Stayed here over the weekend for a soccer tournament nearby. As busy as it was when we arrived check in went fairly quick and smooth. The room was spacious and overall clean. Breakfast was good enough to get the job done and the location worked out well for us based on where we needed to be. The pull out in the king suite was not great, even when comparing it to other pull outs. Mattress was the thinnest I've ever seen and every single spring and bar could be felt through it. The actual king in the bedroom was comfortable. The room had a TV in the living room and the bedroom but only 1 remote and neither TVs were "Smart" and did not have interactive channel guides. You had to watch the scrolling guide and then type in the channel on the remote. There was also no way to use the other inputs on the TV which was frustrating as well. Let's get it together IHG, it's 2025 and the TVs should reflect that, not 1995.
For local users in Williamstown, New Jersey, and the surrounding Glassboro area, or those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with the reliability typically associated with a known brand, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Williamstown - Glassboro by IHG, located at 1151 N Black Horse Pike, Williamstown, NJ 08094, USA, is a prominent option. This hotel generally caters to both leisure and business travelers, often serving as a convenient base for visitors attending local events, particularly sports tournaments, or those visiting Rowan University in nearby Glassboro.
The "Hotels Near Of Me" category perfectly encapsulates the appeal of this Holiday Inn Express & Suites. It provides a recognized brand name and consistent quality for local residents needing extra space for visiting family, or for individuals requiring a comfortable and reliable stay within their immediate geographical area. Its location on a major highway makes it easily accessible for local drivers, offering a straightforward solution for temporary lodging without straying far from the familiar surroundings of Williamstown and Glassboro.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Williamstown - Glassboro is strategically situated on the North Black Horse Pike (NJ-42/NJ-322), a significant commercial corridor in South Jersey. This placement ensures high visibility and easy vehicular access for guests. The immediate environment is characteristic of a roadside commercial zone, likely featuring other businesses, restaurants, and retail establishments that cater to travelers and local commuters. While the direct surroundings may not offer scenic views or extensive pedestrian areas, the convenience of highway access is a key advantage.
The hotel's location is particularly beneficial for those attending local events. Reviews explicitly mention its suitability for "soccer tournament nearby," highlighting its proximity to regional sports complexes. Furthermore, its location serves as a practical base for visitors to Rowan University in Glassboro, which is a short drive away. For travelers heading between major cities like Philadelphia and Atlantic City, the hotel's position on the Black Horse Pike offers a convenient stopover point.
Williamstown itself is a community within Monroe Township, Gloucester County, offering a mix of suburban and semi-rural elements. While the hotel is on a busy road, guests will find various local amenities and services within a reasonable driving distance, including dining options and convenience stores.
As an Holiday Inn Express & Suites property, this hotel typically offers a range of room types designed for comfort and functionality, often including standard rooms and suites. Customer feedback generally indicates that rooms are "spacious and overall clean." This suggests that the hotel maintains a good standard of cleanliness and provides ample space for guests, which is a positive attribute for a mid-range hotel. Specific room amenities generally include a comfortable bed (e.g., King), a seating area, and typically multiple TVs.
However, specific feedback from a customer provides important details about certain features. While the actual king bed in the bedroom was described as "comfortable," the pull-out sofa in the King Suite received significant criticism: "Mattress was the thinnest I've ever seen and every single spring and bar could be felt through it." This indicates that the comfort of the pull-out option, often used for families or groups, might be a considerable drawback. This is a crucial point for guests planning to utilize the sofa bed for sleeping.
Another prominent feature highlighted in the review pertains to the in-room entertainment system. Despite having "a TV in the living room and the bedroom," guests found them to be outdated: "neither TVs were 'Smart' and did not have interactive channel guides. You had to watch the scrolling guide and then type in the channel on the remote. There was also no way to use the other inputs on the TV which was frustrating." This suggests a technological gap compared to modern expectations ("it's 2025 and the TVs should reflect that, not 1995"), which could be a source of frustration for guests accustomed to more advanced in-room entertainment options or those wishing to connect their own devices (e.g., gaming consoles, streaming sticks).
