We weren't in the room for a very lengthy time, dropped off suitcases and changed clothes after check-in and didn't return until late night basically to shower and sleep and there was a cockroach in the bathroom this morning. We let the desk know at checkout and were informed points would be received but that hasn't happened. Filed a case with corporate and they advised a followup would occur within 5 business days and that hasn't happened either. This is the 2nd time in 3 different courtyard/marriotts that we have had issues. We are extremely hesitant to stay at another marriott property. The prices we've paid and the issues we've had do not fulfill the standard that marriott advertises.

Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with a focus on modern amenities and convenient access, the Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge stands as a notable option. Situated at 5100 Campbells Run Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, USA, this Marriott property aims to provide a comfortable and functional stay for both business and leisure travelers, particularly those seeking proximity to Pittsburgh International Airport and the developing Settlers Ridge area.

Environment and Location:

The Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge is located in the vibrant and relatively new Settlers Ridge development, a suburban enclave just west of downtown Pittsburgh. This area is characterized by its contemporary commercial and retail establishments, offering a clean and modern environment. The hotel's location is particularly advantageous for travelers utilizing Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), as it's approximately 6 to 10 miles away, with a complimentary airport shuttle service available. The shuttle typically operates from early morning (around 4:00 AM) to late night (around 11:00 PM or midnight), at scheduled times and on request. This makes it an ideal choice for layovers or early morning/late night flights, minimizing travel stress to and from the airport.

Beyond airport convenience, the hotel offers accessibility to downtown Pittsburgh, which is roughly 8 to 11 miles away. This allows guests to easily reach popular city attractions like Acrisure Stadium, PNC Park, PPG Paints Arena, and the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The immediate vicinity of the hotel within Settlers Ridge provides various dining options and shopping opportunities, including the Settlers Ridge shopping center itself. This means guests have convenient access to amenities without needing to travel far. The area is generally considered safe and offers a quieter atmosphere compared to the bustling city center.

The hotel is nestled in a well-maintained setting with ample outdoor space. While the parking is an open lot and incurs a daily surcharge (approximately $4 to $10 per day, with variations, so it's advisable to confirm current policies), it is readily available, including wheelchair-accessible parking. The property has a modern aesthetic, aligning with the contemporary feel of the surrounding Settlers Ridge development.

Services and Amenities:

The Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge features 124 well-appointed rooms, including a number of suites, designed to provide both comfort and productivity. Guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning, 32-inch Smart TVs with cable channels and Netflix, complimentary wired and wireless internet access, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee/tea makers, and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries. Pillowtop beds with down comforters and blackout drapes/curtains aim to ensure a restful night's sleep. Free cribs/infant beds and rollaway/extra beds are available upon request, and connecting rooms can be arranged, subject to availability. Accessible rooms are also offered, including those with roll-in showers or accessible tubs, and various other accessibility features to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests.

For dining, the hotel features The Bistro, an on-site American restaurant serving breakfast, dinner, and light fare. While breakfast is available, it is not complimentary and typically incurs a surcharge (approximately $11 to $14 per person for cooked-to-order or continental breakfast). The Bistro also offers Starbucks coffee and evening cocktails, providing a convenient option for guests who prefer to dine on-site rather than venture out.

Recreational amenities include a heated indoor pool, a popular feature for both families and individuals looking to relax or exercise. There is also a 24-hour fitness center equipped with various exercise machines and free weights, catering to guests who wish to maintain their workout routines while traveling. A terrace offers an outdoor space for relaxation.

For business travelers, the hotel provides a 24-hour business center with complimentary wired internet access, a 24-hour front desk, express check-out, and meeting facilities. The hotel has approximately 1,324 square feet of event space across meeting rooms, making it suitable for small conferences or corporate gatherings of up to 75 people. Other services include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, a gift shop/newsstand, and a grocery/convenience store on-site. The hotel is a smoke-free property.

Features and Distinctives:

A key distinctive feature of the Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge is its contemporary design and focus on providing functional spaces for both work and relaxation, characteristic of the Courtyard by Marriott brand. The presence of The Bistro, offering dining and beverages on-site, adds convenience, though the lack of complimentary breakfast is a point of differentiation from some other hotels in the area. This can be a factor for travelers prioritizing all-inclusive pricing.

The hotel's location within the Settlers Ridge development, offering immediate access to retail and dining, is a significant advantage. Its close proximity to the airport, combined with the complimentary airport shuttle service, positions it as a prime choice for air travelers seeking convenience. The indoor pool and 24-hour fitness center provide valuable recreational options, enhancing the overall guest experience, especially for extended stays or families.

