The remote control for the television is horrible. Most remote you can feel your way around the remote and don't have to turn on the light each time you want to use it. I've never had this problem. Being someone disabled and having stayed in an ADA room, the complexity of the remote made a very very very very very very difficult for me to watch television.. I was often canceling what I was watching and having to find my way back. And the fact that the OK button is so flush with the arrow buttons further compounds the confusion. Other than that it was a wonderful wonderful wonderful stay I enjoy the whirlpool I enjoy the accessibility to the pool. The service is great. Location parking everything was great. I received plentiful assistance from the staff. The remote control needs improvement in the tactile areas. lt drove me bonkers. Thanks

Located at 325 Rowan Blvd, Glassboro, NJ 08028, USA, this Marriott-affiliated hotel offers contemporary accommodations and a range of amenities. For inquiries or reservations, guests can contact the hotel at (856) 881-0048 or via mobile at +1 856-881-0048. As a Courtyard by Marriott, it aims to provide a reliable and comfortable experience for both business and leisure travelers.
The Courtyard Glassboro Rowan University is situated on Rowan Boulevard, a mixed-use development that integrates university life with retail, dining, and residential spaces. This location places guests directly within the lively atmosphere of Rowan University's campus extension, making it exceptionally convenient for those visiting the university for admissions, events, or academic purposes. The hotel itself features a "new state-of-the-art lobby," which is designed to be a flexible space for working, relaxing, or socializing. It boasts a modern aesthetic, typically found in newer Courtyard properties, with inviting communal areas. Guests often appreciate the hotel's proximity to various restaurants and bars, providing ample dining and entertainment options within walking distance. Attractions such as the Whitney Mansion, The Heritage Glass Museum, and St. Thomas Episcopal Church are also within walking distance.
While the overall environment inside is generally considered "comfortable and clean," as noted by long-term guests, there can be external factors to consider. Being in a university town, especially during events, there might be increased activity or noise levels in the vicinity, although this is typical for such a location. The hotel features an indoor pool and hot tub, providing recreational opportunities within the property, which are generally well-received. The property aims to be a smoke-free environment and incorporates energy-saving features like LED lighting and recycling policies.
The hotel's design emphasizes functionality and comfort, typical of the Courtyard brand. It offers a variety of public spaces where guests can work, socialize, or simply unwind. This includes ample seating in the lobby and a modern aesthetic that prioritizes a contemporary guest experience.
The service at the Courtyard Glassboro Rowan University generally receives high marks, particularly from guests who interact frequently with the front desk staff. Reviewers describe the front desk people as "really wonderful" and "extremely nice," acknowledging their efforts to "take care of me." This indicates a strong commitment to guest satisfaction from the on-site team. The hotel also provides plentiful assistance from its staff, which is a significant positive for visitors, including those with specific accessibility needs. The willingness of staff to assist, such as bringing extra coffee to a room, highlights their attentiveness.
The hotel offers a range of standard services, including a 24-hour front desk, express check-in and check-out, and laundry facilities. The on-site restaurant, The Bistro, serves cooked-to-order breakfast (for a surcharge) and dinner, along with a bar/lounge and a coffee shop/cafe. While the general dining experience is not detailed in the provided reviews, the presence of these options offers convenience for guests, allowing them to dine without leaving the premises. Housekeeping services are provided daily, although some reviews suggest that daily room cleaning may need to be specifically requested in some instances, and replenishment of in-room amenities like coffee may not always be automatic.
A recurring point of frustration, however, is the in-room television remote control. One guest, particularly highlighting an experience in an ADA room, found the remote "horrible" and "very very very very very very difficult" to use due to its lack of tactile differentiation and flush buttons, leading to frequent accidental cancellations. While seemingly minor, this detail significantly impacted the guest's ability to enjoy in-room entertainment, underscoring the importance of user-friendly technology for all guests, especially those with disabilities. This suggests a need for improvement in the user interface of in-room technology.
The Courtyard Glassboro Rowan University offers several appealing features that contribute to a comfortable stay:
However, the most significant and frequently cited drawback to this hotel is the "parking situation." While the hotel indicates "free onsite self-parking" and "wheelchair-accessible parking," the limited number of spots directly outside the hotel often forces guests to use the "parking garage across the street." This garage, managed by Nexus Parking (and seemingly not directly by the hotel), is described as "VERY tight," with a system that "rarely works," often leading to guests being charged even when their plate is verified or when they are simply "driving around looking for a spot." Instances of the garage being full, even on upper floors, causing "anxiety" and being the "WORST night" for some guests, highlight a major operational issue that significantly impacts the overall guest experience, despite the hotel's otherwise positive attributes. The staff of the parking garage is also described as "VERY rude," further exacerbating the problem. This external parking issue appears to be a significant detractor from an otherwise positive stay for many guests.