Rooms are typically equipped with basic amenities such as air conditioning, private bathrooms, and often a microwave and refrigerator, which are standard for an Express & Suites property.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites properties are known for certain signature amenities aimed at guest convenience. The check-in process at this location was described as "fairly quick and smooth," even during busy periods, which is a positive indication of front desk efficiency. A key offering is the complimentary breakfast, which was deemed "good enough to get the job done" by a guest. This typically includes a variety of hot and cold items, providing a convenient and cost-saving start to the day.
However, a significant and concerning issue raised by a customer pertains to the hotel's handling of deposits. A guest reported being charged a deposit that went from "pending to posted" on their credit card, and after 21 days, they still had not received a refund, creating a "beyond frustrating" situation. This implies a potential problem with the hotel's deposit refund process, which could lead to unexpected financial burdens and administrative hassle for guests. The lack of a bill for the deposit charge further complicates matters for expense reporting. This is a critical point that potential guests should be aware of and perhaps inquire about directly before booking.
Other general amenities typically found at Holiday Inn Express & Suites locations include free Wi-Fi throughout the property, a business center, and sometimes a fitness center and indoor pool, although specific details for this location are not provided in the given reviews. Free parking is generally available on-site, which is a standard convenience for this type of hotel. The phone numbers for inquiries are (856) 340-7900 and +1 856-340-7900.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Williamstown - Glassboro by IHG promotes itself as a reliable and convenient option within the well-known IHG brand family. Its key selling points, as suggested by reviews, include its suitability for local events like soccer tournaments due to location, spacious and generally clean rooms, and the included complimentary breakfast. For many travelers, the brand recognition of Holiday Inn Express provides a certain level of assurance regarding quality and consistency.
However, the customer experiences also highlight areas that could impact satisfaction. While the king bed is comfortable, the uncomfortable pull-out sofa is a notable drawback for families or groups. The outdated TV technology can also detract from the in-room experience for guests expecting modern entertainment options. Most significantly, the severe issue reported with the un-refunded deposit presents a substantial concern, potentially leading to financial stress and administrative burden for guests. This specific feedback is a critical piece of information for anyone considering a stay, as it directly relates to financial trust and transparency.
In conclusion, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Williamstown - Glassboro by IHG serves as a convenient and generally clean "Hotels Near Of Me" option for local users and travelers in the Williamstown/Glassboro area, especially for those attending local events. While it delivers on basic comforts and complimentary breakfast, potential guests should manage expectations regarding the comfort of pull-out sofas and the modernity of in-room technology. Crucially, it is advisable for guests to thoroughly understand the hotel's deposit policy and confirm refund procedures before booking, given the significant issues reported by a recent customer.

Mar 24, 2025 · Jonathan FerranteYou will be charged a deposit for the room and not get the deposit back. I was charged $118 on 2-27-25. I arrived on 3-10 left 3-14-25. The deposit charge went from pending to posted on my VISA so I hade to either pay or dipute the charge. I called the hotel and said that it would come off of my card in a few business days. Were are at 21 days beyond the charge. I still do not know if it will come off my card at this point. It is beyond frustating. I have submitted my expenses with my employer for the room I was charged for but I never recieved a bill for the $118 dollars I am having to pay Holiday Inn, so I am out $118 of my own money because I reserved rom at this location.
Mar 21, 2025 · kyle sladeWas visiting NJ from MN for a week in March and this hotel was centrally located to everywhere I had to go. Honestly a pretty decent hotel, especially if you get assigned one of the newer rooms on the north wing. Would definitely stay here again!
Apr 19, 2025 · Victor Ruiz-CamposAbove the normal express hotels! Clean, courteous help! Complimentary breakfast was on par with similar and the location was "ok" on a major thoroughfare. Our soccer team stayed with several other teams for a tournament (25 mins backroads to Tuckahoe Turf Farms). Very accommodating for team event, especially Adam at the front desk! THANKS!!!
Apr 27, 2025 · EK KeimEverything is great, apart from the noise. Loudest hotel I think I've ever stayed in. Road noise and other guests. But the room was nice, and the staff very friendly.