As a Marriott property, guests can leverage the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, earning and redeeming points for their stays. The hotel also emphasizes cleanliness and guest safety, implementing various protocols for hygiene and disinfection, including daily cleaning and increased availability of sanitation products.

Promotional Information and Guest Experiences:

The Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge is promoted as a modern and convenient hotel, ideal for connecting to Pittsburgh International Airport and exploring the surrounding areas. Marketing highlights its updated rooms, comfortable bedding, and amenities like the indoor pool and fitness center. Its location within a developing commercial hub is often emphasized to showcase convenience for dining and shopping.

However, real customer reviews indicate a mixed experience. While many guests praise the hotel for its location, cleanliness, and the helpfulness of its staff, others have reported significant issues. Positive feedback often mentions the modern rooms, comfortable beds, and convenience for airport access. Many appreciate the property's clean appearance and the proximity to nearby attractions. Some reviews specifically mention the friendliness of the staff and good service.

Conversely, a recurring theme in negative reviews relates to maintenance and service recovery. Guests have reported issues such as finding cockroaches in bathrooms and blood spots on comforters, and pack-n-plays not being set up as requested. More critically, the hotel's response to these issues has been a point of contention, with guests feeling that problems were not adequately resolved or compensated for (e.g., promised points not awarded, or being asked to switch rooms late at night due to uncleaned bedding). The perceived lack of responsiveness from front desk staff in handling immediate guest discomfort has led to significant dissatisfaction for some. The charge for open-lot parking is also a point of confusion and frustration for some, particularly when competing hotels in the area offer complimentary or covered parking.

These varied experiences suggest that while the Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge offers strong physical amenities and a strategic location, consistency in housekeeping and responsive guest service in the face of issues can impact a stay. Potential guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" might find the amenities appealing, but should also consider the reported inconsistencies in service delivery and factor in potential charges for parking and breakfast when evaluating overall value.

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Settlers Ridge this past Thursday-Sunday. This was my second time staying at this specific hotel. I am from the city of Pittsburgh but I’ve moved and family spaces were all packed so I needed a room for my partner and son (8 month old baby) and I. I was in town for my brothers wedding and this place was most central. I got in on Thursday and had to do some running around before checking in so we did not check in until about 7 or 8 pm. Since we had the baby I called ahead to have them put a pack n play in the room thinking it would be set up and ready for baby to take a nap. There ended up being 2 pack n plays in our room but neither were set up so we set one up and took the other to the front desk. The sheets provided for it looked beat down so I’m glad we brought our own for the pack n play. Once we got the baby settled we turned off the lights and got in bed. In the morning we pulled the top sheet back on the bed and saw there was blood spots on the comforter. It was not our blood. I let the front desk know on our way out around 1pm Friday and was assured it would be taken care of. We went to the wedding and came back around 9 pm and the bedding had not been changed. I went down the let the front desk know and their solution was to have us switch rooms because housekeeping was already gone and nothing could be done at that point. We were so tired and had to move all our stuff including dragging the pack n play to another room before we could get the baby settled and go to bed. Upon checking out I let the woman at the front desk know and she said she would “award some points or something” to my Marriott account. No free night for the inconvenience and no points have been awarded. I would not likely stay here again. It would have made more sense just to pay whatever extra at an AirBNB. There is a Hilton Garden Inn in the neighboring parking lot if you like the location and their parking is at least covered. Courtyard Marriott charges $4 for parking and it’s just an open lot. I was confused why there was a charge for parking.

The hotel is nice and clean, and I would recommend it overall. However, I think the customer service could use some improvement, especially with the night crew. I’m not sure if they’re sleep-deprived, but the service didn’t meet the Elite Marriott Bonvoy standards. Also, I’ve never stayed at a Marriott that charges $5 for a water bottle in the room. It’s not a great look, but we know they’re unlikely to change it since it’s all about the money. Aside from that, it’s a clean hotel in a quiet and safe location.

Helpful at check-in. Booking.com had botched my reservation but Courtyard was helpful in finding a room for the night. Comfortable, clean room. Spacious bathroom. Plenty of parking around hotel. Bar/eatery downstairs with plenty of cozy sitting areas.

Interesting logistics. Only one way in so depends on what side of the road you're on you may have to run around and turn by the Drury to come back and head in. Have not awaken with a sore back this bad in years. Maybe time for mattress changes. Place is clean and the staff is fully accommodating.