When promoting the Courtyard Glassboro Rowan University to local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," the hotel would primarily emphasize its modern amenities, comfortable accommodations, and unparalleled convenience to Rowan University. It would likely highlight its state-of-the-art lobby, indoor pool, fitness center, and The Bistro for on-site dining. Its suitability for university visits, as well as for events held in Glassboro, would be key selling points, leveraging its prime location on Rowan Boulevard. The overall positive feedback regarding staff service and room cleanliness would also feature prominently in promotional materials. The availability of ADA-compliant rooms and accessible facilities would be a strong point for guests with specific needs.
However, based on consistent guest feedback, potential visitors need to be acutely aware of the significant challenges related to parking. While the hotel itself receives praise for its staff and facilities, the parking issues, specifically with the Nexus parking garage, are a major deterrent for many guests, with some stating they "will not return to this hotel due to the parking situation." This aspect alone can overshadow an otherwise "wonderful wonderful wonderful stay," as highlighted by the long-term guest's decision to discontinue their stay. The issues with the TV remote, though less critical, also point to areas where user experience could be improved.
For travelers considering this hotel, especially those arriving by car, it would be prudent to inquire about the current parking arrangements and potential solutions to the reported issues with the Nexus parking garage. It might be beneficial to understand if any direct hotel-managed parking alternatives are available or if there are specific times when the garage is less crowded. While the hotel offers a clean, comfortable, and well-located stay with good services, the parking experience is a critical factor that could significantly influence overall satisfaction. The hotel's management, including General Manager Shannon Dearin (sdearin@shanercorp.com, 856-881-0048), is aware of guest feedback, indicating an opportunity for continuous improvement based on guest reviews.

Apr 27, 2025 · K. GathersI have stayed at this Courtyard for over a year and a half 3 weeks a month, but I can no longer stay here any longer. The rooms are fairly comfortable and clean. And the front desk people are really wonderful, and they know me really well and try their best to take care of me. The BIGGEST draw back to this location is parking. It gives me anxiety each and every stay. They have little to none outside of the hotel, so you are forced to park in the parking garage across the street which is VERY tight, their staff are VERY rude, their system rarely works even though my plate gets verified each and every time so I have to pay. The straw that broke the camels back is last night I went up to the 6th floor, it was snowing and there were NO parking spots! And I went to leave, and the person manning the booth was going to charge me for driving around looking for a spot. WORST night of my life. Nexus parking is the pits and it impacts the hotel. I hate it, but I probably will not return to this hotel due to the parking situation. It is a shame, because the night time clerks are extremely nice to me.
Feb 13, 2025 · Nikki WilliamsGreat location and a nice, modern courtyard. We have stayed here many times as it’s close to family. We always dread staying here though and do so only because of location. The hotel itself is fine but it attracts a bad crowd - nearly every time we stayed, we dealt with loud parties, noise all night in the hallways and hallways filled with pot smoke. Not a place to stay if you are a light sleeper, have kids or are particularly concerned with personal safety.
Dec 27, 2024 · William RobertsRoom not cleaned thoroughly. There was food in the fridge left from previous guest. Went to desk to complain, spoke to young lady(who was occupied by her phone) and told her about my situation. She did not seem interested. I asked to speak to a manager, she went to the back for like 2 mins and came back to say manager was busy. Clearly she just didn’t want to rectify the situation. There are a lot of new faces and not a lot of skill. Only perks were the young lady there Friday afternoon at check in and the young guy Sunday night that helped me find something I had left in the lobby that morning. More training and new managers are needed.
Mar 02, 2025 · Family CouponModerate. Wish there were other options around and maybe they would be better. Not great for business. The printers haven't worked in 3 years according to the host. The internet and cell service goes in and out here and isn't the strongest. They will not allow early arrivals even when underbooked. Otherwise, the hotel is comfortable, parking is complimentary (a big plus) and convenient, location is in the center of everything. There is nighttime security on the premises.
