This was by far the most disgusting place i have ever stayed. There were stains all over the walls, from BBQ sauce, to other mysterious stains, to what i hope was lipstick smeared. The blankets had burn marks in them, the carpet you can tell hasn't been vacuumed in months. Both our rooms smelled like cigarettes and the other more weed. While packing to leave i found a joint underneath the bed. These pictures are NOT what it looks like.
For individuals searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area, the Dutchland Motel, situated at 1492 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601, USA, may appear as a lodging option. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the motel, detailing its environment, services, features, and promotional information, drawing primarily from the provided customer reviews and general understanding of budget accommodation categories.
The Dutchland Motel is located on Lititz Pike, a common thoroughfare in Lancaster, suggesting a roadside motel setting that prioritizes accessibility. However, the internal environment and ambiance, as described by recent guests, present a highly concerning picture. Guests reported an environment characterized by significant cleanliness issues. Descriptions include "stains all over the walls, from BBQ sauce, to other mysterious stains, to what i hope was lipstick smeared." This indicates a severe lack of attention to basic hygiene and maintenance within the guest rooms. Furthermore, "fecal and/or blood stains on the walls" were reported in one instance, pointing to an extreme level of unhygienic conditions.
The bedding was noted to have "burn marks," and the carpet was described as not having "been vacuumed in months." The presence of unpleasant odors, with rooms smelling like "cigarettes and the other more weed," further detracts from any potential positive ambiance. The discovery of a "joint underneath the bed" points to a deeper issue regarding cleanliness and perhaps the activities permitted or overlooked on the property. The overall ambiance, therefore, appears to be one of significant disarray, filth, and neglect, which would be detrimental to any guest's comfort and peace of mind.
In a typical motel setting, guests expect fundamental services such as a clean room, fresh linens, and functional facilities. However, based on the provided customer feedback, the Dutchland Motel appears to fall significantly short in delivering these basic services. While the existence of specific amenities like Wi-Fi, air conditioning, or television cannot be confirmed or denied from the given information, the fundamental expectation of a clean and habitable room seems unmet.
Customer service, particularly in addressing guest concerns, is another critical aspect. One review explicitly states that when cleanliness issues, including "fecal and/or blood stains on the walls," were brought to the attention of the owner, the owner "was not concerned...nor offered to have it cleaned." This indicates a severe deficiency in customer responsiveness and a lack of commitment to guest comfort or problem resolution. The expectation of even basic housekeeping and maintenance services is not being met, as evidenced by the unkempt state of the rooms and the presence of trash or drug paraphernalia. The inability or unwillingness of the management to address such serious issues on-site is a significant concern for potential guests seeking a reliable and comfortable stay.
For a budget motel, the primary "selling point" is often its low price. However, even within this category, there is an inherent expectation of a certain level of cleanliness and safety. Based on the provided information, the Dutchland Motel's features, beyond its basic function as a place to sleep, are not highlighted positively. Its location on Lititz Pike offers accessibility to the surrounding areas of Lancaster, which could be a convenient feature for travelers needing to be in that specific vicinity. However, any potential benefit of location is severely undermined by the reported conditions.
The reviews explicitly state that "These pictures are NOT what it looks like," implying that any online promotional imagery might misrepresent the actual state of the property. This is a critical point for potential guests, as a significant feature of any hotel is its accurate representation. While some budget accommodations are "no frills," the reported conditions at the Dutchland Motel suggest a level of "general filth" that goes beyond mere simplicity and enters the realm of unacceptable living conditions. The motel's low price, if indeed it is low, appears to come at a significant cost to basic hygiene and guest well-being.
Promotional information for any hotel typically emphasizes comfort, cleanliness, and value. However, for the Dutchland Motel, the provided customer reviews offer a stark and highly negative counter-narrative to any such potential claims. The feedback from real customers is unequivocally damning, presenting a picture of a property that is severely lacking in fundamental aspects of guest accommodation. Key issues highlighted include:
The feedback suggests that the property is "the most disgusting place" one guest has ever stayed, and that guests "did not expect this level of general filth," even considering the price range. This indicates a severe failure to meet even the lowest reasonable expectations for a commercial lodging establishment. Potential guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" and considering the Dutchland Motel should be fully aware of these serious and consistent criticisms.
Given the overwhelmingly negative and disturbing nature of the customer reviews, any form of "promotional information" for the Dutchland Motel, other than perhaps highlighting its address and phone number ((717) 293-8400 or +1 717-293-8400), would be misleading if it suggested a comfortable or even acceptably clean stay. The information provided strongly indicates that this establishment is currently operating at a standard that falls far below industry norms for cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. It is critical for potential guests to be fully informed about these conditions to make a truly objective decision about their lodging choices in Lancaster, PA. Based on this direct feedback, guests should exercise extreme caution and consider alternative accommodations when planning their visit to the area.

May 19, 2025 · Michael HoverFamily members stayed there when they came to town for a wedding. It seems the room they ended up in had what looked like fecal and/or blood stains on the walls. The owner was not concerned when they brought it up, nor offered to have it cleaned. They did not have high expectations given the price range, but they also did not expect this level of general filth.
