We just checked out of our stay, and while there were definitely some high points, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. First off, the customer service was excellent—everyone from the front desk to the valet attendants was kind, helpful, and quick to respond to any requests. Also, having a Starbucks inside the hotel was a nice convenience. Unfortunately, that’s about where the positives end… The hotel itself felt subpar. The towels were super thin and small, the shower door didn’t close all the way (which meant water all over the floor after every shower), and there were missing ceiling tiles throughout parts of the hotel—which made it feel neglected and poorly maintained. The mattresses were extremely comfortable however they had visible stains, which was unsettling—mattress protectors should absolutely be used! The valet system was one of the biggest frustrations. It often took an unreasonably long time to get our car or to drop it off, and because of the hotel’s location, we had to wait in the street for extended periods before we could even pull up to valet. For $55 a night, it was far from worth it. In short: amazing staff, but the facility and logistics really need work. We expected more for the price we paid.

Located at 133 Carnegie Way NW, Atlanta, GA 30303, USA, this Marriott property leverages its heritage as the historic Carnegie Building, providing a unique architectural backdrop for a comfortable stay.
The Courtyard Atlanta Downtown boasts an exceptional location that is consistently praised by guests. Situated in the bustling downtown core, the hotel offers unparalleled walkability to a myriad of Atlanta's most celebrated attractions. Guests can easily stroll to iconic destinations such as Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, State Farm Arena, and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The hotel's proximity to the Peachtree Center MARTA station is another significant advantage, offering seamless public transportation access to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and connectivity across the city. Being in such a central urban setting, guests have immediate access to a diverse array of dining options, shopping venues, and entertainment, ensuring a dynamic experience right outside the hotel doors. While the central location offers convenience, it's worth noting that some guests have observed the presence of homeless individuals in the immediate vicinity due to nearby public spaces like the library and metro station, which is a common aspect of many major city centers.
The Courtyard Atlanta Downtown offers 150 guest rooms spread across 15 floors, designed to provide a comfortable and productive stay. Many rooms are described as updated, clean, and well-appointed, with modern decor and comfortable bedding. Guests can expect essential in-room amenities such as a microwave, refrigerator, and a coffee/tea maker, adding a layer of convenience, particularly for longer stays or for those who prefer to keep snacks and beverages on hand. Each room includes a 37-inch HDTV with premium cable channels, a desk with an ergonomic chair for business travelers, and complimentary wired and wireless internet access. The bathrooms generally feature a shower/tub combination and designer toiletries. Connecting rooms and free cribs/infant beds are available, catering to families. The hotel also provides in-room safes, irons/ironing boards, and blackout drapes/curtains for guest comfort.
The hotel offers a range of services aimed at enhancing the guest experience. A significant amenity is The Bistro, the on-site American cuisine restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. This is complemented by the convenience of having a Starbucks located within the hotel, providing easy access to coffee and light bites throughout the day. While breakfast is available, it is typically a cooked-to-order service for a fee (USD 7 to 17 for adults and USD 7 to 12 for children). Other convenient services include a 24-hour fitness center equipped with cardio machines and free weights, allowing guests to maintain their workout routines. The hotel also features a 24-hour business center, two meeting rooms for small events or professional needs, and dry cleaning/laundry services. The front desk operates 24/7, and staff are noted for being helpful and efficient. The hotel offers express check-in and check-out, luggage storage, and a snack bar/deli. Valet parking is available on-site for a daily fee (approximately USD 55 per night with in/out privileges). It's important to note that while the hotel aims for efficiency, some guests have experienced delays with the valet service, partially due to the hotel's downtown location requiring waiting in the street. The hotel is a smoke-free property and offers various accessibility features including wheelchair-accessible parking, bathrooms, and public areas.
The Courtyard Atlanta Downtown often receives high marks for its exceptional customer service. Reviewers frequently praise the kindness, helpfulness, and responsiveness of the staff, from the front desk to the valet attendants. The presence of a Starbucks on-site is a well-appreciated convenience. Many guests find the rooms to be spacious and the beds comfortable, contributing to a pleasant stay. The hotel's central location is consistently highlighted as a major positive, allowing easy access to major attractions by foot.
