The rooms were clean and comfortable. It had a nice size refrigerator and tv. However, it needed more and better towels and definitely more pillows for 2 queen size beds. The outside needs a lot of upkeep. It is a bit rundown (stairs paint etc)but if you need a quick stay, it is ok.

Econo Lodge Jefferson Hills Hwy 51 Introduce

For individuals searching on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform for accommodations in the greater Pittsburgh area, the Econo Lodge Jefferson Hills Hwy 51 may appear as a budget-friendly option. Located at 1303 Clairton Blvd, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025, USA, this hotel can be contacted at (412) 384-5811 or via mobile at +1 412-384-5811. As part of the Econo Lodge brand, it generally caters to travelers seeking economical lodging. An objective assessment, combining publicly available information with direct customer feedback, is crucial for prospective guests to make an informed decision.

The environment of the Econo Lodge Jefferson Hills Hwy 51 is characteristic of a roadside motel, situated along a major thoroughfare, Highway 51 (Clairton Blvd). This location provides convenience for travelers passing through or those needing easy access to the surrounding areas of Jefferson Hills and beyond. It is approximately 11 miles from downtown Pittsburgh and 1.5 miles from the Century III Mall, placing it within reasonable driving distance of shopping, dining, and city attractions like Kennywood Amusement Park (about 7 miles away). While the location offers accessibility, the exterior appearance of the property has been noted by guests as needing "a lot of upkeep" and being "a bit rundown," with issues like peeling paint on stairs. This suggests that the hotel's aesthetic might be more functional than visually appealing, typical of a budget-oriented establishment.

Regarding services and features, the Econo Lodge Jefferson Hills Hwy 51 offers a set of basic amenities designed for a simple, quick stay. Guest rooms are generally equipped with conveniences such as a "nice size refrigerator" and a television, often flat-screen. Rooms also typically include a microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron, and ironing board upon request. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas, a standard and much-appreciated amenity for modern travelers. Guests have described the rooms as "clean and comfortable," with "comfortable beds," suggesting that the interior of the rooms, despite potential exterior issues, meets a basic standard of comfort. Some rooms may also feature a balcony or terrace, and for those who require it, smoking rooms are available, alongside non-smoking options.

The hotel offers a complimentary continental breakfast every morning, typically served between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM. This "on-the-go" breakfast can be a convenient start to the day, though some reviews suggest a limited selection. For longer stays, coin laundry facilities are available on site, which is a practical feature for guests. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day, providing continuous assistance for check-ins, check-outs, and any guest inquiries. The hotel also has a pet-friendly policy, allowing one pet up to 20 lbs per pet for an additional fee of $25 per pet, per night, plus a one-time cleaning fee of $150. This is a significant consideration for travelers with animal companions. Other reported amenities include a hot tub/whirlpool, although specific details on its functionality or availability are not consistently highlighted in recent reviews. There is also a restaurant reportedly "right next door," offering convenient dining access, and vending machines are available on the property.

However, customer feedback reveals significant inconsistencies and negative experiences, particularly concerning customer service and overall property condition. One severe review describes "very poor customer service" and a "very rude" encounter with staff, alleging discrimination and an unjust eviction. This reviewer's account of being "kicked us out on the street with nowhere to go after one night knowing we had all our stuff and desperately needed to stay there for a period of time" is a grave accusation that highlights potential issues with staff professionalism and guest care. This particular incident, if accurate, stands in stark contrast to the expectations of basic hospitality.

Other recurring complaints, beyond the exterior upkeep, include issues with in-room amenities such as the quantity and quality of towels (needing "more and better towels") and the number of pillows (insufficient for two queen beds). Some reviews mention dirty floors, stained bedding and towels, and thin walls leading to noise issues, suggesting that while rooms might be "comfortable" generally, cleanliness and maintenance standards can be inconsistent. The term "slum motel" used by one reviewer, while harsh, indicates a deep dissatisfaction with the overall state and management of the establishment. The fact that the hotel is "never at the hotel" during certain hours, as claimed by one guest, also points to potential issues with responsiveness.

In terms of promotional information, Econo Lodge, as a Choice Hotels brand, often offers various deals to attract guests. These can include discounts for booking in advance, loyalty program benefits through Choice Privileges Rewards, and special rates for AAA members or seniors. The primary promotional message for Econo Lodge properties typically centers on affordability, convenience, and essential comforts. However, the subjective experience of value for money at this particular location seems to be highly dependent on individual expectations and encounters with staff, as well as the specific condition of the room assigned.

In conclusion, for users of the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform seeking a very basic and budget-conscious stay in Jefferson Hills, PA, the Econo Lodge Jefferson Hills Hwy 51 is an option located at 1303 Clairton Blvd. It provides fundamental amenities such as comfortable rooms with mini-fridges, microwaves, flat-screen TVs, and complimentary Wi-Fi and continental breakfast. Its location offers convenient access to local attractions and routes. However, prospective guests must be aware of consistent negative feedback regarding the property's exterior condition, potential inconsistencies in room cleanliness and amenity provision (like towels and pillows), and, most critically, severe complaints about poor customer service, including allegations of rude and unhelpful staff behavior. While the hotel aims to offer an economical stay, these reported issues suggest that the overall experience can be highly variable. Travelers prioritizing very low cost over consistent quality and customer service might consider it for a quick stop, but those seeking a reliable and pleasant experience are advised to proceed with caution and manage their expectations accordingly.

Very poor customer service. Very rude when we got there. The guy discriminated against me and my boyfriend because of a personal issue with a "friend " of his aparantly. I am 7 months pregnant and needed somewhere to stay for a few weeks and he kicked us out on the street with nowhere to go after one night knowing we had all our stuff and desperately needed to stay there for a period of time. Turned down our service and then lied to us saying he was full and there were no rooms available at 10am when nobody was even at the hotel. Nobody is ever at the hotel it's a slum motel. Inßßñ

Most important, there was a mouse in my garbage in the middle of the night scavenging. Floors were filthy. Holes in bedding. Towels full of stains and hair. And I think there was a herd of animals in the room above me. Very noisy.

Check in was smooth, manager was nice..it stops there though..checked in about 5pm & it was nonstop noise from the room above me till midnight when we had enough & left..literally nonstop jumping on beds, sliding around chir with wheels..didn't stop for longer than a minute..unbelievable how much noise was coming from room above 107..had to be some crackhead living there or something, place definitely needs security walking around to keep people in check..drinking & smoking weed openly out front of rooms without a care in the world

We came up from VA for a Monday Night Football game and having arrived in the evening, we stopped at the first motel we could find within the city limits. After being so pleased with experience and affordability, we decided to spend three more nights there. We were able to stay there for four nights under $400 with AAA coverage. Special note: Neal was awesome and paid special attention to all of our requests. My two sons and I could not have been happier with the experience. Dr. Mark
