldn’t recommend it unless they step up their cleaning standards
Mar 01, 2025 · Roman DanilinVery nice hotel with good breakfast options and coffee bar. The rooms are clean and spacious! We had a lovely stay and will be back if we're ever in this area again!