However, an objective introduction necessitates acknowledging areas where guest experiences have varied. Some feedback indicates that the hotel's facility itself can feel "subpar" in certain aspects. Specific concerns mentioned include thin and small towels, shower doors that don't close properly leading to water on the floor, and visible missing ceiling tiles in some common areas, which can give an impression of neglect. While mattresses are generally found to be comfortable, some guests have reported visible stains, suggesting a need for more consistent use of mattress protectors. The valet parking system, despite the high cost, has been a source of frustration for some guests due to long wait times for vehicle retrieval or drop-off, exacerbated by the need to wait in the street. Additionally, while rooms generally include microwaves and fridges, some guests have noted minor maintenance issues like cracked bathroom sinks and a lack of trash bags in bins upon arrival. The overall cleanliness rating from some reviews suggests there is room for improvement, although many guests still find the rooms to be clean. Despite these inconveniences, a significant number of guests express a willingness to stay at the Courtyard Atlanta Downtown again, often emphasizing that the excellent staff partially compensates for facility shortcomings. Check-in is generally from 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM, with options for early check-in or late check-out subject to availability and potential fees. The hotel does not explicitly mention a pet policy, but information available indicates that pets are generally not allowed at this specific Courtyard by Marriott location.
In conclusion, the Courtyard Atlanta Downtown, as a selection within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, offers a compelling option for travelers prioritizing a prime downtown location and attentive staff. While its historic charm and modern in-room amenities like microwaves and refrigerators are appealing, potential guests should be mindful of past guest feedback regarding facility maintenance and the valet parking experience when making their booking decisions. The hotel's central position near key attractions and public transport remains a strong draw for both leisure and business travelers to Atlanta.

May 04, 2025 · Miss AJOverall this was a very nice place, but I wouldn’t give it 5 stars because of the minor inconveniences. All of the employees were nice, checking in was smooth, my room was beautiful, I loved that it had a microwave and fridge also, the location is in walkable distance to a lot of things, in general I had no problems. BUT my bathroom sink was severely cracked and damaged, don’t know why’d they put anyone in there before fixing it, none of the trash cans had trash bags in them, and on a scale of 1 to 10 I’d rate the cleanliness an 8.5. Not terrible but could be a little better. But I’d definitely stay here again !
Apr 21, 2025 · Jazmine PrudeMy family and I received wonderful service from Jamon at the front desk - he was very friendly and always has a smile on his face. We also received great service from Cynthia at The Bistro - we ordered food and drinks from her for 2 nights and both nights she took real good care of us! The location of this hotel is within walking distance to the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, and Centennial Park. The room was clean and the beds/pillows were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay!
Apr 20, 2025 · Winnie BriggsThis is a good hotel for any downtown plans like the aquarium or coca cola factory. For anything else be prepared to use Uber or take your chances on the public transport. Apart from some places to eat and the main attractions there is nothing else to see downtown. The hotel itself is quite nice but the rooms we had pre booked because of accessibility needs were not available at check in despite having been booked several months prior. This was resolved the next day but wasnt a great start to the holiday. The hotel is quiet but there is a large houseless population that hang out at the railway station next door so be prepared to be hassled if you are outside the hotel or sitting in the little patio area. I was asked for money, cigarettes and clothes and not always in a nice way so could be quite intimidating. The rooms aren't properly cleaned apart from making the bed- not needed, emptying bins and providing fresh towels daily- again not needed. Also be prepared for all the additional taxes and fees that are added which weren't clear at point of booking. The lifts also regularly broke down during our stay and the service certificate in the lift was out of date. On a positive note some of the staff were lovely and went out of their way to help you and it is quiet so able to relax.
May 20, 2025 · Sarah OrrissNice hotel close to many attractions and restaurants. Staff at front desk are friendly and helpful in deciding on food options. The elevator was slow. Rooms were clean and pleasant
