This is not about my stay at the lodge, I have never been there. This is about how this place treats their potential customers/clients. So I booked to stay over a weekend a while ago, however, the week of (this week) leading up to the date of arrival, there are reports of unfavorable weather conditions (tornado and flood warnings). I called the number provided to me via Bookings.com. This was the first incident where the receiver on the other end could not have sounded more uninterested about my plea to not cancel, but rather postpone. He was so quick to wanting to hang up, I do not even believe he said “goodbye” or any show of kindness and willingness to help as customer service or receptionist that one would expect. So, second incident, I log into my booking requesting for the cancellation fee to be waived, clearly explaining that I really just want to postpone to a later date and that I am influenced by the weather conditions that are not unknown. I’m committed to staying at this lodge, Bookings.com sends the request to the lodge, and they decline. These kinds of dealings are just rude and unwarranted, how would they expect anyone to make a trip to their Beni knowing how impossible it would be in terrible weather conditions. I don’t want to go there anymore

Introduction / Overview
The Econo Lodge North in Nashville, Tennessee, located at 110 Maplewood Trce, is an economy hotel operating under the Choice Hotels brand. Its primary appeal is its competitive pricing, targeting travelers who are seeking the most affordable accommodation options in the Nashville area. As an Econo Lodge, it aims to provide fundamental necessities rather than extensive luxuries.
Customer feedback regarding this specific Econo Lodge location is notably mixed and highlights a significant divide in guest experiences. On one hand, some guests have reported positive interactions with staff, noting a "friendly staff" and "good place to lay your head" for its affordability. Some reviews even mentioned the front desk staff being "friendly." The hotel is part of the Choice Hotels network, which typically implies certain baseline standards for economy lodging.
However, substantial concerns are raised regarding the overall condition of the property and its rooms, as well as aspects of customer service. Reviews explicitly mention "extremely disgusting" rooms, with issues like "sheets burned with cigarettes," "completely dirty everywhere," and a general need for better cleaning and remodeling of walls and baseboards. There are also reports of inconsistency with amenities, with some rooms lacking basic features like Wi-Fi or televisions. A particularly strong piece of feedback from a potential guest highlighted a very negative experience with the hotel's inflexible cancellation policy during severe weather, describing interactions as "rude and unwarranted" and expressing a complete loss of desire to stay there.
This wide range of feedback suggests that while the hotel may indeed offer very low rates, guests should be prepared for a potentially inconsistent experience regarding room quality and customer service responsiveness, especially in challenging situations. It positions itself as a basic, no-frills option, and guests' satisfaction appears to heavily depend on their expectations and tolerance for the reported deficiencies.
Location and Accessibility
The Econo Lodge North is situated at 110 Maplewood Trce, Nashville, TN 37207, USA. This address places it in the North Nashville area, approximately 7 to 8 miles from downtown Nashville's main attractions. While it's not in the immediate heart of the city's bustling entertainment districts, its location offers accessibility to various points of interest, primarily by vehicle.
The hotel's position provides relatively straightforward driving access to popular Nashville landmarks. For instance, it's about 7 miles from the Grand Ole Opry and Opry Mills Mall, making it a potentially convenient, low-cost option for those attending shows or shopping in that area. Nissan Stadium, home to the Tennessee Titans, is also within a reasonable driving distance, around 6.44 kilometers (4 miles) away, as are other downtown attractions like the Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (both approximately 8 miles distant).
For air travelers, Nashville International Airport (BNA) is roughly 8.56 miles away, translating to about a 15-20 minute drive, depending on traffic. This makes it a consideration for those flying in or out of Nashville who need an economical place to stay close to the airport. The hotel also provides free on-site self-parking, including for RV/bus/truck parking, which is a significant advantage for guests traveling with their own vehicles.
However, it's crucial to note that the immediate vicinity of the hotel, while offering essential amenities like nearby restaurants and grocery stores, might not be considered a pedestrian-friendly or highly desirable neighborhood by all. As such, guests should plan on using personal vehicles, ride-sharing services, or taxis to get around to most attractions. The hotel's location offers a practical, value-oriented base for exploring Nashville, particularly for those with their own transportation.

As locals, we often understand the variability that can come with budget hotels. The Econo Lodge North's key suitability lies in its affordability, which can be invaluable for unexpected situations, tight budgets, or even for hosting visitors who are simply looking for a place to sleep without incurring significant expense. Its location in North Nashville offers reasonable driving access to major attractions like the Grand Ole Opry and Nissan Stadium, making it a functional base if you have your own transportation.

Ultimately, if you're a local who prioritizes the lowest possible cost, has realistic expectations about basic amenities, and is prepared to navigate any potential issues with direct communication, the Econo Lodge North can serve its purpose as a very economical lodging choice in Nashville. It’s not a place for luxury or a guaranteed seamless experience, but it fills a critical need in the market for purely budget-driven stays.

Apr 03, 2025 · Sithembiso Gugulethu MbathaI didn't end up staying the night but if you want full sized towels and not hand towels to dry your hands with. The shower still had a long black hair in it. This is not the place. Just needed to rest and recharge for a few hours.
Apr 01, 2025 · Amanda TAbsolutely horrific experience. Got 2 king suite rooms, and one of them smelled like cigarette smoke and dog piss. When we reported to the office, they gave us a bottle of cleaner and said, " Here, try cleaning your own room so it smells better." In the morning, when we tried to get coffee, it was empty, and the little bit that came out of the pot tasted as if it had been mixed with battery acid. When I asked the front desk if they were going to make more, I was politely told when it's out, it's time to go to McDonald's. Even if you're trying to be budget conscious, avoid this absolute horrid hotel. The only bright side is it seemed relatively safe to walk the parking lot but nowhere else at night.
Oct 16, 2024 · Lawson MurphyA great room in a pinch for the price. Room was clean and smelled nice and there was a large flat screen TV. Nothing was dirty but things did look old which was understandable. My only true complaints are that there were no regular-sized towels and there were stains on some towels. Otherwise, very well-kept room, great service and easy to check in and out.
Jul 13, 2024 · Mars MeolaCool price except the $75 deposit. Also too many roaches, had one awaken me in my bed, showed the staff a video of it in the bed, they offered nothing in return.
