The management at this hotel is quite bad. Anybody can offer up a clean place to sleep, that’s a low bar. Providing good service and respectful communication should be an expectation a guest can have, but that isn’t the case here. I recommend going elsewhere, while also pointing out this is managed by the same team as the adjoining Residence Inn. Marriott can’t be proud of this property.

The services provided at the Courtyard Syracuse Downtown at Armory Square aim to offer a convenient and functional stay. A key service amenity for Courtyard by Marriott properties is The Bistro, which serves as a central hub for dining. Guests can enjoy breakfast, often including cooked-to-order items, as well as dinner options and a selection of alcoholic beverages in the evening. This on-site dining eliminates the need to venture out for every meal, offering convenience, particularly for business travelers or those with busy schedules. As noted in customer feedback, the Bistro staff, especially the morning crew, are often highlighted for their kindness and good service. Standard hotel services typically include a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that assistance is always available. Complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the property is a standard offering, crucial for both leisure and business guests. For those needing to maintain their fitness routines, the hotel generally provides a fitness center. Business services such as access to a business center with computers and printing capabilities are also commonly available. While a prior review mentions issues with management and communication, it's important to note that staff interactions, particularly at the Bistro, were positively highlighted, suggesting varying levels of service across different departments. Housekeeping services ensure rooms are cleaned regularly, as confirmed by a guest who found their room to be clean.
The features of the Courtyard Syracuse Downtown at Armory Square align with the brand's focus on modern amenities and comfortable spaces. Guest rooms are designed for both productivity and relaxation, often featuring a functional workspace, comfortable beds, and flat-screen televisions with streaming capabilities. The clean and simple design of the rooms, as mentioned in a review, suggests a focus on practicality and contemporary aesthetics. While the hotel does not inherently boast views of natural landmarks, its urban views contribute to the downtown experience. A notable feature, common to Courtyard hotels, is the lobby area, which is designed to be a flexible space for working, socializing, or unwinding, often with ample seating and power outlets. The presence of The Bistro as an on-site dining option is a core feature, providing a convenient food and beverage service. For guests with vehicles, parking is a critical feature, though it can be somewhat confusing as highlighted in customer reviews, with access from both Franklin Street (2nd level) and W Fayette (1st level). The concern about monitoring the parking lots and potential non-guest vehicles occupying paid spots is a significant point of feedback regarding this feature. Nevertheless, parking is available, which is an important consideration in a downtown environment. An indoor pool or fitness center would typically be expected as a recreational feature, though specific details should be verified with the hotel directly.

May 01, 2025 · Derek WallaceRoom was cleaned. Staff was kind - especially the bistro staff (even more so - morning staff). Breakfast was good. Parking is the most confusing due to 2nd level parking access from Franklin Street And 1st level parking is on W Fayette. I feel the parking lots could use better monitoring as it was difficult to find a spot I had paid for on Saturday night. There may have been a surplus of not permitted parking from neighboring business. I had to wait 10-20 for a spot to open; vacated by some younger folks who may have been drinking it smoking; definitely not hotel guests.
Apr 02, 2025 · Kenneth ClarkHotel and rooms are ok. Service was lacking. Booked a bed and breakfast rate, but breakfast staff did show up, hotel didn't accomadate or reduce rate and charged me for breakfasr purchases from the store. Staff not helpful at all.
May 11, 2025 · James HarmonI booked my stay at the Syracuse courtyard by Marriott back in September for one night in April, the 19th. I called two weeks out to request an early check in because we were going to a concert at the dome and wouldn’t be back to the hotel until after midnight. I checked in online a day in advance and went in on Saturday April 19th at 11:00am to try to check in. I was told that no rooms were available (even though all I needed was a key then we were leaving for the concert at the dome). They said they couldn’t give a key out but my reservation was secure. Well, I returned at 12:45 am with my teenage son to find that they CANCELLED MY RESERVATION even with the notes on my reservation that said I would be arriving late. They sold my reservation to another person for a higher rate and sent us 10 miles away to a dumpy Holiday inn express where the shower didn’t even work! The best part is that nobody at the property could even figure out where they had sent my “reservation”. AWFUL customer service and an AWFUL experience! I am beyond furious STILL with this property and DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone!
Apr 21, 2025 · Eric OesterleThis was the most uncomfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. I had to post so others who need a good night of sleep before a long day don’t have the same experience. Felt like I was sleeping directly on springs with lumpy cheap pillows. I’d expect that from a $40 motel, not a business with the Marriott name on it!
