Location was perfect, however nothing else was worth the price. Found dirty used contact lens in the bathroom from prior clients. The ceiling had water damage. Had to contact a few times to ensure I had late checkout at 4pm. It was confirmed but then when I returned at 3pm, I’m locked out. Finally retrieve my vehicle from valet parking at $30 per day to see that it was parked where birds were obviously nesting. They didn’t even clean the windows when they brought it out of parking and could not see clearly out the windshield to drive away.
For anyone seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the bustling urban landscape of Stamford, Connecticut, the Courtyard Stamford Downtown by Marriott presents itself as a notable option. Situated at 275 Summer St, Stamford, CT 06901, USA, this hotel boasts a highly desirable downtown location, putting guests within easy reach of the city's myriad attractions, corporate offices, and vibrant dining scene. As a Courtyard by Marriott, it aims to provide a reliable and comfortable stay, though individual guest experiences can vary.
The environment of the Courtyard Stamford Downtown is characterized by its modern and recently renovated spaces. Guests frequently comment on the "new rooms" being "nice" and the hotel generally maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. The common areas, including the lobby and lounge, are designed to be inviting and functional, offering spaces for work, relaxation, or casual meetings. The hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub, providing recreational opportunities regardless of the weather. While the aesthetic is contemporary and well-maintained, one review highlighted specific issues like "water damage" on the ceiling and cleanliness oversights in the bathroom, suggesting that while renovations have occurred, consistency in maintenance might be an area for attention. Despite these points, the overall impression for many is that it is a "good Courtyard" with a generally "warm and inviting atmosphere."
The services at Courtyard Stamford Downtown receive mixed but largely positive feedback. Many guests commend the "excellent service" and highlight that the staff, particularly at the front desk, are "helpful and friendly." Instances of staff going "above and beyond," such as offering early check-in and room upgrades without extra charge for families, demonstrate a strong commitment to guest satisfaction. Room service requests for towels and pillows are noted to be handled "quickly and without any issues." However, one critical review points to significant issues with consistency, specifically concerning late checkout procedures, where a confirmed late checkout led to a guest being locked out of their room. The valet parking service also received negative feedback regarding the condition of the vehicle upon retrieval, suggesting inconsistencies in service quality. Valet parking is offered, typically at a surcharge (around $15-30 per night), and a free train station pick-up shuttle is also provided. Housekeeping is available upon request.

While a "cooked-to-order breakfast" is available, it comes with a surcharge (around USD 15 per person), and one review suggested the breakfast service was "lacking a bit." For recreation, there is an indoor pool and a hot tub. The hotel also boasts a 24-hour fitness center, allowing guests to maintain their workout routines. Business travelers benefit from a 24-hour business center, coworking spaces, and three meeting rooms totaling over 877 sq ft of flexible event space, equipped with AV equipment and catering options. May 21, 2025 · Kevin Mahoney SrIt's a Courtyard and a good one. New rooms are nice. Service is excellent. Good place to eat in hotel but the breakfast service is lacking a bit. Better than the full service Marriott nearby.
Mar 04, 2025 · Kevin HealyWonderful experience. Perfect location on a super cute street with lots of restaurants. Very clean with a quint bar and Italian restaurant in the lobby. Special shout-out to Yuri at the front desk for exceptional service and hospitality.
Feb 03, 2025 · Michelle Galano (Michelle & Greg Galano)The day of my checkout I requested my Uber to the airport and when I went out to get in it, the valet parking guy was yelling at my Uber because he couldn't wait for me in front of the hotel. It was a pretty tense situation since along with the driver of a black bus (I imagine it was from the hotel) they were yelling and verbally attacking the Uber telling him that they were going to send the police to him for waiting there. There were several guests in the place and all this happened there. This seemed like a gang episode since once I managed to get in the Uber, the bus driver was blocking us so that we couldn't get out. In addition, he almost crashed my Uber with me inside while the valet parking guy kept yelling (who by his voice I think was from Puerto Rico since I also speak Spanish) that he was going to call the police to fine him. I apologized to my Uber since I was very embarrassed by the situation I put him in. This is truly shameful that I, as a hotel guest, had to go through this just for requesting an Uber.
Mar 04, 2025 · I’m GeorgieWe went for a marriage retreat with our church and we’re blown away by the amazing hospitality we received. The front desk workers were so friendly and helpful. The cleaning service workers were so nice too! Will go back!
