Great balcony, comfortable bed, big TV, terrific shower. Only 2 very minor quirks. A corner tub in the room with the bed when that space would be better used for any kind of dresser or table or even a chair. There's place to put your suitcase, no where to put your things. The second quirk is that there's a coffee maker on top of the microwave that sits on the mini fridge. It is not plugged in and the other appliances where already plugged in to the 2 outlets (and not easily accessible anyway unless I wanted to move a fridge & microwave to get to the plug) so I brought the coffee maker (which was full of water for some reason, spilling it on myself in the process) across the room, to the shelf below the tv that had the Kcups, creamer & paper cups (thinking it had been moved by mistake) but there's no plug there either unless I unplug the air-conditioning/heating unit & I'm pretty sure that's the wrong kinda plug anyway and I didn't want to chance it. I then tried to balance it on the nightstand but since it has the only lamp in the room, there's no room to put it there without loosing the light! So now I'm in the bathroom with the coffee maker balanced katty-cornered on the small sink to JUST get a stinking cup of coffee 馃ぃafter all that there was only 4 small creamers (but like 8 Kcups??) but I did get a cup of coffee which I drank on the balcony staring at the beautiful mountain ridge.
For individuals searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform for accommodation in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, Mountain View Suites presents a distinctive option. Located at 626 Center St, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229, USA, this establishment offers a stay with a focus on specific in-room features and a picturesque setting. The hotel can be contacted directly via phone at (570) 249-7022 or mobile phone at +1 570-249-7022. This detailed introduction will objectively explore the hotel's environment, services, features, and any relevant promotional information, drawing insights from both guest feedback and the specific details provided.
The environment of Mountain View Suites, as its name suggests, is characterized by its natural surroundings and the potential for scenic views. A key highlight from a guest review is the "beautiful mountain ridge" visible from the balcony, indicating that the natural environment is a significant draw. The hotel's location on Center Street in Jim Thorpe places it within a historic and charming town, known for its Victorian architecture and proximity to outdoor activities. However, the external environment also presents a unique challenge, as highlighted by a local neighbor's review. The neighbor explicitly points out that parking on the quiet street in front of their homes becomes problematic due to hotel guests utilizing these spaces instead of the "parking in the rear of the building reserved for the business." This indicates a potential conflict between hotel operations and the local residential environment, suggesting that guests need to be mindful of designated parking areas to ensure a smoother experience for both themselves and the community. Internally, the rooms offer features that contribute to a comfortable environment, such as a "comfortable bed," "big TV," and "terrific shower." However, the design of the room's interior space, particularly the placement of a "corner tub in the room with the bed" and a lack of dedicated "place to put your suitcase, no where to put your things," suggests some quirks in the layout that might affect the practicality and organization of the living space for guests.
In terms of services, Mountain View Suites, based on the provided information, appears to offer essential in-room amenities rather than extensive on-site services typical of larger hotels. The primary service appears to be providing a comfortable and well-equipped room for rest and relaxation. While no explicit mention of front desk hours, concierge services, or daily housekeeping beyond what is implied by a standard hotel stay is provided, the focus seems to be on the in-room experience. The coffee-making setup, though quirky in its placement and functionality as described by a guest, is an attempt to provide a self-service beverage option. This implies that guests largely manage their own immediate needs within the suite. The presence of a "balcony" can be considered a service, offering private outdoor space for guests. The communication of parking instructions, as suggested by the neighbor's review, indicates a need for the hotel to better communicate its services regarding parking to guests to avoid local inconvenience. This highlights a service gap in guiding guests about proper parking procedures. The lack of traditional services like a full breakfast or a dedicated common area for guests means that Mountain View Suites positions itself more as a private suite rental than a full-service hotel, emphasizing independent living within the room.
The features of Mountain View Suites are quite specific and contribute to a unique stay experience. The "great balcony" is a prominent feature, allowing guests to enjoy the "beautiful mountain ridge" views. A "comfortable bed" and a "big TV" are key comfort features within the room, catering to relaxation and entertainment. The "terrific shower" also indicates a high-quality bathroom amenity. However, some design features present "minor quirks." The presence of a "corner tub in the room with the bed" is a less conventional layout that may not appeal to all guests, especially given the perceived lack of functional space for luggage or personal belongings. The coffee maker setup, with its unusual placement on top of a microwave and mini-fridge, and difficulty accessing power outlets, points to a design flaw that complicates the use of a basic amenity. This suggests that while amenities are provided, their usability might be compromised. The in-room mini-fridge and microwave are standard features for convenience. The implied presence of air-conditioning/heating is also a crucial feature for climate control. While not explicitly stated, properties of this type often include private bathrooms, and the mention of a "terrific shower" confirms a dedicated bathing facility. The overall impression is that the features are geared towards providing a comfortable and private space, though some practical design aspects could be improved.
