Mostly quiet. Rooms I'd give more a 4 out of 5 just because they are a little older and the beds are smaller plus they squeak. But overall the water was hot and shower pressure was nice. Breakfast is just bagels, cereal and muffins so nothing fancy. Overall would stay here again with no issues.

Days Inn by Wyndham Wilmington/Brandywine Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" that prioritize value, convenience, and essential amenities in the Wilmington, Delaware area, the Days Inn by Wyndham Wilmington/Brandywine offers a practical choice. Situated at 5209 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, USA, this hotel, part of the widely recognized Days Inn brand under Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, aims to provide a comfortable and straightforward stay for various travelers, including those on a budget, families, and individuals with pets.

Environment: Functional and Improving

The Days Inn by Wyndham Wilmington/Brandywine presents an environment that, while historically described as older, has also seen recent refurbishment efforts to enhance guest comfort. Reviews indicate that some rooms may reflect their age with slightly smaller beds or occasional squeaks, yet they generally offer consistent hot water and good shower pressure. A key positive note from recent guests is the pleasant surprise of a "refurbished hotel and room," suggesting ongoing efforts to improve the overall guest experience. While the hotel's location on Concord Pike means it's part of a busy thoroughfare, which could lead to some traffic noise, many guests still find the overall atmosphere to be "mostly quiet" for sleeping, especially in rooms on higher floors as some recommendations suggest. The exterior lighting has been a minor concern for some, making it appear dark at night, but this is a minor "hitch" that doesn't detract significantly from the stay for most. The hotel is pet-friendly, with some rooms featuring laminate floors, which can be a significant advantage for guests traveling with their animals. Proximity to local businesses and amenities, including an Indian restaurant just steps away, adds to the convenience of its setting. While minor cleanliness issues like finding a few hairs have been mentioned, the general consensus leans towards a pleasant stay, particularly given the value proposition. The hotel's general cleanliness, service, and overall property conditions are rated as "okay" to "pleasant" by various review aggregates, suggesting a consistent standard for a budget-friendly option.

Services: Essentials for a Convenient Stay

The Days Inn by Wyndham Wilmington/Brandywine focuses on providing core services that simplify travel. A notable inclusion is the complimentary continental breakfast. While often described as "nothing fancy" (typically bagels, cereal, and muffins), it is provided daily. Specifically, it's an "on-the-go breakfast" served weekdays from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and weekends from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This free breakfast offers a quick and convenient way to start the day without an extra expense. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas, ensuring guests can stay connected for work or personal use. The hotel offers free self-parking on site, which is a significant convenience for those traveling by car, including ample space for RVs/buses/trucks. For those looking to maintain their fitness, a fitness center is available, equipped for exercise needs. The property also provides a 24-hour front desk, ensuring assistance is always at hand. Other useful services include dry cleaning/laundry services and on-site coin-operated guest laundry facilities, which are ideal for longer stays or for refreshing clothes. The staff is frequently praised for being "friendly and helpful," and in particular, the Front Office Manager, Hetty Lewis, has received consistent positive feedback for her kindness and professionalism, contributing positively to the guest experience. The hotel explicitly states it is a "pet-friendly" accommodation, allowing pets up to 50 lbs (though some sources state 30 lbs) with an additional fee (e.g., $50 for 1-6 nights, $150 for longer stays), making it a viable choice for travelers with dogs or cats, noting that service animals are exempt from fees. Early check-in and late check-out options might be available for an extra charge of $25 each, providing flexibility for travel plans.

Features: Practicality and Comfort in Every Room

Some rooms may also have an in-room safe (available for an additional fee of $1.50 per night). While some guest feedback suggests beds might be older or smaller in certain units, comfort is generally reported to be acceptable, with recent refurbishments likely addressing some of these points and guests often describing the beds as "comfortable." The hotel offers a variety of room configurations, including standard rooms, deluxe rooms, and suites, with options for one king bed, one double bed, or two double beds. Non-smoking rooms are widely available, and there may be designated smoking areas on the property. For business travelers, a business center with computer access and fax/copying services is typically available. The presence of a fitness center and the availability of amenities like blackout curtains, telephone with free local calls, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby further enhance the guest experience. Pleasantly surprised by refurbished hotel and room. Minor hitch when I got there, the outside lights had not come on yet so it was really dark making it look closed. I am glad the AC was running aa the birds in the trees were singing all night. Bed was very comfirtable. Indian restaurant a few steps away was very good. Days Inn probably has little control over that. There was some guys smoking what smelled like dope in parking lot and I found a few hairs on shower wall but overall had a pleasant stay.

The simple breakfast was ok, I was expecting more. The server was very supportive. However, the rooms were ok to some extent. Unfortunately, for a 2 nights stay, I didn’t get a good night sleep. I woke up with pains in my neck n shoulders. The pillows were way too soft. I even asked for more, they weren’t any better. The headboard was too hard. I’m kind of surprised bc I’ve stayed at them in other states n it was alright. But it appears times have changed. But they can use an upgrade to the bathrooms the pipes were hard to turn on to get the right temperature. They have a new policy of not cleaning the rooms if it’s 2 nights or less. So I had to do it myself. Also, they have a new policy for incidentals, instead of putting a hold on your card, you’re charged the $100 fee. I’m sorry but I will not stay at this hotel ever again.

I remember this used to be the Tally-Ho Motor Lodge in my youth, long since rebranded as a Days Inn (Wyndham) property. Top floor room, building and rooms showing their age. I was told that the first floor rooms are remodeled and more modern but didn't have one of those. It was a serviceable room, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with supplies. A little short on towels and toiletries, we asked for more towels on day 2 no problem. Note that it is full size beds, not queens, but we knew this, which leads to the main issue we had at this hotel. Breakfast was numerous grab and go items, but the breakfast room is nice and the lady who runs the breakfast room was super nice and helpful. I think she is related to the owner/GM. The service rating is low because the night manager almost got physical with me when I asked for additional blankets. We got back late from seeing family and the lobby is locked (intercom access) after 10pm. Fine, okay, it's not a bad neighborhood, but I won't argue with security. I asked for additional sheets and blankets. He brought me additional sheets and told me there were no blankets. When I incredulously asked how the hotel could have no blankets left, he told me he wasn't housekeeping, and that he wouldn't have let me into the lobby if he had known I was going to be smart with him, and that if I was dissatisfied, he would cancel my reservation (it's around midnight at this point, FYI). I told all this to the day manager who promised to talk with him, and informed me that the management has no access to the linens after housekeeping leaves for the day...seems like a bad plan to me, as guests have needs throughout the day, not just 9-5. Good thing I didn't ask him for the extra towels, I might have gotten laid out. Further, how did he get the sheets if there's no access to the linens? Anyway probably won't stay here again, but it is one of the cheaper hotels in the area.

Only issue I had was I asked for housekeeping service because I stayed four days and they basically just bought in new towels. Beds where not changed or even made up toilet paper roll was not replaced. I'm used to when extended stay and you get housekeeping the room is cleaned as if you where coming in first day
