This has been hands down one of my favorite "Stay to Play" hotels. The rooms were nicely kept, and the pool was functioning. It's literally rite off Route 5 and surrounded by everything from Aldi to CVS and restaurants. There is plenty of parking, friendly staff that thankfully didn't push the hotel app, and the beds are beyond comfortable. Seriously, my son is still talking about the beds 馃ぃ. Also don't sleep on the food. The Tater Tot breakfast bowl is phenomenal. Here is what I will say that some of my team may disown me for. I liked that they put their foot down with the kids' shenanigans. We came as a youth hocky team, and the kids are used to running the hotel show. This place was not having it. No knee hockey in the hall, no kids unsupervised in the gym and no manhunt throughout the hotel. My cons: *If you are hosting a youth hockey team, please clear a room for knee hockey it's a BIG thing for tournament hotel stay and will save all of our sanity and contain the beasts. *The wifi is awful. We were running off apps that tell us everything from our next rink to meal meet-ups and this made it difficult. My son couldn't log onto his Google classroom for school assignments. The lobby was better but still not super efficient. *The placement of the hotel soap/shampoo in the shower is not ideal. If the heads are straight, be prepared for scratches. Those definitely need to be reconsidered. *We had a pool issue with other guests. Looks like they booked a pool party, and not only did a few of their kids not mesh with ours the older boys were throwing items across the pool, when asked by an adult to stop or toss alongside the pool they got mouthy and disrespectful. None of the adults from that party even tried to control the situation, and we were informed the party was being hosted by a hotel employee, which appeared to make the older kids feel like they had the upper hand. I did not allow my son to utilize the pool after that evening, but IF that was the case, hotel staff should attempt parties when the hotel isn't hosting these kinds of events. Hands down, I would stay here again.
For local users and visitors seeking accommodation in the West Springfield, Massachusetts area, the Courtyard West Springfield, prominently featured in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, offers a compelling option. Located at 885 Riverdale St, West Springfield, MA 01089, USA, this hotel provides a blend of modern comfort, convenient access, and a generally positive guest experience, making it a popular choice for various types of travelers, including families and sports teams. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the hotel's environment, services, features, and promotional aspects, drawing from detailed customer reviews available online.
The environment at Courtyard West Springfield is described as clean, modern, and conducive to a comfortable stay. Guests consistently highlight that the "rooms were nicely kept" and possess a "very clean and modern" aesthetic, extending to the bathrooms. This indicates a commitment to maintaining a fresh and appealing interior. The hotel boasts a functioning "pool" and a "nice gym," providing recreational outlets for guests. While the pool is noted as "small," it "serves its purpose and the water is warm," making it suitable for relaxation or light activity. The overall atmosphere strives for a balance of relaxation and family-friendliness, as evidenced by the hotel's stance on "kids' shenanigans," which some guests appreciated for maintaining order and peace within the common areas. The exterior environment is highly convenient, being "literally rite off Route 5 and surrounded by everything from Aldi to CVS and restaurants," offering easy access to essential amenities and dining options. There is also "plenty of parking," which adds to the convenience for guests traveling by car. Despite some minor issues like the placement of soap/shampoo dispensers in the shower leading to potential scratches, the general environment is designed to be welcoming and well-maintained.
The services at Courtyard West Springfield are widely praised for their quality and the professionalism of the staff. Guests frequently commend the "friendly staff that thankfully didn't push the hotel app" and are described as "very friendly and welcoming staff, always working or moving, never hanging around." This suggests a proactive and attentive team dedicated to guest satisfaction. The hotel's food service, particularly the breakfast, receives enthusiastic reviews, with the "Tater Tot breakfast bowl" being described as "phenomenal." This highlights a significant positive aspect of the hotel's culinary offerings. However, certain service-related issues have been noted. The Wi-Fi connectivity is a recurring point of concern, described as "awful" and "not super efficient," even in the lobby. This can be a significant drawback for guests relying on internet access for work, entertainment, or travel logistics, especially for youth sports teams needing to access apps for schedules and communication. Another notable service challenge arose concerning pool usage, where a guest reported an issue with a "pool party" booked by other guests, including a hotel employee. The situation involved disrespectful behavior from older children and a lack of intervention from the adults hosting the party. While the hotel staff were informed, the perceived inaction or lack of ability to control the situation led to disappointment. This suggests that while day-to-day staff interactions are excellent, handling complex guest-on-guest issues or managing private events effectively might require further refinement to ensure a positive experience for all patrons.
