DO NOT STAY HERE! My wife and I choose this hotel for our group block for our wedding over this past weekend and it honestly was a nightmare. This was supposed to be the happiest weekend of our lives, but unfortunately was overshadowed by an awful hotel stay for all my guest including ourselves. Where do I even begin. Check in at the hotel was at 4p which is pretty standard. Some of my guest arrived a little early and were told they had to wait until 4p which is fine. At 4p however when it was time to check in they did not have rooms ready. The excuse was due being completely booked for the weekend, housekeeping had not finished cleaning rooms. Needless to say a few of my guest were late too or could not make our rehearsal dinner at 5p because they were still waiting to check in so that they could get ready. As bad as this was this wasn't even the worse thing that happened. The hotel charged my guest $25 a night for secured parking only for multiple of my guests cars to have their windows broken into and vandalized two of the nights. My mom missed my rehearsal walk through because she had to spend two hours at safelite getting her window replaced! The front desk workers had the audacity to have attitudes with us when we asked for refunds for the parking and replacing our window. I honestly don't know if this is something that happens often here or if the hotel is working with the window replacement companies but the whole thing ruined what should of been the perfect weekend. Not only were my guest left traumatized, but no one could even answer if we would get reimbursement or not. I would not recommend staying at this establishment to my worst enemy, just an awful experience!

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For residents of Wisconsin, the Cambria Hotel Milwaukee Downtown presents itself as a modern and conveniently located option for a city getaway, a business trip, or hosting out-of-town guests. Its prime downtown address makes it an ideal spot for a "staycation," allowing you to easily immerse yourself in Milwaukee's vibrant cultural, dining, and entertainment scenes without the need for a long commute. Walking to a Bucks game at Fiserv Forum, exploring the historic Third Ward, or enjoying a show at the Riverside Theater becomes effortless.

However, local users should consider a few critical points. While the hotel offers modern amenities like a pool and fitness center, and some staff members genuinely excel in customer service (like "Andrew" and "Angie" as highlighted in reviews), the recent severe negative feedback regarding parking security and check-in delays cannot be overlooked. For locals, especially if you plan to drive and utilize the hotel's parking, it's crucial to be aware of the reported issues with vehicle vandalism. It would be highly advisable to inquire about current security measures and any changes made in response to such incidents before booking.

If you prioritize a central, modern hotel experience and are comfortable with the noted parking situation (perhaps considering alternative parking if available nearby), the Cambria Hotel Milwaukee Downtown could still be a solid choice. Its location is truly a significant advantage for exploring the city. For those hosting guests, recommending this hotel means they'll be in the heart of the action. Ultimately, for Wisconsinites, it鈥檚 a matter of weighing the appealing downtown access and modern comforts against the recent serious concerns raised by past guests regarding security and initial service delivery. An informed decision will ensure your Milwaukee experience is as positive as possible.

It鈥檚 a solid choice in downtown Milwaukee, walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants. The room was clean and had the necessary amenities. FYI - breakfast is not free and the food is ok. What stood out to me (and why I gave 5 stars) was the staff. I interacted with Angie and Andrew who were both professional and courteous. I was really impressed with Andrew - he took care of the hotel like an owner not a manager. He upgraded my room as a courtesy, remembered my name, and was always keeping busy cleaning the lobby or helping guests. Truly a standout guy 馃憤馃従馃憤馃従

We had a wonderful time in the clean, comfortable room. The staff at the from desk were very helpful and pleasant. There parking area was monitored by security, and it within walking distance of festivals at the Summerfest grounds. We loved the fitness center - very well equipped. Definitely a place to stay at again.

Such a Great Stay for Our Family We just got back from staying at the Cambria Downtown Milwaukee, and I honestly can鈥檛 say enough good things about it. My husband and I stayed with our three young kids, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed. The hotel is super modern and upscale, but not in an intimidating way鈥攅verything felt comfortable, clean, and really thoughtfully designed. The front desk staff was amazing. They were warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Sometimes at nice hotels you can feel a little out of place with young kids, but that was never the case here. The staff treated our children with kindness and patience, which meant so much to us. It鈥檚 something a lot of hotels overlook鈥攌ids are guests too, and how they鈥檙e treated really shapes the overall experience. Our kids felt special, not like they were just tagging along. We also noticed there were a lot of other families with young kids staying there, which made the environment feel even more relaxed and family-friendly. The room was spotless and very high-tech鈥攐ur kids loved the Bluetooth mirrors in the bathroom, and we liked being able to control the TV from our phones. The pool was a huge hit with the kids, and breakfast was great鈥攍ots of options, and no pressure or rush. The area around the hotel felt really safe, which was important to us since we weren鈥檛 familiar with Milwaukee. We even noticed a security guard at night, which gave us extra peace of mind. We explored the Third Ward nearby and loved how walkable and beautiful the neighborhood was. One of my favorite things was that we actually spent time just hanging out in the lobby with our kids. It felt that comfortable and welcoming鈥攕omething we鈥檝e never really done at other hotels. Overall, this was a really special stay for our family. Thank you to the Cambria staff for making us feel so taken care of. We鈥檒l definitely be back the next time we visit Milwaukee.

I booked this hotel before seeing the awful reviews online as I needed a one day trip. Well then I saw the reviews about break ins so I never checked in and I booked a different hotel. Because it was booked the day before the stay there was a no refund on and no cancellation allowed. Ok fine. They did say there would be a security deposit at time of check-in for 150. I found a different hotel and obviously Cambria wouldn't let me cancel fine. Whatever. But 2am they still charged me an additional 150 fee and they claimed it was because I didn't cancel within the cancellation time. There was no cancellation allowed. What a rip off. Additionally when I initially purchased my room the lady who took my reservation put my email incorrect and I never got a reservation email and she never gave me a confirmation # and immediately dumped me into a promotional line trying to upsell me Florida vacations which was stressful. It took forever to get off the phone with those people no matter how many times I said no thank you so I could call the hotel back and get my email corrected. But then I also had to get my email corrected at some spamming promoting site so I can hopefully later go scrub my phone and name from that. Gosh. What an awful experience. When I called to correct my email customer service at hotel was nice, when I called to correct my email at promotional crud they were nice but again tried to upsell. When I called to dispute the charging me a security deposit for a hotel I never checked in at 345 am though the lady was straight rude saying it was a third party charge and it's my fault for not cancelling within the cancellation window. There was zero window and zero option to cancel. Never ever will I stay at your hotels for as long as I live. What a joke. Thank goodness I didn't also get my car vandalized like the rest of the reviewers. Edit: giving back 1 star because the $150 charge finally fell off but it took a full week. In my opinion they should never be able to run a security deposit fee for a hotel you never set foot in but at least it's dropped off. Still won't stay here.