Regarding promotional information, Mountain View Suites, as an option in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, likely relies on its unique features and location to attract guests. The name "Mountain View Suites" itself serves as a direct promotion, highlighting a primary feature and selling point. The "great balcony" and the promise of "beautiful mountain ridge" views are strong visual and experiential promotions that would appeal to travelers seeking scenic getaways. Its location in Jim Thorpe, a popular tourist destination known for its charming town and outdoor activities, is a significant promotional advantage. The hotel might market itself to couples seeking a romantic escape due to the private balcony and comfortable amenities. Promotions would likely emphasize the comfort of the beds, the quality of the shower, and the privacy of the suites. Given the quirky nature of some amenities, it might also appeal to travelers looking for a unique, less conventional hotel experience. For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Jim Thorpe area, Mountain View Suites would appear as an option for those prioritizing specific in-room comforts and scenic views over extensive on-site services. However, any promotional efforts should also clearly communicate designated parking solutions to avoid inconvenience for guests and local residents, addressing the issue raised by the neighbor's review. Direct booking via phone could be a primary method of engagement for this type of establishment, with information about its unique suite setup being conveyed during the booking process.

Oct 01, 2024 路 Cynthia DemmerDid not stay here! Writing this review as a neighbor to the business.. we live on a quiet street in town with street parking and when people stay here they are parking in front of my home taking my parking space which sometimes makes it frustrating to live here . If you stay here please be mindful of the residents there is parking in the rear of the building reserved for the business not all homes have rear private parking but mountain view suites does and the 2 homes connected to the building do not!! Thanks for reading hopefully this post helps not only myself and my other neighbor but helps for a smoother stay for you!
Oct 17, 2024 路 Christopher McDonoughWe stayed in room 1 for two nights. 1) The room was too small to move around on, the bed was broken, slanted, and uncomfortable. 2) The door lock to back deck did not work...got locked out on deck. 3) deck stairs boards rotted ans split, very unsafe. 3) not handicap accessible. 4) microwave was filthy. 5) furniture on deck broken. 6) there was no one to greet us at the door and had to stand on a hot porch while the man on the phone took what seemed like an eternity to give me my door codes. 7)I was disappointed to not get a hot tub with my room like in the photos. I can guarantee you I will never stay there again. Warning!!! This place is in now way handicap acessible
May 04, 2024 路 Glenn DailIn June of 2022, my husband and i stayed in the second floor room with a king size bed and a Jacuzzi. The building and the room are beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the lovely bed hangings pictured on the site are actually there in the room! There is a cute sitting room, a small dining room, and kitchen on the first floor. The modern keyless doors are pretty cool, though our room door didn't have an actual handle and would therefore only stay closed while locked (not really a big deal). Everything was clean, with plenty of coffee and bathroom supplies. The shower is a little small, but i loved the large shower head. The Jacuzzi was also very nice, though clearly meant for one person. Parking on the street was limited and on a steep hill, parking in the back was a little easier but still hilly. There is a little convenience store nearby for quick needs, and we were able to order food delivered to the house. it's also pretty close to a lot of great places to visit in Jim Thorpe, including the train! Our only real complaint was that the need was way too hard. We barely slept all weekend because of it. Even just a mattress topper would help.
Jul 17, 2022 路 Carrie FreiI do not recommend. You will not be happy if you stay here. The house is connected to other homes. The FIRST thing you see is trash, toys, furniture, just a multitude of things cluttering the connecting neighbors porch and yard, and the first thought is: This place has bedbugs or roaches and it makes you uncomfortable before you walk in the door. We stayed in Suite 4. It's fine. It needs updated. The fabric over the bed needs to go, again, makes you feel like there are bedbugs. I did check the bed, and didn't find any bedbugs, to be clear. The big art on the wall is just framed wrapping paper or fabric. The room needs cleaned and updated. It's not the cleanest room. Also not the dirtiest. I did find a medium-long black hair in the bed, on my sheets. You are supposed to receive a text message with the unlock code the day you stay. I did not receive a code and had to make contact with them to get the code. Would not stay again. This should not be rated 3 1/2 stars on Google.
