Great little "satellite" property for the Inn at Jim Thorpe! Very nice if small-to-midland sized room, but there was a lovely sitting room/common area, and a neat outdoor deck. No food service of any kind at 44 Broadway, but there is a shared refrigerator.

Broadway House Introduce

For those navigating the "Hotels Near Of Me" search in the picturesque and historically rich town of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, Broadway House presents a distinctive accommodation option. While not a standalone hotel in the conventional sense, it operates as a "satellite property" for the well-known Inn at Jim Thorpe. Located at 44 W Broadway, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229, Broadway House offers a unique experience for travelers seeking a charming, quieter stay with access to the vibrant downtown area. Guests interested in booking or inquiring about Broadway House can use the contact numbers (570) 732-0055 and +1 570-732-0055.

Environment and Location

Broadway House is situated on West Broadway, which places it within the historic core of Jim Thorpe. Unlike being directly amidst the busiest section of shops and restaurants, its location offers a slightly more residential feel while still maintaining excellent walkability to the town's main attractions. Guests can comfortably stroll to the array of boutiques, galleries, cafes, bars, and museums that define Jim Thorpe's charm. The famous Jim Thorpe train station and the Lehigh Gorge Trail are also within a good walking distance, making it convenient for those planning outdoor activities or scenic train rides.

As a "satellite property" of The Inn at Jim Thorpe, Broadway House provides a more intimate and potentially quieter environment compared to the main Inn. One guest described it as a "great little 'satellite' property," suggesting a more secluded and private atmosphere. The property itself appears to be a historic building, with rooms located within the main house and an attached "white brick building." This architectural setup contributes to its unique character, though it's important for guests to understand that the layout and room configurations might differ from a newly built, standardized hotel. The environment caters to those who appreciate historic charm and a quieter residential setting while still being able to immerse themselves in Jim Thorpe's bustling downtown life.

Services and Amenities

Broadway House operates differently from a full-service hotel, a key point for those searching on "Hotels Near Of Me." It does not offer "food service of any kind" directly at 44 Broadway. This means guests should plan to explore the town's numerous dining options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which, given Jim Thorpe's vibrant culinary scene, is often a positive aspect for many visitors. However, for convenience, there is a "shared refrigerator" available, which is useful for storing drinks or small snacks. Guests also noted a "room with several chairs and tables for eating," suggesting a communal space where guests can enjoy takeout or their own light meals.

Despite the lack of direct food service, Broadway House provides comforting amenities. Rooms are described as "nice if small-to-midland sized." While one guest had higher expectations for a "suite" at $250 per night, noting a "small" room and bathroom, and an "inexpensive electric fireplace" that "did not add to the ambiance," it's clear that individual room expectations can vary. The presence of a "whirlpool tub" in a suite, while "dominating the space," can be a desired feature for some guests. Essential in-room amenities like a fridge and microwave are available, albeit potentially in a "corner" that might feel "out of place" to some. The staff and people associated with the property are consistently described as "friendly," indicating a welcoming atmosphere and good service at a personal level. Check-in procedures would typically be handled through The Inn at Jim Thorpe, given its satellite nature.

Features and Unique Selling Points

Broadway House's unique selling points lie in its charming common areas and its affiliation with The Inn at Jim Thorpe. Guests praised the "lovely sitting room/common area" on the second floor, which provides a comfortable space for relaxation or socializing. Additionally, a "neat outdoor deck" or "outside deck/courtyard space" offers a pleasant area to enjoy the fresh air, particularly appealing during warmer months. These shared spaces compensate for potentially smaller individual room sizes, providing areas for guests to unwind outside of their private quarters.

The hotel's connection to The Inn at Jim Thorpe implies access to its amenities and support, even if Broadway House itself is a "good walking distance away." This affiliation suggests a level of quality and professionalism that comes with a more established hotel brand. However, it's important for guests to note that there are "no pictures" of the rooms readily available, which can lead to unmet expectations, as experienced by one reviewer. The "free parking" is a valuable feature in Jim Thorpe, though it is "limited" to "about 10 spaces in the garage," and finding alternative parking can be challenging. This limited parking could be a significant consideration for guests traveling by car.

The historical character of the building itself, combined with the efforts to maintain a clean environment, are also strong features. The "clean" rooms and friendly staff contribute to a positive overall impression, despite some reservations about room size or layout in certain suites.

Promotional Information and Value Proposition

For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Jim Thorpe, Broadway House offers a distinct value proposition. Its primary draw is its charm, intimate atmosphere, and proximity to downtown Jim Thorpe's attractions, without being in the absolute center of the hustle and bustle. The affiliation with The Inn at Jim Thorpe provides a sense of reliability and a known standard of service. While there are no specific promotional details provided, its value lies in:

  • Quiet Charm: Appealing to guests who prefer a more tranquil and intimate setting than a larger hotel.
  • Historic Ambiance: Attracting those who appreciate the character of older buildings and a sense of Jim Thorpe's past.
  • Walkability: Emphasizing effortless access to all town attractions on foot.
  • Common Spaces: Highlighting the value of the sitting room and outdoor deck as areas for relaxation.

Guests should be aware that it functions as a satellite property, meaning services like food might be handled at the main Inn or require exploring local restaurants. The caution regarding suite expectations and parking limitations is important for managing guest experiences. For bookings, contacting (570) 732-0055 or +1 570-732-0055 will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information on room types, pricing (including the note about not being able to do a one-night reservation, which could be a policy of The Inn at Jim Thorpe for this annex), and availability. Broadway House serves as a fitting choice for those who prioritize a unique, character-filled stay and are comfortable with a more self-sufficient approach to their accommodations in Jim Thorpe.

I guess I had higher expectations for 44 Broadway. It was clean, the people and staff were friendly and the town was interesting to explore but the room was not what I had expected. It is a part of the Inn at Jim Thorpe but is a good walking distance away. The room was a suite but not what I expected a suite to be. The room and bathroom were on the small side and the inexpensive electric fireplace did not add to the ambiance of the room. The whirlpool tub dominated the space and the fridge and microwave were out of place in the corner. I am not a lofty individual but I have stayed at different places all over the US and this was well below what I expected for $250 per night. You can not do a one night reservation and I had to take time off work and drive in horrible conditions to be able to arrive Friday night. I do not recommend booking a suite. There are no pictures to let you know what to expect so I will post pictures of my room. There is a nice sitting area on the second floor and a room with several chairs and tables for eating. There is no place to prepare any food but there is a nice outside deck/courtyard space. There is limited space in the actual house and the room I stayed in was in the white brick building attached to the house. There is free parking but only about 10 spaces in the garage. If you can't park in the garage then good luck in finding a space. None of the parking locations listed for the inn hold more than 15-20 cars.

Got some drinks at the pub area. They were really well made.My wife loved her whiskey sour! It's a not a craft beer bar but it has a solid selection of hard alcohols and few good beers on tap. The bartenders were really nice as well. Best part is two whiskey sours and two makers on the rocks were under 25 dollars. Can't beat that. Only downside is it can get slammed right before shows at the Opera house.

Very comfortable and spacious rooms. The room we had was a suite with a king size bed and jacuzzi. Everything is very clean as well. Pricing was very good for what it included