Courtyard West Springfield offers several key features that contribute to its overall appeal. Foremost among these are the "nicely kept," "very clean and modern rooms and bathrooms," which are essential for a comfortable stay. The "beds are beyond comfortable," a feature that consistently earns high praise from guests, with one even mentioning their son "still talking about the beds." This focus on sleep quality is a significant advantage. The presence of a "functioning pool" and a "nice gym" provides recreational and fitness opportunities on-site. The hotel's strategic "placement" directly off Route 5, surrounded by various retail outlets and restaurants, is a prime convenience feature, eliminating the need for extensive travel for daily needs or dining. Ample parking is another practical feature for guests. The hotel also features a dining option, with the "Tater Tot breakfast bowl" being a specific highlight, indicating a commitment to quality food offerings. For youth sports teams, a unique feature is the hotel's policy against "kids' shenanigans" like "knee hockey in the hall" or unsupervised gym access, which is appreciated by some parents for maintaining order, though it can be a "con" for teams expecting more relaxed rules. Conversely, the "awful wifi" is a significant functional limitation, impacting productivity and connectivity for many guests. The design flaw of the soap/shampoo dispensers in the shower is a minor but notable feature issue that could cause discomfort. These features, both positive and negative, define the practical experience of staying at the Courtyard West Springfield.
From a promotional standpoint, Courtyard West Springfield can effectively market itself to local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" by emphasizing its core strengths. Highlighting the "beyond comfortable beds," "very clean and modern rooms," and the "phenomenal" breakfast food would strongly appeal to guests seeking comfort and quality dining. The "friendly staff" and the hotel's convenient location "rite off Route 5 and surrounded by everything" are excellent selling points for both leisure and business travelers. Promoting the availability of a pool and gym for guest use would also be beneficial. For youth sports teams, acknowledging the hotel's structured environment around "kids' shenanigans" could be framed as a benefit for parents seeking a more controlled and peaceful stay for their families, while perhaps considering designated areas for team activities like knee hockey to cater to their specific needs. Addressing the Wi-Fi issue is critical for future promotion; if improved, it should be heavily advertised as a reliable feature. The hotel could also promote special offers for families, sports teams, or long-term stays. While acknowledging the pool party incident, the hotel should reinforce its commitment to guest safety and comfort, perhaps by outlining policies for managing private events to ensure they do not detract from the experience of other guests. Overall, Courtyard West Springfield offers a strong foundation for a comfortable and convenient stay, with its positive attributes far outweighing the noted areas for improvement, making it a solid choice in the West Springfield area.

Mar 13, 2025 路 JennNice Courtyard if you aer in the area. Very clean and modern rooms, bathrooms. Nice gym and pool. The pool is small but serves its purpose and the water is warm. Very friendly and welcoming staff, always working or moving, never hanging around. This is the one I stay at when in the area.
May 16, 2025 路 Timothy CroweI鈥檝e been a regular guest at the Marriott Courtyard and generally enjoy my stays鈥攈owever, I鈥檝e had repeated negative experiences with one of the front desk staff members, Shakia. On several occasions, she has been noticeably rude and dismissive. Each time we鈥檝e checked in while she鈥檚 working, she fails to apply our Marriott Bonvoy number despite us providing it, meaning we don鈥檛 receive our points. Additionally, she recently refused to honor our AAA rate, which we鈥檝e always received without issue in the past. The most upsetting part was her disrespectful attitude and inappropriate comments made directly to us during check-in. It left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. I hope Marriott takes this feedback seriously and addresses the customer service issues at this location. Guests deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect.
May 23, 2025 路 Me EClean and comfortable with great food and beverage dining options right in the lobby- honestly, the best pita bread and hummus I鈥檝e ever had- who would have thought? The hotel also has a pretty amazing workout room with great options for weights stretching, etc. overall a great value with very friendly service!
Mar 25, 2025 路 Beverly BokovitzStaff was nice and everything was easy, which is what you want when finding a place to stay. They have a small pool and gym and a few areas to congregate in the lobby. Close to a bunch of restaurants and shops.
